This is one of ten pieces I did for the new Star Wars Essential Guide to Warfare. I had a blast working on it and I'm excited that I am able to contribute to the Star Wars universe.

I will be posting them in the order of sequence as it appears in the book. Hope you guys enjoy them!

This is one of my favorite pieces from the Galactic Civil War era. This battle, which took place after the destruction of the first Death Star but before the events of Empire Strikes Back, was an elaborate ambush set by Vader and the Empire to destroy the Alliance leadership along with its fleet. Under overwhelming odds the Rebels would've fled to a designated location where they would regroup, but had they done that they would have found another Imperial fleet waiting for them. The fleet instead dispersed and made random jumps to avoid being completely annihilated. The Alliance almost lost the entire fleet from this battle but enough survived to carry on the fight and eventually make a comeback at the Battle of Endor.

This battle is recounted in the Star War comic "Rebellion: My Brother, My Enemy".

Admiral Hirken defends the Northern Dependencies during the Fifth Alsakan Conflict. This is one of a series of clashes between the planets Coruscant and Alsakan over the leadership of the Republic that took place over the span of 140 centuries almost 17,000 years BBY(before the Battle of Yavin). Star Wars starships look rather different back in those days when shield technology was rudimentary and instead rely on large reflective armor as their main defense.

Of the ten pieces I did for Warfare I think this is my favorite one. This scene takes place at the Battle of Kashyyyk during the Second Galactic Civil War where Galactic Alliance forces clash with Confederate forces made up of Bothans, Wookies, Hapans and the Jedi Order. The battle rages around the Anakin Solo, commanded by Jacen Solo (secretly Darth Cadeus), as she bombards the planet surface of Kashyyyk from orbit with her forward long-range turbolasers.

Other things to note in this piece is the never-before-seen Wookie Owool Interceptors making attack runs on the Anakin Solo and the Stealth X fighters flown by Jaina Solo and the Jedis in the foreground. There are also some XJ3/XJ5 X-wings flying about and for those who are wondering about the Mon Calamari Cruiser, yes, it is an MC90 class.

A commissioned illustration for the 'OMEN RPG' rulebook.
Check all the details on www.omenrpg.com

Had fun with this, hope you like. :)
I know the lighting in space looks different, I took some artistic liberties.
I just can't sleep peacefully without my daily dose of ambient light!

Heya from New York :)

Had to hold this back for a while, finally able to post it.
It was a marketing poster for a little private project called Star Fall by two 3D guys, Louis Boka and Ferdinand Reginensi.
They have websites where they show some of the work for this. Not sure about progress and scope of all this really. I provided some concept art is all. Check it out! Some pretty awesome renders there.

The latest illustration for the MMORTS game Novus Aeterno. Having spent the last month or 2 working on ship concepts and skins it was nice to break loose and paint another huge space battle. Since we have new models for just about everything now it made sense to paint an updated image.
The foreground ships consist of some Dreadnoughts (the tall big things) a few Battleships (Smaller vertical ships with an angled lower section) 2 Basilisk Capitol ships (the 2 giant things in the top left and bottom right corners) and a Laminar Capitol ship (the large ship just above the massive explosion firing off a lot of rounds)

That big explosion was caused by a rather well placed shot by the top left Basilisk right down the barrel of an enemy Basilisk, the resulting explosion was pretty big. The other Capitol ship in the right lower corner was quite lucky compared, a distant Manticore Capitol ship, which is a huge prototype laser cannon with engines, just grazed the ships sides, melting away layers of hull and ripping the shield.

Enjoy :ahoy:

Do first contact situation ever go peacefully? Of course they don't because that would be boring.
Anyway what your looking at is a first contact situation between the Humans and the first alien race to go into the game Novus Aeterno the Verunas. I have shown some of their ship designs recently and this is the first full illustration with them in so it was nice to paint something other than Human V Human.

The Verunas aren't very friendly they are the most advanced race in the game and they know it, they are big headed both physically and mentally.

Also this painting will cover a 20ft wall at out booth at PAX in April which will be rather cool to see.

Enjoy

New image from the graphic novel Telikos Protocol, visit the Facebook page to find out more: [link]

Whilst working on one of the pages this image stood out as being too awesome to keep under wraps until issue one is released, so we decided to throw it out there.
It shows two of the orbital rail gun platforms that orbit Earth used to safe guard it from asteroids, they are very big and very powerful. Enjoy :)

:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred: Thank you to *AFineWar for suggesting and ^alltheoriginalnames for featuring it!

I usually make it a point to thank everyone individually, because I never take interest in my work - by anyone - for granted, but in this case it's just too much! Every single comment and :+fav: is truly appreciated though! It means a lot.

The beginning of colonization efforts somewhere at the outer rim of our known universe. The ship designs are based in part on real NASA concepts, just as the Helios colony vessel.

MESHED: Helios Colony Vessel & Ark Ship by Jason Tinsley, Heavy Shuttle & X33 Shuttle by Kenny Mitchell.

Original size: 4500x1600.

Comments and critique welcome.

This is another version of my previous 'The Terminal' artwork but this time in 3D and much more developed.

This is also my humble entry to Ballistic Exposé 10. Btw you can join me on CGsociety and CGtalk @ [link] , I would be glad to have you in my network over there too...

This is another terrain I designed with Vue 9, spaceships modelled with 3DSmax, and all postwork done in Photoshop CS3 to make everything more lively, realistic and full of details.

No hidden Jedi this time guys, dont waste your time ah ah but quite a lot of little things, lights and stuff here and there.

I had lots of fun doing it and should pass onto something different next time!!

Thx for faving and commenting this piece.
Your support means a lot to me.

:horns: to all my metal buddies!!!

It's been a while since I did not make a matte sci-fi scene and here is "The Terminal".
This one is fully inspired by a French artist I discovered in the following book in french (sorry...): [link]
It's Paul Chadeisson I should credit him for the composition and the brushes he kindly shared, check out his website: [link]
Have a look at his gallery, it's really good.

Nevertheless, everything has been fully made by myself, no like for like elements. I added many things, details and textures.

Here are the stocks I used, mostly for the left part of the plant:

Planet texture from the NASA site:

All the rest has been painted or from my own stock.

Hope you guys we'll like it.

I'm so glad to present to you the result of a lot of work on Vue and photohop in this science-fiction matte painting.
I really thank the talented and friendly Lum mate :icontigaer: for his help on this one. This one is probably the most achieve piece I've ever done so far.

The modelling of the sci-fi city has been entirely designed and modelled in Vue 9 by myself. It took me about 20-30 hours in the process playing with the nodes and filters following some pro tuts and stuff. Spaceships have been modelled and rendered in 3DSmax and all postwork has been done in Photoshop with quite a lot of little details here and there, textures and lights...!

I really hope you'll enjoy this one. The story is a city in the middle of the desert, swallowed through time by the sand. The title is of course in reference to Revenge of The Siths, so time now to find where is hidden the Jedi in the scene, mouhahahaaaa!!

Enjoy and thx for your favs and comments...and support!
