This is the final concept of the 'Surface Phone'. The whole concept is inspired by the Surface Tablet >> [link]
I hope Microsoft is planning a Surface Phone. Later this year I will definetely buy the Surface-Pro!

Modeled completely in 3D. Rendered in Cycles.

Well about the specs: I don't really care about the specs. Maybe there is working a Quadcore in it - 2GB of Ram - 32-64Gb Storage - Display 1280x768 - 16MPx, FullHD Camera and so on...

Work in progress... If you like this first Concept UI, Stay connected, i try to create others concept UI based on modern UI, the contact page, apps list with sort apps, settings and probably more UI.

Just my vision improvement for Modern UI.
I put Jessica Alba because she has a Lumia 800, and now a Lumia 920.

What do you think ?

This is basically windows explorer design concept totally based around the Office 15 technical preview screenshot leaks.

Here is the version with ribbon maximized.
Notice no box for addressbar or search.

I think its not needed.
Pressing the search button will make the addressbar a searchbar.
And clicking on folders will work the same way.

Also notice the new Local Disk icon with new windows logo.. hehe :D

So. Breaking free from the rules of the normal windows explorer. I planned on making the most efficent and prettiest form of explorer with ribbon like interface.

Heres what i came up with.
please watch the other one to see how the ribbon expanded state looks like.

just having fun. Was practicing these icon styles and actually came up with this fun idea to do the start screen in somewhat opposite style to what the Metro tells us :P

lots of fun~! almost 1plus hour per icon. Many many layers.

And yes I made the betta fish aswell. Only the game icons are default.. except for solitaire. and the website icons are from the web except for youtube which I had to make myself in 64x64.

please download and set as fullscreen preview to feel it on a full HD display .. :P

A work in progress, this continues the series of "Metro Across Windows" in pushing the Metro style in a Photo Gallery setting.

To note, I did kind of cheat by just using color blocks in place of actual photographs, but I may replace those in a later update. The main concept of the UI would be to divide up your images by their source, whether they are from your camera, which you import manually [memory cards, usb], your phone [would love this to function like the Kin Studio, auto-sync phone to the cloud], and then social, which would feature photos from across your social networks [Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, other].

The Gallery view, seen here, would be able to be viewed in multiple sorting fashions, the primary one being by 'Date Taken.' Those would be sorted secondarily by the list of options on the right, which would vary with each option you would choose. Functions for the image you click would be available below it's details in the right hand panel, and would be rather basic, which would then go into depth.

Any suggestions on how to improve this concept?

Edit 1: To note, the background would be any image from your gallery, set to black/white and blended in a subtle fashion. This could be modified, but this would be default.

Edit 2: Shifted buttons in bottom left back to black to be consistent with other items already added

Edit 3: Added quick buttons to image, which would appear brighter when moused over. Also replaced placeholder blue block with placeholder image. The image is from the 'Sample Images' included in Windows 7

It's been awhile, and it likely will be for my next upload, but this is more or less the top to bottom concept of what the 'Focus' text editor would be.

Continuing the "Metro Across Windows" series, this version pushes more of the options into separate windows, which are found through the circle icons seen throughout the Windows Phone OS. The UI would be rather clean, and quite bright, as well as keep you focused on your work at hand.

Anyone have any suggestions for improvement on this? I'm a little worried of the complexity of windows over everything in the main window, though I understand the complexity of showing too much on screen, part of the reason I think the 'Ribbon' is overkill for Windows Live products.

While Twitter clients may be prolific, what about photo gallery software?

Microsoft provides their own option in Windows Live Photo Gallery, Google has theirs with Picasa, plus other software from Adobe, but why not take a Zune-like approach and make a photo gallery app that's a little alien, but put's the photos first. That, that's what this experiment is about.

A revisit on the original [link] , a re-thought Windows Live Photo Gallery (Photos here) could be an application which opens to a QuickView style presentation, giving users a view of some of their top viewed or latest images from the last two days, plus week respectively, with quick links available for accessing more for each section.

Additionally, as I explore this concept further, one of the key features would be to converge local, phone, and social, giving users one location to view all the photos they'll see on a daily basis.

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

This is my revised and fixed version of how Windows 8 could have looked like if Microsoft made a seperate edition of Windows 8 for desktops, where you get the new metro theme and still have the start menu: on the left you have a vertical group of live tiles you have recently used and on the right you can navigate to folders. The 'user' icon has been moved to the taskbar (down right), when you click it user options will come up, which include the ability to manage other accounts, swith to another account, change your user picture, and many others.

UPDATE 16/09/11: Added new caption buttons (from Windows 8 Developer Preview), fixed a few small bugs, added a few more wallpaper from Windows 8, added a new version which includes a new taskbar presented by Microsoft - [link] - I have to mention that this will be the last update for a while because I switched to Windows 8 and removed Windows 7! I will most probably release a new update (1.3) when Windows 8 Beta is released.

UPDATE 10/09/11: Added new caption buttons, fixed some small bugs and added a new wallpaper. The Start orb will be included in version 1.2 in a few days/weeks.

UPDATE 26/08/11: Added new temporary caption buttons made in Photoshop CS5, the original ones will be included in update 1.1 sometime in September 2011! Also, the start button is not included because it's not entirely made by me.

UPDATE 30/06/11: Fixed taskbar on top, right and left part of the screen + some small bugs. The next update will be released when a new Windows 8 build will leak. See you then!
