I closed my eyes waiting for the cold metal to pierce my skin and free my mind from the fractured world I called home...
"But before I do..." The girl's voice cut through my thoughts, as cold and sharp as the knife at my throat, "I would like to know what an elf is doing with a downed faerie, walking through the wild forests at the border of Saraphyls." She hissed the name of her country, hate dripping from her every word.
"P- Please..." I begged, "We're just passing through... we didn't mean any harm..." She pressed the blade harder against my neck, her lips parting to show her perfect, white canines.
"Who are you?! How did you get here and how did you find me?!" She shouted, digging her knees into my gut so I was practically gasping for air.
"M- My name's Zane... and tha- that's Ryu... w- we got here on accident... I fell off a cliff and Ryu saved m- me... b- but he hurt himself and now we're l- lost... sorta..." She glanced over at Ry

Alec drove grimly, his hands fists on the steering wheel and his heart hammering in his chest. He reached forward and turned on the radio, adjusting the dial until he found the station broadcasting the tournament.
“My, my! That was a spectacular bout!” A female radio host exclaimed. “Caleb Muran was pretty amazing tonight, beating his opponent with only one functional leg!”
“Yes quite amazing but the prodigy didn’t have a chance to celebrate before falling unconscious. The people nearby claimed he was determined to go someplace.” The second host, a man, reported. “Something about a promise to someone... Probably a pretty girl.”
Alec grit his teeth and drove faster, his knuckles going white. He slid into the arena parking lot and leapt from his car, running inside, not caring about his terrible parking job.
“Get out of my way!” He shouted as he pushed through the mass of pe

Author's note: I know I have a lot of stories I'm working on at the moment. I have been working on this one for quite a while now and decided to post. But see it as more of a preview chapter because I won't be posting the next chapters for awhile. Hope you enjoy, nevertheless!
Captive of My Embrace
Adeon watched, with admiration, the young boy passing by all alone. He leaned forward on the park bench, his elbows on his knees and his chin resting in the palms of his hands, his eyes entranced by the child. The boy turned toward Adeon watching him and cocked his head at the man. The black-haired demon smiled lovingly, putting his hand out, the brunette walked forward without hesitation, his soft green eyes not leaving the cold, black ones of the demon.
"Kasey," He whispered as he gripped the child's hand, pulling him close to speak to him. His hand cupped his cheek, tenderly. "You're mine now."
"What?" The child fur

"Yes!" AJ turned to me, smiling brightly. "It'll be a blast!"
"Well " I rubbed my hands on my legs nervously beneath the table, looking away. "I don't know if I'll be able to get through my parents."
My blue-haired friend raised an eyebrow at me and crossed his arms.
"It never stopped you before."
"I- I know but "
"I know what it is."
I suddenly became rigid all over.
"Y- You do?'
"Yep," AJ leaned forward, smiling slyly. "You're already going with someone, aren't you?"
My face burned red and I closed my eyes, exhaling slowly.
"HA!" AJ jumped up, pointing to me. "I KNEW IT!"
The people around us in the cafeteria turned to stare at AJ and I jumped up, dragging him out into the halls of the school.
"Shut up," I hissed, smacking him in the head.
"Is it that Talen guy?" He asked, apparently unfazed by my attempt at inflicting pain upon him.
"Y- Yeah," I whispered, looking down as my face heated up with embarras

Stopping a block away from my house, Talen put the car in park and stared out the windshield. I turned in the passenger's seat to stare at him one last time, his hazel eyes shifting to me as I smiled a bit.
"I don't want this night to end," I whispered, staring at my hands in my lap.
"Me neither," The black-haired man whispered, caressing my face in his hands. "But I had a really good time. I'm glad you like me back."
Talen leaned forward and let his fingers sift through my hair as his lips gently brushed mine, bringing me into a tender kiss. I closed my eyes and brought my hand up, tracing Talen's prominent jaw bone with my fingers as he moved closer, putting more pressure on our lips. He pulled away slowly, grinning slyly.
"W- What's with that face?" I stuttered, furrowing my eyebrows.
"Where did you learn to kiss like that?" He asked, leaning back and making my face burn with unease. "It seems like you've had practice before."
"I- I d
