"Everything will be alright," Caesar said softly as he held his brother tight. The truth is he wasn't sure how things will turn out but he had to say something. Rex was sobbing hysterically a moment ago and so he grabs hold of the boy to calm him down. The boy was still crying, amidst a series of hiccups, in his embrace. There was a sad look in Caesar's eyes as the reality of it all dawned upon him.
'They're gone. They're not coming back. Now it's just me and Rex.' He held Rex tighter as if afraid he'll lose the boy too if he doesn't. He closes his eyes as he felt Rex's tiny arms wrap around his waist. It was getting harder to keep the tears

"Would you like to hold him?" she said and Caesar looked up to meet her beautiful brown eyes. His breath caught in his throat and he couldn't answer her. All his worries about being a father suddenly came back and he looked away.
'What if I'm not ready?' He thought. 'What if I accidently forget to look after him? Like the many times I forgot about Rex. He'll get hurt. Like how Rex got hurt. What if I'm not there? Like how I left Rex for 5 years. He'll hate me. I can't do this.'
