So, like many, I think the Nintendo 2DS is pretty stupid. But where others go on to criticize Nintendo and screaming bloody murder, I chose to just let it slide because the Nintendo 2DS isn't meant for me so I don't really care one way or the other.
See this is the problem I see with people who bitch and moan about Nintendo. They treat every single announcement like it somehow personally affects them, when usually it's an OPTIONAL thing they don't have to even deal with. Remember during the casual vs hardcore wars of the Wii era and people decrying Nintendo for adding the option to let Luigi play a level of NSMBWii if you failed too many times? Brilliant idea that ensures that players that work at it succeed and never see the option, and players that are duly frustrated after dying X number of times are allowed to still proceed but at a cost. But nope, that announcement was treated a

Say what you will about Anita Sarkeesian, you gotta admit that people do take note of what she says for good or ill. In this piece of news, it's for the good.
As you might already know, in her latest video she outlined a simple "damsel frees herself" video game. Nothing too spectacular but it showcased how one can subvert the typical trope and make a strong female character out of it. While many were quick to criticize her for not making the game herself (given her kickstarter success), others took a more direct approach and actually made a game in 2 weeks.
The game is called "Sorry Mario Bros," and the plot is that Princess Peach decides to rescues herself by leaving Bowser's castle in world 8-4. You progress right to left through familiar, but slightly altered, original Mario Bros. worlds working your way backwards towards world 1-1. Along the way you can take detours and use Peach's float ability to reach hidden areas and collect "princess coins."
The Derpy Issue Part 4 (final)Alright, so now we get to the crux of the matter. Hasbro has finally made a statement:The Derpy Issue Part 4 (final) in Personal More Like This
"The 'My Little Pony Friendship is Magic' series has always been about acceptance and inclusion, and the series strives to convey that through the playful antics of a diverse cast of characters. Some viewers felt that aspects of the episode 'The Last Roundup' did not stay true to the core message of friendship which is the heart and soul of the series. Hasbro Studios decided to make slight audio alterations to this single episode."
NOW would be the appropriate time to start getting all freaked out over this issue. Personally, I am not going to worry too much. I am disheartened that they've chosen to respond this way, but I am not surprised. Hasbro is a corporation, they have to think of their image. "Derpy" is a debatable term that can either mean "goofy and silly" or "insulting towards disabled people" and frankly I agree that this is not an appropriate word to be used for a kids TV show
Wii U Launch TitlesRemember when the Wii launched in 2006 with just a gamecube port of Zelda, a horribly broken Red Steel, and a handful of party games? That's not gonna happen with the Wii U. Along with the recent announcement of Bayonetta 2 being a Wii U exclusive title, Nintendo has just announced that there will be a staggering 23 games available on launch day. While many of the titles are ports of other games, there are still a huge selection of titles that I, a gamer who doesn't have access to a Ps3 or 360, would really enjoy being able to play finally.Wii U Launch Titles in Personal More Like This

Winnie The Pooh 2011 Movie ReviewTo be honest I was rather underwelmed by this movie, which is disappointing because I had such high hopes for it. To be fair it's a perfectly good movie, above average in a lot of ways... but since it was framed as a sequel to the original 1970's Pooh, I felt that overall it was lacking something.Winnie The Pooh 2011 Movie Review in Personal More Like This
This is the hardest part to explain. I don't know what exactly didn't catch me the same way other Pooh related stuff has in the past. Even the 1980's TV show "Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" felt more connected to the original movie than this one did.
Part of it is probably the animation. While Disney animation is always phenomenal, as they are one of THE best animation studio in the whole world... something about this movie felt very... cheap to me. Some of the animation felt very floaty to me, an issue I have only previously encountered with Dreamworks.
There were a lot of sight gags that flash by pretty quickly too. I remember reading that they wanted to "modernize" Pooh for

We go through this every year, but it never seems to sink in. E3 is a trade show, not a fanboy convention. E3 is about the respective companies getting up on stage and showcasing their plans for the future and the products that will continue to make their investors money. E3 isn't even open to the public, yet every single year it's the same old dance of fans complaining "why wasn't ____ shown?"
The people who follow E3 coverage need to remember that they are not the actual target audience of the convention. Yes, you and I probably don't care about casual games and want more info on hardcore titles, but their investors want to know about them because they know it's going to make them oodles of money. Also, to be fair, you don't need big lavish presentations of huge blockbuster titles to know whether or not you're gonna buy them. That's why most of the companies only give a glimpse of them because they're always huge sellers anyway, they don't need to remin

Bla bla bla. Independence. 1776. America. John Adams. Hooray.
So there's been this "internet declaration of independence" that's been going around the web recently, and to be honest I think it's a load of bull. As much as I love free speech and rights and etc, I simply can't get behind it, and it disturbs me that so many companies ARE getting behind it. There's just too much entitlement from people on the internet who think they "deserve" everything, and it's really beginning to creep me out. I'm all for abolishing SOPA and ACTA other things like it, but I just can't in good faith get behind the "internet declaration of independence." Sorry.

You know, I was on the fence about the new Smash Bros game. Even with Mega Man I didn't really see anything remarkable about the game to peak my interest. But then when Nintendo unveiled the Wii Fit personal trainer as a playable character? F**k Yeah! Bludgeon your opponents to death with YOGA moves? That's the sort of nonsensical whimsy that I think was sorely lacking from this version of franchise. Count me in!
Still not sure how the 3DS and Wii U version are going to interact with each other, if at all. Iwata has said that the 3DS will have different stages, so that suggests that they aren't compatible. But then, if they're not compatible, why put out 2 games at once? Frankly, I like the idea of being able to play against Wii U opponents from the comfort of my 3DS. That would be really cool, but I don't know if that's a thing they're looking to do or not. Hmm..
PS: Maybe it's just me, but I found it rather hilarious how all the characters were practicing Yoga

It is not quite like anything you’ve probably ever seen before. The story follows “Zee Captain” and his sidekicks as they amble through a post-apocalyptic landscape. And while that hardly seems new and different, it’s the unusually superlative graphic quality of the comic cells and the Monty Pythonesque dialogues and leaps of logic that can become quite mesmerizing. Zee Captain, his face hidden by a gas mask that gives him a Darth Vaderish look, wears what looks like a Soviet Red Army uniform from WWII, and the strip does have nourish WWII feel. Aku has had one major success to his name but it's a fair major one: the complete domination of the world in the future. He also has the rather brilliant idea of casting his rival into a vortex so that he can gain this control. Mako turned in a great performance in the role equal parts intimidating as well as silly at times. The reason he's low is because as a character he was a bit of a blank. Why he wanted to take control when he didn't really do much with his influence and what he strove to gain by living alone in his fiery fortress was unclear, but he made for a memorable and unique villain.

Games and films are rife with the trend of digging up old franchises to garner some degree of excitement in the community; a promise for a return to the basics that made digital and cinematic entertainment enjoyable in days before. Its a shame that energy and promotion isn't turned towards marketing new ideas and more original franchises, but if there must be reboots and remakes a plenty I felt like offering some suggestions to allow the classic tales of old to shine in a new light. Because I enjoy movies a lot I have an invested interest in improving them which is why I spend so much effort tearing some of them apart. Even movies I dislike I don't think are beyond saving as pieces of quality entertainment.
The Mummy is not deep, it's not Shakespearian, it's not always entirely logically sound.
But it was and remains a darn good time.
For one thing The Mummy is several genres coupled together but not at odds: Action, Humor, and Horror.
A lot of films believe they need to compromise on genre elements to transition between diverse emotions, atmospheres and story types, but The Mummy managed to blend these three subtypes into a near perfect and consistent mix.
When things are meant to be scary, they are! When there

Clearly reboots, remakes, prequels and sequels are the big selling point for movie making companies nowadays and as long as they stay successful there's no reason to believe anything changing in terms of priorities.
So instead, why can't we at least do something about making these reboots better?
Reboots/Remakes aren't just singular projects anymore: they're intended to be tentpoles for entire franchises. Even the upcoming Star Wars movie is supposed to be the launching pad for an entirely new series of films, hence why it isn't usually officially called Episode 7.

Here are the 10 habits of remarkably charismatic people:
1. They listen way more than they talk.
Ask questions. Maintain eye contact. Smile. Frown. Nod. Respond--not so much verbally, but nonverbally.
That's all it takes to show the other person they're important.
Then when you do speak, don't offer advice unless you're asked. Listening shows you care a lot more than offering advice, because when you offer advice in most cases you make the conversation about you, not them.
Don't believe me? Who is "Here's what I would do..." about: you or the other person?
Only speak when you have something important to say--and always define important as what matters to the other person, not to you.
2. They don't practice selective hearing.
Some people--I guarantee you know people like this--are incapable of hearing anything said by the people they feel are somehow beneath them.

It was so humbling.

I was talking to one, an englishman in his sixties, who had spent decades on the road drumming for various metal bands.
He was quite tipsy. I am not a smoker, but we were having a smoke together and chatting about music. Everyone at the event had gotten quite drunk (well, not me, I don't drink), and at a certain buzz level everyone had to go smoke. I wanted to hang with all the drunk European smokers and young kids.
As we were talking his daughter came over. She was overweight, and wearing a short clingy dress that left nothing to the imagination.
She wanted to know where they were sitting for the event. Well, Dad couldn't find the card. He was shoveling through all the pockets in his well-worn coat, and she offered to help. I offered to hold his beer.
So there I was, standing witness to this rather personal, intimate father/daughter moment.

I remember seeing the beginning of it a year or so back and thinking "OMFG what are they thinking!!!!", and then life went on, and then I got the film to score and...
It was frigging great. The people who put it together, whom I have been working with for some time, REALLY did a GREAT job, and I really enjoyed scoring it, and it just is friggin' great.
Going to the premiere tomorrow here in Lala land.
Everyone worked so hard on this thing, and it shows. In every frame, in every line.
And everyone felt that the music totally elevated the film, so I did my job as well.

You're makin it hard for me to find stuff to call.
I suppose this is technically the last episode for you this season. Wish we could celebrate somehow. It's been a solid, solid season for music score. You and your team are definitely killin it, and i'm sure the Bronies will feel it too. They're gonna have youtube videos where they extract the dialogue and SFX and just listen to the score!
Thanks for an awesome third season!

I watched the birds, saying nothing for a minute. But then I said:

And look at how their beaks are made to stick deep into the sand to burrow for crabs. And look how elegantly they hold their position against the wind, and how they can fly for great distances across the open sea."
We stared at the birds.
"They are beautiful, dad."
"I know, Eleanor. It's a little sad."
"Well, Eleanor, it is because of humans that they are distracted from their noble, original purpose. And what of our original purpose? Are we so much different? Look at us, chasing after cars, money, power, fashion, position. How much different ar

Secondly, and more importantly, we are extremely excited to announce that our charity website is up and running. It took a few extra weeks but we think it was worth it. We have some great posters and t-shirts featuring some of the art that was seen in PONIES: The Anthology II. Do you want to know the best part? All profits from every sale go to charity! Hi everyone and everypony! I’m finding it difficult to believe that in less than a week we’ll be waist deep in the Friendship is Magic season finale. It seems like just the other day we were fangasming over the season premier. Now, here we are, 24 episodes down and but a pair remain. This season has been amazing. So much more than any of us really expected. The return of Luna, tons of Derpy, Lyra and Bon Bon hanging out, an unexpected Trixie shout-out, Dragons, more griffins, Time Travel, masked crusaders, self-help minotaurs, and plenty of incontrovertible proof that all the ponies in this town really ARE are crazy.
It’s been a brilliant season and a wonderful experience. We’re awash in conventions and gatherings; we have show-accurate toys and favorite background characters to look forward to. Derpy’s name was spoken and she was given voice.
Save Our DerpySave Our Derpy in Personal More Like This
No doubt you’ve all seen or heard the hullabaloo around Ye Olde Intertubes in the days and weeks following our beloved Derpy’s named appearance in the FIM episode The Last Roundup. What began as a campaign by trolls wreak havoc was soon picked up by well-meaning-but-misguided bronies and fans. The controversy stems from the mistaken belief that the word “derpy” is synonymous with mentally challenged. Obviously, it’s not. Rather it means clutzy or accident prone. Further, fans maintained that her slightly-husky voice in the episode was an attempt to mock people with learning disabilities. Again, untrue. Voiced by actor Tabitha St. Germain, Derpy was mistakenly thought to be a boy pony and was based on a young boy who lives next door to Ms. St. Germain.
This tempest in a teapot stirred up around the fandom has now exploded into what seems to be a PR-pushback by Hasbro.

I draw some stuff and spend most of my time just talking with awesome people and enjoying a sense of community with all you wonderful friends, bronies, and Equestrians. But I have noticed, at least within the past month or so, a slow march away from all the good and noble and kind behavior that has been a hallmark of out fandom since its inception. Specifically, this has been taking the form of pretty nasty and harsh criticisms of the show itself, from episode to episode. I don’t know if this is coming from a sense of familiarity with the source material or perhaps it’s the fact the creators and producers have been so open to interacting with us t

It is an easy trap to fall into, this concept of popularity and the desire to metric what others think of us and our art. Certainly, places like Deviant Art and Tumblr are very good at giving us raw numbers on which to balance our self-esteem and self-worth.
And so, I must say this to myself as a reminder TO myself as much as anyone else- Do not covet numbers or popularity. Instead take pride in what you’re doing and strive to be the best for your own, personal reasons and motivations. Pursue that which inspires you, and, above all, nomatter what, be joyful in that which you create.

And even adding their own twists into the story like new songs, making the character in the Chanticleer role have more screen-time and a background story; or even add in the full lyrics of the good songs that were cut short/covered by too much narrations.

If there were 7 members, then they would represent the Deadly Sins (which is basically the ironic name for them).
Zavok (the big red guy) = Wrath
Zeena (the curvaceous green girl) = Lust (obvious reasons)
Zor (the mopey purple guy) = Sloth
Zomom (the fat yellow guy) = Gluttony
Zazz (the crazy pink guy) = Pride (he's full of himself)
Master Zik (the shortest and eldest one) = Envy (although he denies it)
All they need left is a member to represent "Greed" and they'll be complete.
And as a bonus, I am thinking about drawing them in a crossover as students (and teacher) at Monsters University and interacting the MU characters.
I saw Night at the Museum 3 YesterdayI didn't know it was still in theaters, but it was.I saw Night at the Museum 3 Yesterday in Personal More Like This
Anyways, I watched it to honor the lost of Robin Williams (who played Teddy Roosevelt), God rest his soul.
And it was the best way to end the series (but let's just hope they don't make anymore after it just like what Pixar's doing to Toy Story, they just won't let it go and end it at the 3rd movie).
Surprisingly, there was not a single villain nor antagonist in the movie.
I meant it, not a single one!
The three old guards from the first film (one of them being played by the late Mickey Rooney) have reformed & rehabilitated, and not a single mentioning of Kahnmun Ra (from the second movie).
*Spoiler's* However there is one new character who you think is the villain, but he's just in a delusional state thinking that he is the real-deal of the historic figure he is based off of, just like a certain space-toy *hint-hint* .
Rest in peace Mr. Rooney & Mr. Williams, now you two are apart of history like the characters you've pl

The 7D Thoughts(for those who don't know) The "7D" is the latest Disney cartoon of the Seven Dwarfs from "Snow White."The 7D Thoughts in Personal More Like This
However it absolutely has no connection to the classic film (despite that the dwarfs share the same names as the original ones from the movie), but the premises in the show actually would make an interesting prologue/prequel to the movie.
As a show on it's own, while not as good as "Wander Over Yonder" or the new "Mickey Mouse shorts", it's still a good, innocent, and enjoyable show.
Some parts of the episodes actually made me laugh, and the design & character of the dwarfs are starting to grow on me [Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey are so aDwarfable ].
And the villains are in show, Grim & Hildey Gloom, while not as serious as Queen Grimhilde, but are a delightful set of antagonists.
But tell me if they ring any bells to a duo that's similar to them?
*The villains are a man & a woman that try to be serious, but come
Quitting College Isn't That BadAnyone seen the ending of the movie "Monsters University"?Quitting College Isn't That Bad in Personal More Like This
The two main characters never finished college, and yet they made their dreams come true by working their way slowly to the top at the place I always wanted to work at.
The reason why I brought this subject up is because there is one annoying person (I dare not speak their name because it's against the rules here) that thinks I'm an idiot just because I dropped out of art school 3 years ago.
I had no choice but to quit because I never fit in that art class (except for that Anime Club).
My teachers were terrible (one even made me cry), the lessons had nothing to do animation, and don't even get me started on my room-mates.
It was either to drop out, or work miserably and be treated like mud for 4 years.
If one's not happy with what they are doing, they shouldn't waist their lives suffering to get to what they want in live.
Besides, that happened to another famous artist/artistic mind *cough* Walt Disney * .

It's not just the fact that Michael Bay was going to them into aliens (until he changed his mind) it's also these reasons
*Megan Fox is not a very good actress under Bay's name (her Tranformer character basically had no personality, and just there to please guys with too much sugar in their hormones).
*The non-real characters are going to be done in CGI and Motion-Capture
*Remember what he did to Transformers?
Plus, the movie had be put on hold 3 times. If a movies been postponed for so long, it's not a good sign for the movie.
Look what happened to "Hoodwinked 2," Burger King released there kid's meal toys in January 2010, but the actual movie wasn't released until 2011 in November.
If the movie is actually happening, I'm gonna skip it and stick with the Nickelodeon cartoon.
I wouldn't even watch it if someone dragged me to go see it
