The sun warmed his wings as the wind pushed him through the shadows in the ravine. The day would have been peaceful but for the deception that peace was. The cresent moon was little more than a mocking smile, the sentient cliffs witnesses to his misery and the breeze in the trees but a mocking laughter at his plight. Gone, all of them, and him, left to this cruel life as the last. He remembered these cliffs from his youth, the youngsters on new found wings darin each other to glide the cliffs lengths. How bold they had all seemed then. But that didn't matter, nothing matters when all you have is gone. All the dragons, the elders, his friends, his mate, lost forever. He carried the burden of these empty memories. This land had forgotten the dragons. The prey beasts treated him as little more then a far off bird, sometimes sniffing in his direction. He could not command the respect he once did. The ruins of his race more tormented then sheltered him and even the friendly fish no longer leapt to the surface when his white scales reflected off their waters.
So quick did the world forget. He was a ghost in this world. He considered once more retreating into madness, that had seemed a releif before, but he could not stand the thought of those ghostly visions of his kind coming back to haunt him. Strange, he thought, how i fear those spectres when i miss them so much. Heck he even missed Trissol, the cynical old red. Well, none of that mattered anymore, only this flight. Now why does this flight matter? He pondered. He didn't know where he went or why, just that he should fly. So on he went, tormented by the memories of a proud race, tha dragons.
well, i needed some landscape practice XD obviously i still do, those trees o__________O. The dragon didnt turn out very well but meh, im glad i put him in, i made up the story as i went along and so the picture needed a dragon XD hope you like ^^
The man walked through the crag in the mountain and came into an open area where the roof of a great cavern had caved in, shafts of light illuminating the centre and mist being flung up by tall waterfalls. Ferns and other greenery grew, turning the chasm into a fantadtic world of light and life. The man noticed none of this, he had come here with a task. Sitting on a large shelf of rock was a monster. It was over a hundred feet high and covered in gold and blue scales that glittered in the sunlight like fire writhing over the creature's body. It's strong neck held aloft a massive head; crowned with horns, a broad nose between its pupil-less eyes. Great black talons, each the size of him, curved from its immense paws and leathery wings folded on its back. This was the dragon he had come to slay.
"Dragon!", he roared. "I have come to challenge you!". At the sound of his voice echoing through the chasm the beast turned its head to him, fixing its blue gaze on the tiny creature before it. The man was shocked when a great voice spoke in his mind. And why would one so young and so small seek to challenge an ancient?. The man gaped, this thing was supposed to be little more than a dum beast, by what witchery did it speak? It must have been a trick, mimicking human speech like a parrot bird of the isles. Not wanting to appear fazed the man quickly made his reply. "I seek to slay you to put an end to your tyrannical hold over our lands, stealing our food, killing innocents and setting a blaze to our forests!". This the dragon found amusing. Small one, your claims are little more than the air you breath; if by stealing food you mean the sheep and cattle of the fields then you must remember; a sheep does not see himself as owned and nor do I see him as a belonging. As for the killing of ‘innocents’, I do not see those who attack me as innocents and I do not light the forests on fire; I think you’ll find lightning to be a more likely culprit. You are naive, and in your naivety feel yourself justified. The man was angered by this last comment. “Dragon you are little more than a beast, you have no concept of the superior world of men.” I am a beast, as are you. The race of men are no more superior than any other. If an ant thinks himself superior for building tunnels and herding aphids does that make him superior in the eyes of others? No. You challenge me as if you were a righteous hero but you are a fool. I am an ancient, I have lived over a thousand times what you ever would. Challenge me now and i promise you, you will never sire descendants. Leave now and you will have a chance to exist. The man was unnerved, but he could not go back and say he had failed. He roared, lifting his blade and charged at the dragon. The dragon did nothing but watch as the man's blade clashed against his iron hard scales. The stunned expression of the man was the last thing that past his face before he was engulfed in a torrent of blue flame.
well, this started with the dum idea of thinking 'hmm maybe i should try to do one of those chunky scaly dragons just to see what its like *herpderp*'. ITS A PAIN. This. Killed. Me. o.o. Do not expect to see more dragons in this style, i like my normal style better anyway. Started this about a month or two ago, kept procrastinating finishing it but then i finally decided to just do it. I rushed a bit at the end, so the background could be way better and i fail at human silhouettes apparently, the man looks like a cartoon. And those wings, dont even get me started on those. Still, im glad i did this for the experience. Anywho, story just came with the idea, its not great but i wanted to post it anyway to make more sense of the picture, enjoy :3

The full moon looked down on the ocean, fingers of its light seeping into the dark depths. With its light plankton rose to the surface, and with it the predators. Squid darted like silver streaks and the sillhouettes and echoes of the calls of dolphins could be heard and seen in the shadows. Creatures appeared than dissapeared, like wraiths from the eternal black shadows. This was a different world, a world where any creature could appear. The movement of shadows stilled suddenly and a silent stillness crept through the water. A lingering fish transfixed by the moonlight did not see the sleek smooth silver streak that darted up to it till it was too late. The fish was gone, in a single instant and where it was a strange creature slowly undulated. Fan like fins had stood up from its body, transforing the sleek predator into a beautiful spectre. The slow movement of its fins seemed but a trick of the light and the light reflecting off its body made it look otherworldy. Dragon, that was the only word that could describe this magnificent, mysterious creature. It looked at the light, seemingly caught in the movement of the reflections. Something stirred in the water. Like a peice of black silk gliding through the water came the mata ray, unafraid of this other strange creature. The dragon looked at it, that gaze held the secrets of the world. It was not the gaze of a hungry predator, it was the gaze of a thinker, a contemplater, the dragon was studying the ray. In a strange dance of aquatic spirits the manta started to circle the dragon and the dragon the manta. There was no doubting this occurence, the dragon was friends with the ray.
Was watching a doco the other night about swordfish, marlin and other billfish and there was some stunning underwater night footage so i was inspired to make this. The story i thought up as i drew the picture which seems to happen often XD. I dont really like how the water turned out but the ray and the sea dragon are alright, besides, it helped me destress ^^ hope you enjoy oh yer, i made this a few days ago but my comp had a huge hissy fit and i couldnt access DA or my email or my usb or my computer settings and a bunch of other stuff, hence my quietness XD
Sorry for the awful lighting. It was very hot, and I didn't feel like standing out there the whole time. Plus this was her second shoot that day (the first my camera acted up and all my shots came out white). She is a white brindle, but only on her left side. Her right side is just a pretty bay.
I'm having trouble thinking up a barn name for her, so if you have any suggestions please tell me! The only request I have is that is actually be a person-name, nothing like sprinkles or star or something. I was thinking Josey...?
Second design comission for Evanessence on CS. She asked me to just design a random dragon... and this happened. I couldn't help it, I love butterfly dragons XP.
This creature is mainly nocturnal and lives in a forest which soil is practically dead, a place where no live can grow from it. So every time the dragon flies, it spreads glowy blue polens wherever he passes through, filling the dead land below with magic and giving it life. This makes the territory grow a special, mystical vegetation and thus have an unique fauna, too, providing food and shelter for the butterfly dragon.
That creature does this every night to guarantee life for the land. However, if the dragon ever leaves that place, dies or, for some reason, stops spreading its polens, the land will become dead again and all the fauna and vegetation will disappear in a matter of days.
Well, I hope you like the design and the concept, those were fun to create. XD
Well, I wanted to sell her... but I can't >w< I have role for her in my story and I love her ;w; I promised myself no more refs but uh... I didn't expect that I'll keep her xD
So, ekhm Alexandra: Circle on her hat and shoulder says that she's liberalist (but more active than for example my unicorns). She "teases" both parties (you know, in my story is world war etc...). with explosive material heh x3 and yeah one time bomb exploded too early. Now she has scars on right side of her body, and she's blind in the right eye and a deaf ear to right ear (happily her smell is okay O3o). Nobody knows how old is she Owo She can be 10, she can be 19, but I know that no more thann 20 x"D and I think she's more 10 than 19 "D And yeah... she works in underground. With Barnaba "D for example "D
Andddd shes mouse-like creature. Yeah... I don't have any idea for power for she SO PLEASE HELP QwQ
Comission for Comishes are open :3 Lubię w sumie efekt końcowy xP Masz, mam nadzieję, że i Tobie się podobaju ^^ chciałam narysować coś słodkiego :3 lineart and coloring in PSE8 shading in gimp 2.6 wacom tablet
Saturday (August 2nd), I entered my beautiful girl, Dancer, in a Trail Challenge competition for the very first time. We had been working so hard for the past month to make it to this point! We gave it our all and in the end, we came in 3rd place out of many others (maybe 20). I couldn't be more proud to work with this impressive mare. For more inspiration, keep reading!
(BTW: I totally crocheted that saddle pad cover myself Pink was the game, style was our name!)
I don't like to brag, really, but I've been really impressed by this mare! I adopted her this May, so I've had her for only two months at the time of this picture. Since then, she's been on trail rides, ridden both Western and English, and now competing in a show. Now granted! This was just a small county show but it was a huge step for myself and her! I've only shown others' fancy horses and never my own! This was the first time I showed my actual horse at a show! We worked out butts off all of July to get ready for one day and one run and it all paid off! We have so many random trail obstacles in our lot in front of the barn. People that drove by thought we lost our minds! These weren't the normal trail obstacles you would see in normal competition trail that has ground poles and a rope gate. No, this was a challenge with a metal gate, a large ball to kick, a dummy to hoist from the ground and set down again, a tunnel made of tarps and ribbons, raincoats, a kiddie pool!!, mailboxes, spokes, barrels to back around in a figure-8, a gate made of pool noodles, and a mysterious trailer to load in at the very end! It was a blast to play with! And a blast to compete in! Beach Balls: As we worked, Dancer began to show me the guts she really had. When I first introduced the balls to her, I used beach balls (because they're cheap and what I had) I put five or six balls in the round pen and expected a reaction! Her reaction: eat the remaining grass around the round pen. I threw the balls her direction: nothing. I kicked the balls towards her: nothing. I bounced the balls ON TOP OF HER: nothing... She was so unimpressed with my attempts to rouse her from the grass she had found. Kiddie pool: Now this got a reaction! I had some carpet and padding in it so it wouldn't break when she went through it. It wasn't the water or the carpet or the fact I wanted her to go through it that bothered her. What bothered her was there was perfectly good, dry land around it to step around it! She couldn't understand why she had to step through this thing....With many attempts later, she went through the pool and gave up trying to understand her very strange humans. Raincoat: The goal was to pick up a raincoat from one barrel, lay it over the horn of the saddle, trot to the next barrel, and set it down. Easy. Especially when the mare you're riding could care less about some raincoat. This blew my mind (and probably shouldn't have at this point...) I had grown so used to my gelding that is petrified by raincoats, that her lack of reaction just caught me off guard. Nothing I did with the raincoat seemed to phase her! :'D It was the most pleasant disappointment! Part of me wanted her to react but I was so relieved it was one less thing we had to work with! Dummy: As you can see, there's a pattern forming. We lashed together some pool noodles and tied some ropes to make our little dummy to pull off of the ground. I'm pretty sure her expression was "Really? This is all you have?" when we pulled it up for the first time. A little heart broken, we set it back down. I got over it pretty quick and was once again so impressed with this little mare I recently adopted! Everything Else: I could go through all of the obstacles but why bother telling the same story over and over again? Nothing seemed to phase this girl! She was a true pro! We even learned to side pass in just a few days!
I couldn't be a more proud owner of Dancer. She truly impressed me with her attitude. If I could some her up in one word it would be "Whatever". She's got a lot of heart and spirit. I've truly grown attached to her and wanted to share our short success story, hoping others will share theirs too! We have formed a team together and I look forward to working with her more in the future! I cannot give enough props to the previous owner for treating this mare like the diamond she is!
I hope every equestrian has the opportunity in life to find that one horse that just makes them happy - together.
