The moonless sky portrayed nothing of the bright white sphere - instead, the
twinkling stars shed light across the lush woods, moors, and marshes. But it also
illuminated a peculiar scene, in which 3 cats stood in a close circle, apparently arguing forcefully.
“Are you sure she’s the right one?” murmured a sleek, dark ginger she-cat worriedly.
“Of course we are,” snapped a smoky gray she-cat with eyes like flashlights. “Do you
think with the events happening we wouldn’t know?”
“I was just making sure, Brightstorm, don’t be a bear,” retorted the stressed she-cat sharply.
The single tom, who was sitting right between the bickering she-cats, seemed to have

“All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Slanted Rock for a clan meeting!”

squeak and tried to scramble away, but Brackenleaf was already on top of it.
At least it’s better than nothing, Brackenleaf thought hopelessly as he gave
it a bite to the neck and surveyed its stringy form.
“Oi, did you catch anything yet?” meowed a grumpy voice, and Mudpad appeared stomping
angrily through the undergrowth and making much more noise then necessary.
“Great Starclan Mudpad, could yo
