Twilight series Breaking DawnBreaking Dawn a.k.a. Epic Fail a rant on the Book 4 of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight 'Saga' Twilight series Breaking Dawn in Reviews & Guides More Like This
A while ago I managed to find a copy of Stephenie Meyer's Breaking Dawn(BD) in the public library. Since there was no third book of the series, Eclipse in sight; I had to make do and borrow Breaking Dawn first even though I still haven't read the third book.
Frankly, I had only watched the Twilight movie last year, then recently I had read New Moon from beginning to the end, and now I'm reading Breaking Dawn, the order of it doesn't sound quite right since I jump the third book, still I had read a few reviews on Eclipse so I'm confident that I know what the plotline was about so I had no worry following the plot of BD. Plus, since I'm not going to waste my money to even order a copy of Eclipse or Twilight from the library (you got to pay a small fee for your order when using the library's service), I would have to wait to finish all of the four books

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Time for ranting on Stephenie Meyer's (SMeyer for short) 'novel' has arrived! This time it's New Moon, the book 2 of her so-called Twilight 'saga'.
I discovered a copy of New Moon(NM) in the children/teenagers section of public library. So in order to make the most out of public resource, I borrowed it and read I had struggled my way through the whole thing, now there's some opinion I would like to share (not all of them are bad remarks though):
*slight plot-spoiler warning*
1. What is this book doing in the teenager corner of the library? It's not material suits for teenagers, plain and simple. It contents unhealthy relationship, a girl who obviously HAD NO LIFE outside of her boyfriend and lot of suicidal attempts after the said boyfriend dumped her! That would totally screwed up their concept on love and relationship damn it!
Eclipse novella ReviewReview: The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie MeyerEclipse novella Review in Reviews & Guides More Like This
The background of the story:
In Eclipse, book 3 of the Twilight saga series, the 'bad' vampire Victoria wanted to build an army of vampire newborns in order to get even with Bella and the Cullens. To achieve her goal, she created a sidekick called Riley and put him in charge of training/controlling the newborns she had made. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner deals with what is going on with those newly created, confused and blood thirty newborn vampires, and focuses on one of the newborns, a young girl called Bree Tanner.
PS: In this review the word 'vampire' is being used very loosely, not that I actually acknowledge sparkling disco balls really deserve to be called vampires anyway.
The Story itself:
The story is told from Bree Tanner's perspective, and focused on the last few days of her 'second life', Bree had to depend on her new vampiric convent/group for survival even though she felt no co

For some reason I like the idea of Jacob and Leah, the two Indian werewolves characters from the Twilight series to be together as a couple, since Jacob/Leah never happened in the original story, so I toyed with all the could-have-been and here's what Jaocb/Leah should look like, my plot followed the original novels closely, but the annoying 'vampires' and the even more annoying 'heroine' Bella were not the focus of the story:
Jacob Black: a werewolf shapeshifter who unluckily chose to waste most of his time fancying Bella Swan, who at first treated him like dirt and then leading him on selfishly. He was second in command in Sam's werewolves pack before he separated himself from the pack together with Leah and Seth. By most parts Jacob was a likeable teenager in Twilight and New Moon, until SMeyer turned him into a rapist-in-training in Eclipse and a pedophile in Breaking Dawn.

I'd read all three books, there're things I like and things I don't like in The Hunger Games trilogy. This time I'll focus on the things I found disappointing in the trilogy.
Let's get down to business and state the problems!
At first she's okay, in book 1 she's quite a solid and reliable character, she has her flaws but well, no one is perfect and I accepted it. However, as the story goes further she becomes increasingly difficult for me to sympathize with. Instead of growing from a girl who merely wants to survive to something more than just this, from book 1 to book 3 her character growth is, pitiful at best.
It annoys me that she seems to feel no guilt toward Peeta before, during and after she used him in the Games--alright maybe she'd feel guilty for a mere second now and then but hardly acts upon it, not until Catching Fire. In book 2 and 3, I hoped again and again that Katniss would become less sel

I'm not going to repeat the arguments which I had already expressed in Part 1.
But before I start, allow me to tell you a few reasons why I was still reading The Host despite all the boredom and stupidity I had already recognized when I was half way through:
1. i don't criticize books that i haven't finished reading.
2. the book is easy to read, with barely any complication or subplot to catch up with; plus i don't even have to check the dictionary for most part.
3. there're a great deal of LOL materials within that so-called SF

My good friend ahmtal sent me the pdf of the whole Twilight series last week, but reading novel on the PC screen is not such a good idea, my eyes soon started to get tired before I managed to finish the first few chapters of Twilight.
And I'm already not able to believe half of the things Meyer had put into her book. (i.e. everyone in school knew who Bella was, half of the school went to visit her after the would-be car accident, etc etc.)
But then today when I accompanied my mother to visit her friend, I ended up visiting the local public library and found a copy of The Host on the shelf, so I sat down and began to read, it took me an hour to reach page 150(Chapter 12 or 13) then I had to leave to join my mom again.

So here comes the final book of The Hunger Games trilogy. The first two books, the story of a girl struggled to survive in a dystopian society had showed a lot of promise, now it's time to see if the author would make the most out of those potentials.
Before I get to the actual story, I want to mention The Tank Man, an anonymous Chinese man who stood alone before a column of tanks on June 5, 1989, in Beijing, one day after the June 4 Tiananmen Square massacre,

EPISODE PITCH FOR HANNAH MONTANA FINAL EPISODE
"Hannah Montana Goes To Hell"
Dear Michael Poryes,
I have heard that you are currently in production on the final season of Hannah Montana for the Disney Channel. We all will miss the show, although we will surely get reruns and merchandise. This will be a pleasure to you as you will get all the money you can contain. So I want to give you ideas for the final episode of the fourth season. I hope you accept the idea and start production as soon as you can, adding the best scripting possible.
It begins with Miley Stewart deciding that she should not retire from her pop career as Hannah Montana, so she arranges to record her new single and prepare for the concert. Robby Stewart helps Miley on the songwriting. She predicts that she will make the best song she has ever written. Lilly Truscott, Oliver Oken and Jackson Stewart agree to manage the instruments for her band, and the Jonas Brothers come to co-operate in vocal talen

Getting the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD box set for birthday and watching every single cartoon on the discs, my interest in the Looney Tunes has risen just about as high as the Muppets when I first saw Jason Segel's movie. I even looked at my old Looney Tunes annuals and found the comics funny as a 20 year old, the best coming from Dave Alvarez. One of those comics was a Lola Bunny comic in which she went on a Lara Croft style adventure which turned out to be another day in her life as a pizza delivery girl. Later came Who Framed Roger Rabbit's 25th anniversary, and I imagined what life would be like for cartoon characters with the current state of the animation industry. The next month, I watched their newest Cartoon Network sitcom, and the more of it I watched, the more I thought, "You know what? I think I'll review Space Jam!"

The Magic Roundabout is a decent film. For you Americans, it's rare. You'd only find it as a godawful butchery done by the creator of The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom. So just like I reviewed all main versions of The Thief and the Cobbler, I am going to review both the original version of this film as well as Doogal.
Now tell me, is it normal to see your childhood memories turned CGI and put in a thrilling adventure? Not at all. Dougal (Robbie Williams) is hungry as usual, Ermintrude (Joanna Lumley) is still a singer and Dylan (Bill Nighy) is still a guitar-playing hippie, only he can play classic rock in this film when he's in the mood. Only a new villain has arrived; Zeebad (Tom Baker), another icy villain. I remember reading a page about this film in a kid's magazine and the magazine accused Zebedee of being the villain. FAIL.
Anyway, Zeebad freezes the roundabout (carousel if you're North American) with all the kids including Florence trapped inside, and so the only ones lef

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is the best damn thing to come out of Sony Pictures Animation's lineup. It pokes fun at its own tropes, expresses wonderfully colourful and cartoonish animation, is hilarious, introduces delightful characters, makes you hungry and casts Mr. T. It was one of the most entertaining animations of 2009. A couple of years later, when the appreciation for Sony was rising they botched their potential by cashing in on the critically bashed Alvin and the Chipmunks trilogy with The Smurfs, which featured Grouchy Smurf flirting with Ms. Green from the M&M's ads.
They eventually followed that up with another satisfying and inventive film, Arthur Christmas, a co-production with Aardman, and all was forgiven until after a return to clay came Genndy Tartakovsky's Hotel Transylvania, which kept not critics and not only kids but animation geeks interested for its zany animation and intriguing concept with a lack of focus on its uninspired gags that consist of typical, o

When I watched this pile of bull from the creators of Ratatoing, I felt like puking. The Little Panda Fighter is even worse than Ratatoing in my opinion. It was just awful. Haven't DreamWorks even heard of the cheap studio that made this?
Okay, so the story is about a panda who wants to do martial arts. No, this is not Kung Fu Panda. This is something 65% different. The panda's name is Pancada and he also dreams of being a ballet dancer while cleaning the Bear Box Bar. Grizzly Elliot much? (OK, that was a bad pun.) The world he lives in doesn't contain just any animal. It's bears only. His friends are a naked anthromorphic female bear named Beth and a snot-nosed, tall-headed bear with Yogi Bear's collar named Catotinha, who sounds like Mandark from Dexter's Lab. His boss is a tough polar bear named Polaris, who has posters of lame Brazilian bear parodies of fighting films in his office. Every bear strangely enough has three fingers on each paw.

The last four months of 2009 are mostly happy when it comes to movies with ratings below PG-13/12A. Food from the sky, a chance to see two Pixar classics again, a lie to change everything in a world where lies or religion don't exist, lots of happy romance going on, a magical door that leads to a world beyond your wildest imagination, big friendly creatures playing with a little boy, an anime franchise revival, a last chance to memorise the King of Pop, a famous Christmas tale being awesome-fied, woodland creatures having fun, a friendly retro planet getting discovered and two royals/frogs keeping a currently-disrespected company alive.
And then we get 2012.

This had got to be one of the worst and most shocking ideas in the history of animated features. It's so terrible that not even Rotten Tomatoes could list it. It's basically the story of Titanic, only butchered by some dumb Italians. The characters are unoriginal, the plot is missing and there is too much repetition. And it's directed to kids, so you'll know what will happen in the end... *shudder* If you're wondering why this was called "The Legend Goes On", there were a couple of other European animated Titanic films before this one. But, "Legend"? Oh my God. Did they even feel sorry for the 1500+ that died on the real Titanic accident, or did they just think it was a legend after seeing James Cameron's version? I haven't seen the Cameron version yet, but I wish to in the near future.
The plot is about a young girl named Angelica (Don Bluth's Anastasia) who lives with her stepmother Gertrude (Lady Tremaine from Cinderella) and ugly stepsisters, Hortensia and Bernice (wha

Have any of you watched an animated film by Camillo Teti called "Titanic: The Legend Goes On", which I reviewed months ago? I feel bad for you if you have. Real bad. But if you think that was bad, prepare for something worse. It's Italian, the plot is weak, the characters are unlikable, there's mice and there's a happy ending, but no, there's no rapping dog. What could there be that's so stupid in this movie? Well, wait and see, in this review of a rare movie that deserved to be rare - Orlando Corradi's The Legend of the Titanic.
Where do I start? This film is about some grandfather mouse named Top Connors living in New York who tells his grandchildren about his journey on the Titanic. I don't know when this movie takes place, and when he was young he sounded like Bob Hoskins on helium, very inappropriate for his girlish appearance, so if this takes place in the time this movie was released (1999) and the mouse was about 40-ish in human years in 1912, does that mean th
