I was painting action scenes for a future videogame and in the mean time I created this just for fun, maybe I will use this composition in one of this future marketing piece. Have fun!

Heya guys,

It's been a while since my last post - I've been keeping very very busy here in Cambridge (if you are around gimme a shout!)
I managed to squeeze this one out while trying the new PS CS6
Let me know what you all think. C&C welcome!

A speedpainting, started yesterday, that went a little overboard. Still not a finished rendering but there's more stuff in there than my usual speedies. This one took a little less then 5 hours to make. Used the same palette as the other speedy - the next one is probably going to have the same colors only fully rendered, so I think there will be a little wait for that one xD

anyway, enjoy. And C&C's are welcome.

Oh also, I put a few scientists in white coats in there for good measure xD

Like I said at other works / websites - this image was inspired by Craig Mullin's work on Final Fantasy Spirits Within.

This is another piece of production art done for the ill-fated "Tiberium" game.

It shows the start of one of the game levels, an urban environment fortified against the harsh environmental conditions prevalent in the storyline.

The entire city is built on enormous platforms to protect the inhabitants from the invasive crystalline substance (Tiberium) that has spread throughout the region, ravaging the environment.

The large vehicle partly visible on the left of frame is an airship cargo vessel docked at this loading platform, while the structure ahead is a control tower and freight handling facility that you must pass through to enter the city beyond.

This is a full 3D scene that I rendered out and then retouched in Photoshop, adding elements such as the rain and some other details.

This was a concept painting done while I was employed at EA. It was done for the "Command and Conquer " series of RTS games, as an inspirational piece showing a very different style and overall feel to the subject matter.

Ultimately it was decided to stick with the established style, which was far less gritty and much more playful in tone.

But I always liked this illustration for its own sake, so I'm posting it here.

The entire image was painted in Photoshop, although I did incorporate a 3D render of some tires which I blended into the little trucks. Yes, I know it's cheating ;) !

I'm going to shift my focus back to generating new artwork - as opposed to digging through the archives - but I've enjoyed posting some of the art done over the last few years, and I'm sure on occasion I will continue to do so :)

A sturdy looking spaceship hangs in its support cradle, waiting for final clearance to launch.

This is a not-quite-speed-painting (about 3 hours or so, I think) done on a Sunday afternoon a few years ago now. The image was created entirely in Photoshop, and for stuff like this I usually don't use reference.

The ship is asymmetrical in its design. I like asymmetry, and trying to make an asymmetrical design feel balanced is a fun exercise :D

lol I'm so clever it's ridicilous... some ship dodging missiles. Or missiles dodging a ship? A longer speedpaint tho, maybe around 4 hours or so. Seems like I'm getting slower,, maybe just getting older

And a big hello to all my new watchers!

Hey hey hey!

This is the closest I've come to a speedpaint in ages.. Can't tell you how much I miss painting personal stuff :( Approximately 5 hours spent on it. A modern take on a roman legionnaire .

Hope y'all are having a nice holiday!

EDIT: brightened and cropped the left side slightly, was too dark

Had time for a matte concept painting, started on it yesterday and finished it today. Not very original but it's just so much fun doing some personal stuff for once.

Thanks so much for the wonderful comments on the previous painting btw! I'm glad you liked it!
