About : This was SUCH a blast to work on!  I love classic cartoons and the Coyote was always one of my favorites as a kid (probably second only to Taz).

Since this was a pretty new style for me, I took a lot of progress photos along the way, overlaying the concept art in Photoshop to make corrections as needed.  I have a pretty cool progress compilation to share later on as a result.

The main structure is largely made of Apoxie Sculpt, for stability.  The hands and head are my Sculpey Firm/Super Sculpey mix.

Due to the age of the Cobra privateer vessels- which date back to the Capellan War over six decades ago in 2255- Rayline Industries released a newer upgraded model in 2316. Named the King Cobra, it has been significantly modified from the original model. Most notable is the extension of the main hull out between the forward booms. This extension moved the bridge forward, allowing for the addition of more luxurious crew quarters, an expanded infirmary, and a small brig for captured pirates. This improvement in accommodations is accompanied by an upgrade in the aging life support system, doubling the number of people the King Cobra can support.
Other significant changes have been a radical change in engine modules- upgrading to more efficient dual-core gravitic drives- and newer weapon systems. The addition of two more dual core engines increases the maneuverability and acceleration of the King Cobra significantly over the previous model, and newer, more compact jump engines allow for a primary and backup jump drive in half the space occupied by the older models. Due to the need of privateers to respond to a threat quickly, the older Class VI drives- while fast- have been replaced with Class VII drives, allowing for a jump speed of 140 C/hr. The backup drive has also been replaced with a Class V, giving the King Cobra substantial jump speed even on the emergency drive.
The most obvious upgrade has been in weapons. Four dual heavy PPCs with built-in point-defense turrets, two aft-mounted dual medium PPCs, and four quad light PPCs give a far greater level of coverage and firepower from the previous model. Four dual light AP Lancer and single light AP lancer turrets create a comprehensive shield of fire against smaller ships without draining the reactor bank overmuch. Sixteen pop-up point-defense turrets spread throughout the vessel give excellent anti-missile and anti-fighter defensive cover.
Forward firepower was likewise improved. Two double-stacked heavy AP lancer spinals along the inner boom are now backed up with two heavy PPC spinals, and two disruptor spinals for disabling target vessels' electronics and shields. sixteen LRM launchers add in intermediate firepower and offensive capacity against small craft and fighters. Next-generation deployable tachyon-radiation-dispersing ailerons on either engine nacelle increase the cool-down and turnaround time, allowing the King Cobra longer durations of hyperspace travel.

You may remember the Sigma 6 scale Fallout 3 Power Suit I did last year. Here's the 6" scale version that fits in with your Marvel Legends. It was made from an Iron Man Movie Titanium Man figure with Cannonball gloves and Apoxie Sculpt sculpted head, chest, and leg sections. Other additions were lots of wire and tubing seamed along the suit and shoulderpads made from fodder parts. The gun came from a Super Patriot arm and the base from from a Dirty Pair figure I believe. You can see how I painted the figure step-by-step in my Guides and Tutorials page too. There's quie a few steps invloved in a paint job like this!

There's a noise downstairs
You want to go check
But in the back of your mind something begs you not to
Perhaps you head down the stairs slowly
Perhaps it was just the house creaking
But instead you lock your bedroom door
You hide under the covers breathing slowly
That's why you woke up the next morning
And simply didn't vanish

This is a teaser shot of my custom Slender Man action figure, 13" tall and fully articulated with bendable tendrils. No longer just a myth this creepy character will be showing up again so keep your eyes peeled.

Aiiiiie, it's the flood! This Flood infected UNSC Marine in Combat form is actually a character in the Halo 3 video game. He was created from the 5" New Goblin figure with Fixit Sculpted armor sections and flood form. The large left arm was a combination of a TF Quintesson arm and the wing-claws from some DuelMaster unded lion. The slumped over human head came from a football figure of some sort. Everything else was sculpted, which of course drove me crazy. It took at least 9 hours to sculpt the flood parts, armor sections, and make it all come together layer by layer. You may think it's nifty but I never want to see this thing again, I pretty much shun any custom I had to spend more than an hour sculpting, bleh. Props to the professional sculptors out there who make our action figures, I dunno how you guys do it.

This morning I was born in a yurt at the edge of a horse-plain in a land of a planet which no longer exists. Tomorrow I will be born someone else in another place. I have not yet chosen. This morning, though - ahhh, this life! When my eyes had learned to focus, I looked out at sunshine on trampled grass and I saw vigorous people going about the sweet activities of their lives. Where... oh where has all of that vigor gone?

A fairly quick build centred on the use of Vezon's cape as its wings.

The Mortiven is a species of moth that lives in mountainous regions. According to old folklore, it casts a deep shadow wherever it flies, and is said to only appear during the last moments of someone's life, whereupon it will straighten its tongue like a needle and attempt to suck the blood of those about to pass away. Because of this, villagers often take the moth to be the cause of death itself, and so many believe that killing it is the answer to eternal life; the moths often have tattered wings as a result of the traps that the villagers set. However, those who allow the moth to feed on their blood will go on to the next world most peacefully.

I wanted to use the Vezon cape, and then that backstory came to mind. Each wing is supported by a frame of HF torsos and secured using the Bohrok eyes, and I tried to use the rip at the bottom of each cape to signify the junction between the front and hind wings. The name 'Mortiven' comes from the Latin words for 'death' and 'arrival'.

Edit 02/08/2014: Completely redesigned everything. The body is more moth-like, the antenna are longer, the neck was removed, and the Mortiven even has six teeny legs that it can stand on! Additionally the wings are angled such that the front ends lie roughly along a horizontal line, which I think looks nicer. The old version can be seen here.

I hope you like it!

Not to be confused with Overheat.

Ember is a female fire demon, born of the flame and, unlike the explosive personalities of her element, is reasonably quiet. Her demeanour is more of a glowing coalfire rather than a raging inferno.

As a MOC, Ember began as nothing more than Overheat 3.0., which I had wanted to do for some time; I disliked Overheat's head and arms, and wanted to clean up the colour scheme a little. After deciding to redo the torso as well, I resolved to remake the entire MOC, meaning that Overheat and Ember are completely different structurally. The only trait that they share is the basic concept.
This is, of course, the colour scheme: coal-black at the feet, gradually rising through shades of red and orange until we reach wisps of yellow at the top. I'd say that Ember's transition is far smoother: see this comparison to see what I mean. Perhaps the only thing I miss from Overheat is the digitigrade feet, but either way Ember is supposed to be more humanoid, and extra joints in feet tend to be less stable. I'm also happier with the parts usage on Ember, like the brain slug used as her spine!
Ember was made as a sort of counterpart to another MOC of mine, Fissure. Fissure's concept was centred around colour distribution too, except that his was the segregation of it as opposed to a steady sweep through a spectrum. I hope you like them both!

Update 14/09/2013: Made a few changes which I thought were significant. The lower HF armour piece on Ember's head has been changed to yellow and there are a couple of other minor adjustments, but the major changes were the hips and upper legs. Her hips are now wider and more rounded (to the point where I think they may be too fat), which gave me room to stabilise the hip joint as well. Note that the critiques by ~Rannok and ~Vedkarrtheunbroken were written about Ember's previous version, which can be seen in the above comparison. As I have already photographed Ember's involvement in Hero Faffory, I highly doubt that I'll change anything else, so I hope you approve of the updates!

The Bloodfang Speeder is a spaceship, inspired (fairly obviously) by the two Pridak heads. I challenged myself to only use pieces that were either red or white, which actually wasn't that difficult given how many connecty red pieces there are. The Bloodfang is relatively simple in design, but I'm very happy with it!
The name 'Bloodfang' was suggested by *Shorjok.
