Chapter 21 ~ Planning
"I can't stand waiting any longer!", the Flareon announced after an hour or so of waiting. Raiu and his remaining group of six had been waiting at the bottom of the hill that Dan lived on since they just missed catching Emmi and Luna in the bushes. Raiu only sat there patiently, questioning what he was going to do next.
There were very few left from when they had started their fight with Crystal and the others, and Raiu knew this was a drawback to his plans. He didn't anticipate to run into Ms. Jade and Mr. Tegalad at Crystal's house, and the result took out many of his friends. All that were left were him, the Flareon, an Umbreon and Espeon, a Vaporeon, and two Leafeon twins. Knowing full well that Dan had a large family, he was hesitant to just jump into battle with him.

Chapter 14 ~ Auntie
They had traveled a ways before they began to see a small town at the top of the hill. Unfortunately for Emmi, her leg had given out about halfway and Derek had to carry her up the hill. By the time they got to the top, Derek was having a hard time standing himself. He never said anything, however, and they continued on into the town.
They had no idea where Emmi's aunt's house was, because this was the first time she had ever been up here that she could remember. They slowly drifted off into the center of town, where they ran into a Glaceon that seemed to know her.
"Oh my god!", she shouted as she ran towards them. "Emmi?! Is that really you?! Oh my, I haven't seen you since you were a baby!"
"I'm sorry, but do I

Chapter 1 ~ First Day
The sunlight shone into the little room of Emmi, a female Eevee who lived on the outskirts of the forest near a small town. Emmi's parents had decided to move here because of problems they were having with neighbors who had concerns about Emmi. Emmi had been born with a special birthmark on her forehead that their neighbors feared were markings of an evil creature. To escape, her parents decided to move away in order to avoid criticism from the community.
Emmi had no memory of when she had lived in her hometown, so she had made friends in her new home. Today was Emmi's first day of kindergarten at the local school in the area, and she was up and ready early that morning because she was so excited.
"Mom! Dad! Wake up! You promised you'd take me to my

Chapter 17 ~ Uncle
Unaware of what was going on back at the house, Derek, Emmi, and Luna pushed on towards her uncle's house in the dark. They had some light from the moon, but that didn't really help much. As they pushed on, however, Luna end Emmi began to ask differently. Derek didn't really understand what was going on, until he noticed that Emmi's mark was glowing. He feared that she might be getting angry again, until he also noticed that something was glowing under the red ribbon around Luna's left ear.
He didn't really know what they glowing meant, but when he had them stop for the night, just shy of the hill that Emmi's uncle lived on, he took the red ribbon off Luna's ear and noticed another mark that looked almost identical to Emmi's, but it was green. He couldn't quite make out what this all meant, until he realized that both marks were of

"Hey, sis! We're about to leave!", Dan said as he was heading for the door.
"Aw, so soon?", Star called after him.
It had been nearly three months since the incident with Raiu. Star had a melt down before the three of them got home that night, and everyone had decided that she was going to need help getting through the next week or two. After a week or so, she still didn't show signs of getting over it, and everyone realized that they had to stay with her longer. Now, Dan and his kids were getting ready to go, and Star was saddened by this.
"Sorry, sis, but we need to go back to what remains of our house and get everything that survived.", he told her slowly. "After that, we have to find a new place to live. If it makes

It was a clear blue sky that first winter morning, and as always, Emmi was up early to play. She had wanted to go outside again to play, but seeing as this was the first snowfall she had ever seen, she was skeptic about going outside. She ran to her mom's room, hoping that she would come out with her to tell her what was going on.
"Mom! Dad! Come quick! The sky is falling!", she began shouting as the door to her parents room opened. Her parents only smiled at her as they took a look outside and saw exactly what was happening.
"Emmi, honey, that was we call snow.", Star told her. "Its what happens around this time of year."
"Wow..", Emmi said as she stared out the window, watching it fall to the ground.

Chapter 22 ~ Good Morning
Smoke filled their lunges as daylight broke over the horizon. The children all thought it was something their dad was trying to make for breakfast, knowing full well he wasn't the best cook, but the smoke was to thick for it to have been anything burnt. They all awoke to a start when Dan came rushing into each of their rooms, shouting for them to get out of the house.
By the time everyone was outside, including Emmi and Luna, who before this point had been in a daze and couldn't remember anything, they realized they were all surrounded by flames. Dan immediately looked down the hill, where he saw an Eevee being chased by a gang of eeveelutions. Almost without thinking, him and Andrew rushed down towards the Eevee to help him. As they neared the pokemon, Dan noticed that it was Raiu who was chasing the young Eevee.

Chapter 15 ~ Explanations
They all sat down at the table. Crystal had gone back into the kitchen to get the food, while Luna was anxiously bouncing up and down on her chair. Emmi and Derek didn't know why she was doing this, but when it came to Luna, they didn't question it. Soon Crystal was back with their food, a huge plate full of special berries that she had gotten from town. She also had a small herb dish for Emmi because of her injury to her leg.
Quietly they ate, Derek and Emmi constantly looking at each other, trying to decide when they should start to talk about Raiu. He was on his way, after all, and there was no time to lose, so when Luna had finished her meal and ran outside to go play some more, Emmi brought it up to Crystal.
"Excuse me, Auntie Crystal? I need to tell you somethi

NumbersHow old are you Grandad, she asked.Numbers in Free Verse More Like This
I said I was twenty-two.
She didn't believe me.
She was six.
With that pink hat she lost
In the town that's dead now,
That graveyard of the recession.
And on my centenary
I received correspondence
From her majesty
Who said I could start my birthdays again.
Don't be silly, she said.
Maybe she did believe me.
I dreaded the day that she would know.
Know that I had lied.
She wouldn't be six for very long
And that hat would get left behind.
How old are you Grandad, she asked.
I said I was seventy-eight.
Shouldn't you be thirty-four, she said.
No, but my hip is nearly five.
