Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut on AMC's Original TV series "Breaking Bad"

My contact at the AMC Breaking Bad office, who is a PA Script coordinator & writer, tells me that Jonathan both saw and wants the drawing. I sent it to them 8/1/12 and they will have it framed and give it to him.

NOTE: I ADDED A WATERMARK BECAUSE I AM SELLING PRINTS ON WWW.FINEARTAMERICA.COM HERE:fineartamerica.com/profiles/ri…

Breaking Bad fans know this is Aaron Paul, who recently won an Emmy Award for "Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" for his role as “Jesse Pinkman” in AMC's hit show "Breaking Bad". I don't allow myself to obsess over any TV shows or celebrities, but Breaking Bad is my SOLE exception, ha! :D:D So you can imagine that we were thrilled to meet Aaron at Hard Rock Café in Chicago in 2010, while watching our son Andrew Belle perform. He is a super nice guy, and when you spend literally dozens of hours with a TV character, you feel as if you know them?

A few days ago, I @ mentioned Aaron (@aaronpaul_8) on twitter and said that if he followed me on twitter, I would draw him a large double portrait of him and Bryan Cranston" and he agreed! (twitter.com/rickfortson) However, he would rather I create a different drawing that he would hang in his personal home :D:D

Last week, I finally mailed my original “Walter White” drawing to Vince Gilligan (show creator) who is having it framed and hung in the official Breaking Bad office! :D:D

Last December, Vince Gilligan had somehow seen my drawings and had his assistant email me to get my home address, and then sent me some fan SWAG from the show, along with a hand written thank you note. Of course, I remain blown away that he did that!

My past Breaking Bad drawings:

Synopsis: Breaking Bad is an American television drama series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. Set and produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), with the aim of securing his family's financial future before he dies.

Luis with Drawing

FIRST...Luis just joined DA so he could comment below (lmoncada77), so everyone go "watch" him [link]

SECOND...BOTH views are LARGER than actual drawing (had to draw small, see below)

This is Luis Moncada. He and his brother Daniel played The Salamanca brothers, the Cartel Killer Hit men on Breaking Bad, Season 3 - episodes 1 through 6. I will be sending the original to Luis, and plan to draw several other characters from the show.

Season 5 will start July 15th and is said to have 8 episodes this summer, with 8 more episodes in the summer of 2013, which will either be considered Season 6 or the 2nd 1/2 of season 5. Either way, it will be the final season :(

This may have been my most challenging drawing, BECAUSE the largest reference photo I could find was not large enough to view fine details. Neither Luis himself or the Art Dept at Breaking Bad could find a larger file! If not for Luis working with me on this, letting me know the details were correct as I went along, I could not, and would not have attempted this, no matter how much I wanted to draw the photo. You guys know EXACTLY what I mean!?! I was basically imagining the details. One of the things I had to do, was draw this as SMALL as possible, so I could draw from a smaller than typical reference photo, because I could see more details when I printed the ref pic smaller :D:D

Great Highlight clip of the Moncada brothers Breaking Bad [link]

He is Walter White jr, played by RJ Mitte in a tv series called Breaking Bad :)

I really liked the reference photo, I also really enjoyed the challenge of drawing the hair, as I usually tend to avoid drawing photos with lots of hair.
I had kept this drawing very nearly finished, but still incomplete for about half a year, I decided to finish it yesterday, so dated it 2013 instead of 2012.

I hope you like it! :D

This is one of the first drawings I have made with more than one person in it. :)
From the left is Tuco Salamanca played by Raymond Cruz, Walter White played by Bryan Cranston and Jesse Pinkman played by Aaron Paul.

This is probably the most difficult drawing I have made, mostly because I had to draw three faces on 5.7 x 5.7 inches paper, and I also really struggled to draw the blurred effect on Walters face.

I used about 8-10 hours to create this drawing.
I used a 4B and 6H pencil, an eraser, blending stump and tissue for blending.

Hope you like it! :D

He is Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston from a tv series called Breaking Bad. 8-)

I really wanted to draw him for a long time, and finally managed to finish it over the weekend. It was fun trying to draw the skin details and his beard, as it was a challenge to draw every hair. :o

I used, B and 4B pencils and an eraser
Hope you like it! :D

Actor Tyler Hoechlin

I'm back ... and with a pretty handsome dude:blush:

To my surprise I lately got hooked on "Teen Wolf", and I think it is because of Tyler:love: He's just stunning and an amazing actor.

As soon as I saw that high quality reference file I knew I had to do another of the, for me, hyperrealistic portraits (like the one of Jensen Ackles I did a while ago:fav.me/d5gcfks). I started this in September or October, and I've been working on it on and off. Since I posted a WIP on Tumblr(sirtoastalot.tumblr.com/image/…, it has laid basically untouched on my desk, mainly because I was too afraid to finally draw the facial hair.

But since I really want to start new stuff, I had to finish this first.

Hope you like it:heart:

Technical stuff:
  • paper: Bristol Paper, 300g/m², A3
  • Faber Castell 9000 pencils, HB - 8B
  • references for the portrait from the Teen Choice Awards 2011 photoshoot
  • Photoshop to correct the levels

I haven't uplaoded something to dA in ages, but I haven't been inactive....:D

I finally got my hands on some nice smooth black paper and some good white pencils to draw.
Since I'm totally hooked with 'BBC Sherlock' and Benedict Cumberbatch, I had to try my new supplies with a wonderful ref of Ben's amazing profile.
Hope you like it.

Very creative title:P:D
With Halloween right around the corner I thought about making a Halloween series with classic movie monsters, starting with the Frankenstein monster. I don't know if I'll have the time for more than two drawings till Halloween, but I'm trying.
Hope you like it:D
WIP can be found on my tumblr: [link]

This is also the first drawing where I did not blend the face. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome:D

I also entered this into :icondreamarian:'s Halloween contest:[link]

Had a few ref pics lyin about recently, so i sat down a few days ago and started this one. Chris Martin's other half... The hair was probably the greatest challenge. The whole thing probably took about 6+ hours. 6B

This is also my 100th deviation!..

This is Walter from Breaking bad. This one took around 40 hours not including the critique phase. What it looked like before critique: [link]

(btw does anyone know how to remove old prints? When I first started using this website a couple months back, I thought the prints section of uploading was part of the whole process, did not know it was a choice.)

This was done with charcoal mostly. I used pencils instead of the stick this time and was able to control it much better. Used totrtillion for lips, nose and parts of eyes for shading. Did most of the face/tshirt with my finger. Hair was tough with charcoal so after a couple attempts I decided to make up most of it. I don't like how the top left turned out but I really like how the middle and top right of the hair looks. Shit was supposed to have lots of texture but I decided to tone that down a bit so it doesn't draw focus from the face/eyes. Other tools include kneaded eraser and tissue papers.

Prisma color on 18 by 24 strathmore paper. Took around 30 hours.

I realize now that the photo is a bit blurry. Sorry about that!

I'm really happy with the face. I started getting frustrated at the hair around 2 class periods ago (10 hours) and I rushed it. I wasn't able to get the colors I wanted but I was limited by the number of colors I bought.
