It was the same basement as always: dark and dusty with only a few things in it. Small rays of light were shining through the basement windows . In the middle of the basement, there were three chairs on the left and the right and one in between. Theian, Girido, and Eig'nia sat in the chairs on the left and Alex and Z'haer sat next to an empty chair on the right. That empty chair was mine. My dad sat in the chair in the middle.
Today was my birthday. Today I turned eleven years old. Most kids my age would probably be having a party and eating some delicious cake with their friends and parents and getting birthday presents. But this year was different for me
"Today is a most glorious day. For it is on this day that my son, Jakol, comes of age." My dad said.
I stood by the entrance to the basement, looking around at everyone nervously, their eyes all focused on me. I took a deep breath and exhaled. My heart was pounding rapidly. I thought it was going to

Leocyn stopped at the Cave of his new hiding place. It was farther away from the destroyed town than the first. Walking into the cave, he Purged his storage stomach. The bulge rising to his throat, then to his mouth, until he lowered his head and spat Derrek out.
Derrek gasped for breath. He was soaked in preservative juices and saliva. Getting to his feet, he flicked hs hands to try to get rid of the goo. "I think I just became claustrophobic." Derrek turned to Leocyn and scowled. "What in the world was that for? That Dragon killed my father and you have a conversation with it. Then you eat me! And what was this about the Slayers? It don't give a damn what that is, now that my dads dead! Yet, you eat me and-"

Derreks dad leaned against the broken wall with his hand, a small gun in the other. Suddenly, the thuds from behind him stopped abruptly. Then, Derrek saw him stand up straight, and his eyes focus. He stared at Derrek for a long moment, silent. With the last of his breath, he called out, "Run!"
The beast from inside the school charged out of the hole, and bit down its jagged teeth around the man's body, a loud cracking sound was heard. The dragon raised its head and swallowed. The gun fell to the ground, his dad's hand still gripping it. The beast then soured into the air, rising higher and higher into the air, and began to circle around the school.
Rage began to fill Derrek.

Rain dwindled over the village of the Sapaake. The night was young, but no light came from the stars or the crescent moon. The rain showered the forest to lay it at rest as the inhabitants took shelter. The village was a permanent settlement. Wood homes and fertile fields of corn e made the village a success, as well as good hunting in the woods. The passing of the storm gave no sleep for the young Sapaake boy on his bed. He tossed and turned, not able to sleep.
After a while, his father, one of the elders of the village came in. "Son, are nightmares troubling you?" he asked, already knowing the answer as the young boy nodded groggily. Then father smiled warmly and said, "Then let us make you something special."
Father walked back to the center room of the hut, where the fire was burning in a circle of stones. Around it were finely woven ropes, a thick chunk of wood cleaned of bark, feathers and beads of several colors
White Flame, Burning Rain - TFGasping for breath, a massive, feathered and furred beast pounded down the hillside, struggling to keep its aching, massive wings from dragging along the ground. Not too far from where the beast was flying, a pair of humans were trying to make their way home, trying to avoid the pouring rain. They were moving in and out of the archways of buildings, attempting to keep as dry as possible.
"Oh man, this rain came out of nowhere!" Peter, one of the duo commented to his friend, Dsarvess. The two had been out doing a bit of late night food shopping when the heavens suddenly opened up on them.
Draconic Embrace- Charizard TFIt was a quiet, peaceful night as Peter, a Pokémon trainer, was sitting back against the side of his house, looking up quietly at the stars. Aerodactyl was worn out from the flight back home, so he thought that it was probably already asleep. He still doesn't know why when he passed the soap and shampoo shelf, he had to stop and look. Something had caught his attention: a bright red AXE bottle.

A door slid open and two men walked out from a hallway and into a darkly lit room, dragging two teenagers behind them. The teenagers were unconscious, their feet dragging behind them and their heads lulling from side to side.
The room the group entered looked like a lab of some kind. Before them there was steps leading down into the lower quarters of the lab at both sides. On the top floor facing the door, a big control panel lay, which seemed to control the entire room. It had a tall glass window in front of the panel, blackness coming from behind it.
The shorter man from the pair walked up to the panel and pushed a button on it. The door that the four of them just came through shut immediately. Next, the man pushed a few more buttons and the lights came on, highlighting what lay behind the window. The lower quarters that had once been just darkness, now had long slab-looking tables and different devices beside them, one monitor on each side for each ta

The whole reason we exist as we are today began when humanity was ready to plunge itself into yet another fruitless and bloody war, only by this time, technology was so advanced for them, that one side had engineered a bio-weapon to completely annihilate their opposition by mutating their DNA in horrible and unthinkable, at the time, ways that scared the other side so badly, they had one of their own steal a sample of this bio-weapon in order to make a vaccine.
Unfortunately for them, however, a mistake occurred. The Vaccine was switched with the bio-weapon, and with that occurrence, the bio-weapon, not the vaccine, became mass-produced and marketed as the savior of their

I had got a little medal today; it was shiny, round, and made of gold! But the odd thing about it was its little imprint; a little human shape was on its center, while the back remained clear of anything! It was cool to look at though, so I held it close to me as I covered myself in blankets.
The night outside shone through my window, providing comfort to my fear of the dark, as my nightlight had burned out just the other night, and I had an absolute fear of said darkness, little shapes danced around, and horrifying sounds scared me into submission and tears!
But tonight, tonight was different, with the moon shining inside through my window, I felt oddly peaceful, and with my door shut, and my fears settled, I started to drift off into sleep, feeling safe and sound all alone in my room…

No spoilers, but this story will contain something that will unsettle many, even if it is just implied, my personal take on it will be explained later, until then, LET’S GO!
I along with many others in the crowd gathered tried to find a way to the seats. This was an event certainly, and although being Terran-born, (this place is not Terra nor on it.) I certainly enjoyed the tournaments.
They went in a seemingly simple fashion. This world was one of the ones Pokémon were on yes. However here, they had tournaments, the winner moves on, the loser gets devoured, and if not let out, which wasn’t required, usually killed. Fun.
It certainly wasn’t for the faint of heart. The rules were somewhat strict in what they were.
First, no attacking each other. Second, the humans, usually two in a match, have to run to avoid the opponents Pokémon, and from being lunch. Third, the Pokémon cannot fight each other,
Age of Dragoness, Child of Heart part 1Before we begin, I’d like to ask you who read this, a question. Can we ever not grow up?Age of Dragoness, Child of Heart part 1 in Short Stories More Like This
The answer, is yes, as our bodies age, we learn more and more, and abandon our childish pursuits. But there are some out there still, who hold their inner child close enough to tap into it, to freely express themselves as any child could and does.
I feel my stories are so quick, and yet they do not have the imagination, the thrill, the experience I had imagining them when I was younger.
So now I shall write this, this story, possibly a series, will show just how imaginative I still am, as I feel I’m losing that connection. So let this be a message to all.
In the end, never let your inner child go, as the inner child of a person. Is one of the most powerful, and most loved, parts of a person there is.
Let us begin.

It was winter time for the fishing village of Borük, and life was hard for Jon. His mother had died when he was born and his father several years later by a dragon attack on their farm. He was left homeless, poor and forced to beg for scraps in the street. Jon's sunken blue eyes blinked wearily behind shaggy black hair, and as he sat he slowly shifted a hand to feel the three parallel scars descending his right shoulder to the center of his right breast. The scar was a painful memory of when he had lost his father to the dreaded black dragon. His cheeks were slightly prominent under a thin scruff of beard that had thankfully begun to grow as winter started.
He wore a sackcloth shirt and pants tied at the waist by a rope, both fashioned from empty grain sacks and left over thread he had found near the tailor. He had foot-wraps covering from half way up his thigh to the bal

I sneak up to the boy, and ensnare him in my coils. I squeeze tight, and smile. "Hello... human."
*I am scared of you and struggle to break free*
I tighten my coils and lick your cheek. "Cute. But you're mine now, human."
*I cease the struggling and try to call out for help*
I chuckle and cover your mouth with my tail before laying you down. "Now, now, my little appetizer, there's no need for that." I begin to remove your shoes.
*after the word "appetizer" I begin to struggle more violently*
I let him struggle for a bit, setting his shoes aside, and at once I shoot forward, taking his legs into my maw.
*I give up, seeing no hope of escape*
I smile, feeling you stop struggling, and bring my lips over your belly as I pull your feet into my thoat.
*I start to cry at the thought of dying*
I lap up your tears as I bring my lips to your neck. I lift you up, letting gravity carry you into

The city of Dark Scale. A city of drakes, dragons and wyverns of many sizes and variants. From dragons only a foot tall to dragons that nearly stood over most of the houses. Anthropomorphic dragons, standard dragons, dragons with two legs, earth dragons, flying dragons, swimming dragons.
The city was a maze. Layered with half stone, half cave houses upon houses. The largest dragons took the highest, largest caves, while the smaller dragons took the bottom. The city was massive, was often filled with deafening roars, and smelled like a chess pool, but to these apex lizards, it was home.
And our story begins with one such kind of dragon. The one foot flack dragons, adorned with soft yellow scales and white spines, eyes and claws. This species of dragon was so named for their almost unbreakable bodies. Whether eaten, stepped on or clawed at, these small dragons were resilient. Their bones were stro

A thick white fog filled the air as the forest grew humid and the sun barely shown through the white puffy clouds overhead. Carter stirred, his body stiff, and grunted as he sat up.
"Ugh... at least the rain stopped... right Lola?" He smirked, but stopped when he heard nothing. He rubbed his eyes, and as they blinked open Lola was nowhere to be seen. Carter stood quickly, but grunted with pain and fell back to his knees. He steadied himself with a hand, and slowly stood.
"Lola!" He called out. "Where are you?!" He continued, a frantic worry in his voice. He couldn't believe he left Lola unguarded last night. What if something happened to her? Carter stumbled out of the cave, wheezing from his beaten body, and fell to a knee again as he began to tear up. "Lola..."
"She's gone. But with my help, you can save her." Carter stood quickly and turned to see a gardevoir leaning against the wall beside the cave.

Nya (nye-uh) was a bright young girl, fifteen years of age, blond hair cut to her shoulders. She had bright blue eyes, and her ears ended in a slight point. Not enough to look like an elf's, but not as curvy as a human's. This, along with many of her other features, resulted from having an elven mother and human father. Nya had been taught since she was young how to use basic healing spells from her pacifist mother, as well as an amateur skill with a dagger and short sword from her retired soldier father.
But with all they had taught and told her, none of it seemed to matter as a horde of bloodthirsty, bigoted bandits swept through their town, cutting down all in their path. Nya hid under her bed, hearing the sounds of clashing steel and bloody roars of bandits as they swept through the town. She saw the feet of her mother and the boots of her father in the next room through the doorway, an

Jon climbed higher into the Bright Scale Mountains, and gripped tightly to the rock face as another chilling gust of wind battered him. "Gods... damn... dragons... and their... gods... damn mountains!" Jon growled, reaching forward for another dragon. As Jon continued his hunt for the dragon who killed his father, he had faced beast after terrible beast. In the land of Hic-Monstra, it seemed everything wanted him dead. From naga to dragons, hydra to spider-women, and plenty other creatures lived in the Bright Scale Mountains, so Jon had to watch which trails he took. Jon grabbed the knotted roots of a tree growing out of the cliff side, and pulled his chest onto the flat of the cliff top. He breathed heavily, his face numb from the cold and his hands and feet sore. He lied there for a time, his face lying down in the snow as he tried to regain his strength. He heard som

Danny stretched as he walked out the back door of his house, the morning sunlight warming his face as the day began. Danny looked to see Ekans and Blaze sitting under a tree talking, and approached them.
"You know Blaze, your still on my list of prey... Danny's intervention was lucky for you, but now..." Ekans licked up his back and hummed with amusement as Blaze gasped and scrambled to climb out of her coils. But as Blaze almost cleared them Ekans wrapped around his foot and pulled him back, placing a coil over him and trapping him between it and the ground.
"What are you doing, Ekans?" Danny asked, annoyed.
"Oh, just relaxing with Blaze here." Ekans said with a smile as Blaze pulled himself out from under her coil, only to have another wrap around his neck and pull him back.
Blaze shivered and looked to Danny for help. "...Danny, please stop her..." He muttered.
"Ekans, let him go. You're scaring him." Danny said as he

Nya ran through the forest, hearing the flaps of Jir's wings as he followed overhead. "I'm coming, Nya!" He growled playfully.
"You're not gonna get me!" Nya called back, leaping over another log as Jír swooped down and grabbed the log, snapping it in his hand when he missed her.
"Grr! Get back here!" He landed and ran after her as the forest thickened.
Nya glanced back, seeing him run up to her with his mouth hanging open. "If you think you can catch me that easily, then you have another thing-" she was stopped as she suddenly fell, tumbling down a hill and splashing into a small stream. As she recovered Jír landed in front of her, smiling and holding a hand out to help her.
Nya glared at him, then smiled and brushed her yellow hair from her face. "You knew tha

Dragonia, a world where dragons live side by side with humankind. It was a strange, beautiful place, full of life. (Actually, it was a lot like our own world. Except with dragons who don't think humans taste good with ketchup.)
At first, dragons were giant, monstrous beasts (who could have either fur or scales) who despised humans. However, when one human managed to befriend a dragon, the dragon species changed, becoming more humanlike in mannerism and size, until it was common for dragons to live with and love humans. The romance between human and dragon produced a bizarre sort of offspring: dragons that stood on two legs instead of four, and had human features. They were known as anthro dragons, from the word "anthropomorphic", meaning human-like.
One decade ago, a certain anthro dragon with black fur believed that humans were bad- that they had poisoned dragons into becoming weaklings. He began to att
The Dracophobe- Dragon TF16 year-old Johnny was at his desk in his final period class, the bell five minutes from ringing. He was the spitting image of a popular tenth-grade teen: Cool, bored with life, stuck up. He looked to his right and saw Mary, a girl whom he had a crush on. She was absorbed in a drawing in her lap, paying absolutely no attention to the teacher. Johnny decided to take a peek, and he was horrified at what he saw: She was drawing a dragon. It was beautiful; really, the dramatic vantage point, the exquisite shading, the details picture perfect, but Johnny HATED all lizards with a vengeance, especially dragons. He was afraid of the way lizards walked, their beady little slit pupils, their disgusting, forked tongues, everything. "W-what is that?" he asked Mary. The Dracophobe- Dragon TF in Short Stories More Like This

"Ughhhh " I moaned out. I looked up, my vision fuzzy. My mind swam as I tried to remember the events that had just taken place. I brought my hand up, seeing the familiar green scales. So, I was still a dragon. I remembered, BioTek. Went to the plaza, 'showed the truth', freakin' World War Three starts, and I get shot. I looked down, seeing the white sheets. I was also dressed in a little white apron, and with a little bit of feeling, I knew that it was a hospital bed, uncomfortable and scratchy. Even more uncomfortable was this little, plastic tube I saw inserted down my throat. I gagged a bit, before taking it, and my insides practically crawled as I pulled the tube out, at least two feet of clear plastic filled with brown goop, which was presumably protein compounds, right out of my stomach. I coughed, before I pulled the sheets off a bit, looking down to see my stomach, which was covered in a large bandage, wrapped around my torso. There

Alex shoved his hands deeper into his pockets and kept walking, head lowered and only staring at the asphalt beneath his feet. He was supposed to be home by now, but of course his car just had to break down in the middle of nowhere. Now he had to walk to the nearest gas station for a phone, wherever that may be. He clutched his jacket closer around his body. The wind was sharp and biting, and it certainly wasn't helping Alex's mood. The gusts howled between the tree branches, and at times it sounded so animal-like Alex had to stop and wonder if it wasn't the trees, but an actual creature lurking in the forests. Alex shrugged it off and kept going. He was getting the heebie-jeebies all over.
A loud snap caught his attention, and before Alex could even turn, something very large

It is said that time seems to pass by faster every year you grow older. If this is the case, how fast do you think time has passed by for me, a near-one-hundred year old dragon?
However, I was not born a dragon. I was born human, to a beautiful mother of curled chestnut hair and a father of strong Nordic features, built of muscle like stone. Unfortunately, our family situation was quite unconventional; my mother was a street woman that sold her body, and my father was supposedly a soldier. I never would have known this if I had not have met the darkest time in my life, caused by an even darker force.
I had just finished delivering newspapers on an early Monday morning, and continued my usual routine by riding my bicycle to the park to eat my breakfast and enjoy the sunrise. As I sat on the grassy knolls, watching the sky lighten, I began to see the birds pecking at the ground for food. Today I did not have any bread in my sack that I would be willing to share with the
Story: The Thunder DrumWesley was a young yeoman living on a trawler about the hallowed sea, working to pay for college with other grieved men. With the other 12 men that lived on the boat, Wesley was the most sensitive, he liked to write poetry about the clouds and how he wished he was a bird of some sort that could soar through them. Most of his peers weren't very kind and insulted Wesley any chance they got; they'd say things like: "Day dreaming about the water bags above us again ay Wes?" or "Oh boy sky boy is having another break down!" Wesley was very troubled by these mean words, but he eventually could see past them and understand that he was just as confused as his attackers in this crazy world. Wesley was kind and generous, but it was hard to see considering he couldn't express it much his "friends" who were more rough and businesslike than he. However in this coming day Wesley was going to change dramatically in both spirit and mind, and bodyStory: The Thunder Drum in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
