ZADR Orange Chapter 025
To say the very least, Zim's arm was in pain as he pulled it back to himself to cradle gently and let out a small sob. "Dib..." the others name slipped past his lips as he went back to curl up next to Dib, really hoping he didn't get any worse by morning.
After a few hours of sleep however, Dib began to wake back up once more, the painkiller Zim had given him beginning to wear off. Opening his eyes to find the room he was in completely dark, he was only able to see the shadows being cast across the walls of Zim's lab.
So sitting himself up slowly to have a better look around, he couldn't help but let out a pained yelp and double over in his spot with his arms wrapped around his stomach when he tried to locate the Irken in the room. "Z-Zim?" his voice shook a bit as he called out the others name in the dark.

When Dib offered him the blanket, Zim couldn't help but sigh. This was not what he had actually had in mind though he accepted it still, snuggling into the warmth anyways. "Can you stay with me?" he then asked, looking up at the boy sadly, his eyes begging for Dib to lay down next to him.
"O-Of course! I-I wouldn't leave you..." Dib said quickly, kneeling down near the Irken again and leaning in to press another kiss to his forehead before resting his head on Zim's chest comfortably.
Smiling at this, Zim brought his arms up to wrap around Dib. "Thank you..." he thanked the other before closing his eyes tiredly.
Finding the Irken's neck to nuzzle his face into, Dib responded by placing a gentle kiss there.

Gaz couldn't take it anymore. She was sick and tired of having to listen to her father complain about every imperfection he found in Dib. So dropping her video game, she couldn't help but send Professor Membrane an icy glare. "Dad, SHUT UP! We ARE lumped together! I'm gay too!" she voiced out before stomping her way over to the stairs to the lab. "If you were home more, you would have known this about us!" she turned to scream back at him before storming down the stairs, just mad enough at Membrane to help Dib save Zim.
Jumping at the sound of his sister stomping down the stairs, Dib quickly turned his head to look back at her. "G-Gaz?" he couldn't believe his eyes as he watched her come up next to him so she could kneel down and take up her own towel to help him dry Zim off.

WE ALL KNOW YOU WANT TO!" he countered back, throwing Dib slightly off guard.
A new flood of tears streaming down his cheeks, Dib had by now sunk down in his spot even more at Zim's own words. "B-But I...I don't...I-I don't want that...All I want is to be with my mom again..." his voice came out in a quiet whisper as he bowed his head and began crying uncontrollably to himself, no longer having the fight left in him to argue with Zim or even speak at this point.

Dib wasn't sure how to respond. As it seemed to him, Zim had already thought up everything to put into the disguise. So blushing a bit at the other's question, Dib merely shook his head slowly. "Well...Uhm...No. I think I'm good for now...U-Unless there was something you wanted to add! Y-You could go ahead if you wanted to...j-just to see if I'd like it or not..." he threw in quickly, deciding Zim had every right to make changes of his own to it just like he had.
Seeming to think it over for a moment, Zim quickly turned back to the screen and began scribbling a little more onto it, a small smirk on his face as he did so. "There. That should do it...Now just stand on that tile, and we'll get it on you." he said, pointing to the tile he was referring to.

Watching Gaz's back as she was about to leave, Zim quickly spoke up to catch her attention again. "About what?" he asked, wanting to know what was so important that Dib's father felt the need to send Gaz all the way over here to tell Dib.
"Well, for starters, he's missed out on at least three days of school this week, but what really caught his attention were Dib's grades on the report cards they just sent out a few days ago. Apparently, he's failing in two or three classes." Gaz said from her spot, turning her head to send Dib a pointed glare.
Knowing himself that he hadn't been doing all too well this semester due to falling asleep during classes after late nights spying on Zim, Dib paled somewhat.
"School shmool. What good will that place ever be in his life?"

"I just know! You always lie to me!"

Dib let go of Zim. "Fine! You can go! I already know you're not going to give me anything no matter how interesting you try to make it sound to me!" he sent Zim a truly hurt look before turning and shuffling away.
"HEY! Zim didn't lie!" Zim grabbed Dib and jerked him back around to plant a big kiss right on his lips.
Eyes growing wide at the small gesture, Dib could only blink a few tears out of his eyes before pulling away with blush, taking a few steps back as he brought his hands up to play with his fingers shyly, gaze fixed on the ground beneath him."Wh-Why did you kiss me? Returning to the base about 45 minutes later, Gaz entered Zim's bedroom without even knocking this time, a small bag of various items in hand. "How is he?" she asked, placing the bag on the bed and looking up at Zim.
Looking up from Dib, Zim could only shake his head slowly. "I'm not sure...He's still asleep." he responded, petting back a bit of Dib's hair.

"One bottle of water," Zim said to the lady in the concession stand. She fished one out of the ice-filled cooler and set it on the counter.
"One dollar," she said.
Zim dug a dollar bill out of her pocket and gave it to her, then picked up the bottle. The ice-cold water clinging to its outside made him flinch as it burned his skin. He quickly handed it to Gaz and wiped his hand off on his pant leg.
"Thanks." She twisted the lid off and drank deeply. They walked back to where Dib was sitting. "You sure Dib won't get jealous?" she asked.

Dib lowered his binoculars and leaned back against the trunk of the tree he was perched in. It was recess and he was doing his usual spying on Zim. They were in Hi-Skool by now and Zim hadn’t managed to take over Earth yet. Not that anyone really expected him to. He’s shown his incompetency so many times Dib stopped worrying about him long ago. He just liked observing the many odd quirks the alien had.
His curiosity was piqued slightly. What function did the antennae serve? As long as he’s known Zim and he’s never really figured it out. He assumed they were for hearing and expressing emotion, as they often shot straight up when their owner was surprised or laid down flat when he was angry. But was that all they were for?

That Dib-child just made Zim so furious sometimes. If it weren't for that monkey, he would have taken over this wretched planet years ago. And it didn't help matters that they were in Hi-Skool by now and Dib was almost seven feet tall. Insanely tall compared to the short Invader. Zim, of course, hated Dib even more because of that.
By now they had reached some sort of mutual agreement; neither was capable of winning their endless battle. They were just too evenly matched somehow. They had also discovered that if either were to be permanently defeated, the other would most likely end up depressed and lose their drive.
So actual physical battles ceased to be about a year ago. Now they just insulted each other across the classroom or threw stuff at each other. No different than any other Hi-Skool rivalry, really.

"You're up early." came a voice. I turned towards my door to see Gaz standing there. She was already dressed for the day in her usual attire of a black dress and striped purple and black tights. She glared at me and I could see her new GameSlave in her hand.
"Why was Zim here yesterday anyway? I passed him on the way back from the mall. He looked kinda spaced out."

I kicked at a stone, or so the hyoomans had called it, with my foot as I made my way back to the base. I was perturbed yet also intrigued by the Dib-hyooman's odd behaviour towards me today. First he stares at me, and then he tries to touch my hair covery thing as well. What was his problem? Maybe he thought I was making the whole project thing up.
Truth is, I wasn't. That old hyooman by the name of Sowourz really had approached my superior form and requested this 'project' be completed. I hadn't told the Dib what date she wanted it by yet, but heh, he could figure that out for himself in that huge head of his. I'm sure there was some form of brain within it.
As I approached the base I found GIR sitting on a pile of dirt, a little flag on top bearing the Irken Command logo. Of course, as soon as he saw me, he leaped up and flew at me, knocking me to the ground.
"GIR!" I shouted. "Get off!"

That's how long it had been since that faithful day he'd stepped into our seventh grade classroom. Black hair, green skin, not to mention no ears or a nose. I knew almost instantly he wasn't human, I mean, really, it wasn't that hard to see. Or so I thought. Apparently the rest of my classmates thought the opposite. A 'skin condition' he'd claimed to have and they lapped it up like a dog sucking pitifully up to its master for a bone. Gullible and naiveté. That was all our society was. And that was all it would ever be.
Of course, they thought nothing more of me than the 'crazy' kid, so in a way I wasn't surprised when they'd turned on me and my opinions. It wasn't like they mattered. Who listens to the insane kid that's obsessed with the paranormal and seeing ghosts and aliens?
First they ignore you, then laugh at you and hate you. Then they fight you, then you win.

Dib cautiously snuck up to Zim's house, trying to evade the glares of the creepy garden gnomes. How could anybody in even their right alien mind put those things in their yard?! Reaching the glowing house, Dib glanced into the window to see what kind of activity was a-happening inside.
Zim was sitting on the purple couch along side his crazy SIR unit, GIR. Clutched in his two fingers was a dip snack. The alien dipped in a strange white stick and put it in his mouth, as did GIR. They were watching some show about diarrhea. "GIR, I only hope this does NOT provoke you to do something insane... though I digress, knowing you." Zim muttered.
"YEW gots da diarrhea too?"

Dib shuddered in excitement feeling those small claws through his shirt. He reached up to remove the wig and reveal those long black antennae. Curious, he felt for one of them.
Zim gave a deep shudder as Dib's hand came into contact with the feeler. It had a rubbery feel to it, but was soft. His claws clenched Dib's shirt a little harder at the contact.
Dib took his lips away from Zim's to see the alien's reaction to his little investigation. He started rubbing the stalk in his hand carefully, not wanting to hurt Zim by accident. He never thought he'd ever see the day he could actually touch these antennae.
Zim seemed to quiver a little, but had a content look on his face. He made a soft moaning noise in the back of his throat. The antenna twitched beneath Dib's touch. It was sensitive and was causing the alien to go into a very calm state.
The tall boy couldn't help but smile at how calm and content Zim looked. He had never seen Zim look this way before and it

Dib could feel the other's fake eyes following him, watching his every move as he packed up the last of the gym volley balls into there bags, and he couldn't help but wonder why. Why was it that fate was so cruel towards him? Ever since he'd first entered high-school, it seemed every teacher he came into contact with was drawn towards pairing him up with his worst enemy, as he currently was right now. Not that it really mattered when the green menace just sat back and watched.
"You know, you COULD help me with some of this, you jerk." he said, picking up the first bag of volley balls to move them over towards the equipment room.
After an intense gym period in the close to freezing-cold basketball court, their gym teacher had assigned THEM to pack up all the equipment and move it back before heading home. A few weeks shy of the winter break, Dib just wanted to get out of the school's required gym clo

I had just barely managed to make it into the classroom before the lingering feeling of death circulated in the room as the teacher literally floated inside. As I sat down at my desk, I looked over towards where Zim sat. He hadn't followed me as I had left his house, and I wasn't even sure he was going to show up today.
Miss Sowourz started the usual morning lecture, something about the number of deaths and injuries from falling vending machines, but my mind was elsewhere. No matter how hard I tried to avoid it, I knew I couldn't just push aside my thoughts and feelings, especially if they had been bothering me for the past few months.
I had tried asking myself countless times what exactly Zim was or meant to me. Most of the time I had instantly cast the question aside, labeling the alien as nothing more than my ultimate enemy. Zim was a cold green alien, an Irken Invader, as I had previously learned from spying on him so much. He was here to conquer my planet, invade it. H

Gripping my bookbag tight, I turned to leave the classroom. The morning sex-ed lesson had seemed to go on forever and it didn't help that Sowourz had insisted we pair up to work on some of the questions. I hadn't been paired with Zim (thank god, I can only imagine how that would have went) but that didn't stop the obnoxious green alien from demanding answers from other students. Half the morning he had spent twisting around in his chair and slamming his fists onto desks, yelling loud enough for the students on the opposite end of the school to hear, about how 'hyooman's' were lax and 'stoopid' that they actually needed to learn about this 'stuff.'
I had smirked again at that, asking him if he'd ever learned about sex-ed on Irk, to which he yelled 'I AM FROM EARTH! I AM NORMAL!' in an attempt to bypass the question.
Now I headed towards my locker. Zim's was right across from mine on the opposite side of the corridor, strangely enough. We didn't share homeroom, but

Dib rolled his eyes. Of course Zim would be going off again. This time was no different to the last, except instead of rambling on about the cafeteria food giving him blisters, he was directly addressing the cafeteria drone herself. She ignored him of course, barely casting an eye towards the green 'child' directly in front of her, let alone every other student in the cafeteria for that matter.
How could they not see? Even after a two years of the same nonsense. Dib had at least expected something to change. But no. He was still picked on. Still known as the crazy kid with no friends. The paranormal freak.
Putting his hand to his chin, Dib slowly ate his cafeteria food, trying to blot out the noise of Zim's raspy voice, but it was no good. He could still hear it ringing throughout his head. He almost envied how the other students could block Zim out so easily. He just wouldn't shut up.
The pounding sensation emerging on the right side of his temple didn't help either. The more Zim rant

Almost like all the aggression I had from our past fights were beginning to rumble together in my head, like an earthquake that gradually builds up.

Blushing profusely at this point, Zim watched Dib leave the classroom with a slightly angry look on his face. "I..." he threw his finger up in the air with his eyes closed, following after Dib. "...hate you." he finally said, pointing at Dib with a slightly annoyed look on his face now. "Now that I'm stuck with your filthy filthiness...Um..." he closed his eyes as hard as he could, as though trying to think of how to phrase his next question. "When and where shall we do it?" he asked, his teeth grit and fists shaking. The alien hated that teacher, but he couldn't help but see this as an opportunity to find out what it was that was bothering Dib at the same time.
Zim still following behind him, Dib stopped at his locker to drop off his books before grabbing the ones he'd need for his next class. Caught a little off guard by the Irken's question, surprised by the fact that Zim was actually offering to help him with this, he then turned back to face the alien, giv

Chapter 2: Teamwork
Having forgotten already that he was really, REALLY late for school by now, Zim walked slowly through the snow towards the educational establishment, a confused and even slightly sad look plastered on his face. He couldn't stop thinking about the large headed boy as he stared morosely at his feet, the other's words playing on rerun over and over again inside his head. The human never yelled at him like that so he didn't even know how to react to it. All he knew was that it had been a change from the normal witty banter they usually tossed back and forth on a daily basis.
'What's wrong with the stink-boy? He NEVER tells me to leave him alone. He's always tracking me down, taking stupid photos, and yelling things like, "I know what you are, Zim!"' Zim thought, kicking at a bit of snow on the ground.
Stopping in his tracks, Zim then lifted his head a bit, another thought coming to

"Very well then, human. I'll make arrangements for you to be transported to the planet of your choosing. But remember, one month's time is all we can afford you. Do I make myself clear?
"Yes. Thank you. I give you my word. I won't let you down." a pearly-toothed smile broke the otherwise stony expression of the dark-haired man standing before the council that had gathered on his behalf.
"You best not, human. This opportunity comes but once in a millenia. Should you fail at completing your mission within the allotted time, we'll have no choice but to cut you from our plans. Every second counts, and the fate of the universe depends on our success. Absolutely nothing can be allowed to hold us back. Not during this most critical of times." the elder of the counci

"This is all your fault..." he muttered, half to himself and half to the disguised alien staring just as intensely back at him.
Antennae twitching beneath his wig at the silent statement, the Irken scoffed at those words. "ZIM is not the one who brought a water gun to school, worm-baby. If anyone is to blame for landing us in detention, it's YOU!" he jabbed a finger in the human's direction, standing abruptly from his seat.
"Zim! How many times do I have to repeat myself?! No leaving your seat during detention! Now sit back down before I add on another fifteen minutes to your time here!" the teacher in charge scowled and pointed to Zim's seat from his spot at the front of the classroom.
Growling, Zim reluctantly returned to sitting back down at his desk,

Perhaps I’m getting old and going a little senile.” the man ran a hand through his hair as he followed just a few steps behind the teen, said paranormal investigator walking rather stiffly as he made his way down the street, more than a little annoyed with the other still. “You sure have grown though. The last time I saw you, you barely came past my waist. But just look at you now! You’re nearly as tall as me! And I don’t doubt you still have at least a little more growing to do.” he smiled lightly before feeling that smile fall away at the lack of a response back. From Rivalry To Passion-Chapter 7 in Romance More Like This
He sighed. The boy hadn’t said a word to him since decking him.
He brought a hand up to rub at his jaw, one of his teeth still aching badly despite the fifteen or so minutes that had passed since then.
“You’re a lot stronger too. I think you even managed to dislodge one of my teeth. Though I suppose I deserved tha

Dib found himself completely frozen again as the other approached him slowly. It was almost as if time had just stopped completely as each step created more and more anticipation and fear. He could hardly even bat an eye as his gaze was glued on to Zim with no intention of looking anywhere else.
Zim took agonizingly slow steps to him, the laughing dying down to weak 'e' sounds of an eerie laugh. He stopped when he had reached him, eyes turning wild almost instantly. He leaned forward and continued that grin of insanity, looking like he was a wrong breath away from a total meltdown. "I...want to....." The rest turned into garbled nonsense, but he paused, as if he were waiting for an answer now.
Dib didn't seem to catch on to this though as he was too intently focused on the other's horrifying expression, sending shivers down his spine the longer he stared at it. He considered running, but of course his body wouldn't even allow him to move a finger as he stood perfectly still

Dib’s hurried pace soon slowed to a steady walk as he got closer to Zim’s base. He delayed getting there as he was both afraid and nervous of what he may find here. He actually started to second guess if this was the best thing to do, but he arrived before he knew it. Once it were visible across the road from him, Dib stopped and stared at it for a short time. He drew in a deep breath, whispering unsure words of encouragement before starting closer towards it.
Zim's base looked pretty similar on the outside, except for where his gnomes keeping his house protected had been destroyed. Though, it did seem to have an eerie aura around it which was something that hadn’t been present in the past.
Dib had made it to the front door now, staring upon it as if there were something fairly interesting about it. In reality, he was just preparing himself for what he was sure would be a quite shocking sight. Finally, he pushed the door open and flicked on the lights wi

Upon arriving home on that quiet, eerie night, Dib was relieved to find that no insane Irken had followed him. He was alone now, and he had the feeling he would have a peaceful night in contrast to the others he had experienced.
As Dib had made his way into the house and up to his room, the lingering smell of day old blood hit him. It wasn’t quite as harsh and foul as the pile of junk found in Zim’s closet. However, it was enough to make the boy groan in both agony and nausea, but the smell didn’t seem to stop him from hobbling to his bed and allowing himself to collapse upon it.
At least he was safe for now, and tonight would be one of the only nights open for him to sleep without much worry. Zim was still too weak to come for him, and the computer was keeping him indoors for tonight.
As Dib lay on his bed with his eyes pealed wide open, he felt himself almost grow drowsy as time proceeded. He even fell into a deep and much needed sleep within fifteen

So here it is! I am finally working on this for those of you who've been so patient. I am working on making this flow a bit better so please excuse its immense length since I have been adding a lot. I hope you guys enjoy chapter one and the rest of the story once I can get around to posting it! I am writing Dib's parts and Invader-Neo is writing Zim's. I haven't edited much of hers because she writes like a boss!
Everyone in the skool building knew it was a scientific law that when there was Zim, there was always oddities and inevitably, screaming. These screams were usually on resulting in either anger and denial at anything that could have been brought to his attention that he felt were threatening to his position and mission, or from absolutely anything that came out of his arch enemy's, Dib's, mouth. And both these oddities and screams were the very things that defined what Zim was to these humans as much as his PAK defined him as an Irken. He had

Soon all of Zim's tremors just seemed to halt. He pulled himself back up onto all fours, extending his head up with his neck still cocked at an awkward angle so he could see Dib's face. He parted his lips into the grin again, beginning to screech out in a single laughter with that eerie 'e' sound again.
The sight of that haunting grin seemed to paralyze the boy as he slowly let himself down to the floor, wrapping himself in a fetal position as he rocked himself very stiffly as if to comfort himself. Violent shivers also shook him as the cackle rung in his ears as they only intensified the dread he was already feeling.
Zim slowly began to drag himself over to him, seeing him as wounded prey now. His limbs still had trouble taking turns, looking even more like a creature in dire need of an exorcism.
Dib's eyes expanded as the other drew closer to him. He didn't blink now since in his mind, blinking only made him made him more vulnerable than he already was, even though he wo

Dib stared at Zim wide-eyed in panic as he approached him slowly, backing up a few clumsy steps before bumping into the fence behind him. He looked over his shoulder and eye it, dreading the fact that he had to climb the damned thing if he wanted to avoid the same fate his teacher had met.
After glancing back at Zim another time, seeing that he was getting closer to him quicker than he thought, he turned and faced the fence and backed up a few steps. He drew a shaky breath before running at it and making a leap as he got close to the fence, grunting as he hit it and started his desperate climb.
A screech of obvious rage exploded from the hobbling being that was trailing far behind his escaping form. “IB!!!!” The name practically pierced through the air as wild eyes, even through those contacts, locked onto him frighteningly and his arms outstretched in a dire want to rip the other from the rusty chained fence.
The screech shook the boy, causing his grip to sli

Dib remained in an almost trance-like state for a few moments as he recalled a few memories of Zim. He took another deep breath before speaking again in a quiet tone. “Zim... He was pretty interesting.”
"Yes? What is his personality like?" The doctor questioned, beginning to write again at the others decision to elaborate more on the subject.
Dib slowly looked back to the doctor, shifting in his seat as he considered the question. “Well, he was loud and obnoxious and would often insult the human race whenever he had the chance to. But, he was very proud of his race and his leaders. He made every attempt to take over Earth even if he failed every time. But I liked that about him...” Dib’s voice trailed off some as his gaze lowered. “I admired that about him actually..”
Dr.Gaul hummed and nodded his head a bit. "Well, I can only chalk this up as more schizophrenia from how you say this. You seem very fond of this little delusion as

Upon realizing there was no sign of the Irken even making an attempt to get into his house, Dib felt it were safer to be in there now than outside so he rushed towards it in quite a hurry. Once he had burst in the door, he slammed it furiously behind him and turned to lock the door for an extra sense of security. Hopefully Gaz had a key to the house so she wouldn't bother him with her obnoxious banging as she did quite often.
After locking the door, Dib turned his back to it and leaned against it, closing his eyes and taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself after all of the stress he had endured that day. Unfortunately, he could only think of Zim as he stood there, images of that haunting grin flashing in his memory.
The boy let out a groan of both agony and frustration as he headed towards the downstairs bathroom, pulling out a first aid kit to bandage his wounds before heading up to his bedroom hoping that some relaxation would help to clear his mind. Of cours
