Everybody knows what Cybertron is. And if somebody doesn't, I'll explain - Cybertron was the planet of Optimus Prime and company. Here is actually the destroyed Cybertron, the one mentioned in the 2007 Transformers movie.
~Turbo Tracks~ If There's one thing Autobot Tracks Loves, it's himself. In his opinion, nothing is quite so fine as the glint of sunlight off his perfectly polished chrome, or the look the humans give his sweet paint job as he rolls by. He's no coward, but he avoids battle all the same, if only to protect his precious body from getting scuffed or, even worse, dented.
Recently, I've just got Reveal The Shield Tracks.. I love everything about him, his Alt mode (Except the Fugly Flight mode...), and his Robot mode (The way he transform is Epic!)
He is so damn hard to find. There's other Tracks as well, but it was from TakaraTomy & was so Fuckin Expensive.. Sigh~ I'm waiting for RTS Wheeljack, Perceptor, Kup, etc.
Yesterday I've just got DOTM Deluxe Bumblebee. Love it, just need some paint job to do the justice for the figure...
so here we have the colored version of the cover to issue 7. again, it features a headshot of the leader of the DJD (Decepticon Justice Devision) i can't tell you his name yet. you'll have to wait a while for that. this was the only cover that i was very specific with Josh about the feeling i was going for i wanted the cover to basically be a monochromatic coover color wise. it would help keep some of this character still a secret to a degree. the idea was something a remember from a couple anime's i had watched where just after or during a bright lightening strick, all the color would be saturated out, and you were left with a very bright highlight and a similar over all color. i thought that was a neat idea. i love the way it turned out Josh is always amazing when he works with me. i wish we could work on more things together man, his eye keep staring at me. they like burning into my soul enjoy
lineart that be me colors he bragged about all the great food he got to eat when he was at botcon. made me sad jokes
the cover to my own little sketchbook. pretty sweet so this was originally intended to be a new cover for the TPB for tf ongoing revenge of the decepticons trade. i offered to do this cover for free since i really wanted to make a new cover for the trade since i never got a chance to do a cover for issue 16-18 that i worked on. i also like giving back to the tf community in some way, and i thought a new cover would be nice. but i guess IDW decided to use it as as the Alex Milne sketchbook cover, which is pretty cool too . this book will be coming out with ongoing 23 i do believe so i guess ask your comic shop if your interested in picking it up not sure if it's a retailer incentive or not, so you'll have to ask. here is a link from the realtedadams yfrog: [link] got to work with the awesome Josh Perez on this. i gotta love his work on this. it was amazing to see what he did with this, and it carried this style with the ongoing covers for 22 and 23. really great stuff by him enjoy
lineart: that be me colours: he be too great for words
so here are the colours for the jazz picture. i had loads of fun working on this picture, and espen did a fabulous job with the colours. i was really happy the way it turned out this is one of the new prints i'll have available at the NYCC this weekend. enjoy
lineart that be me colours he has a picture of a freaky sloth. it was scary
Got an urge to do a quick landscape pic, something I've almost never done before.
So naturally (being the Transformers nut I am) I picked Cybertron as a subject.
The perspective is all kinds of fucked up etc, but I had
fun, and that's what matters, right? ... RIGHT?
Back when the news of the new Transformers series started to come out we heard how Optimus Prime would be portrayed as a younger, less experienced leader. Now while the new show's designs have been shown I still couldn't resist the idea of creating a new Optimus.
So my take would have to be considered from a yet unseen Transformers universe. I ended up referring to this series as FF when I saved the art files to keep them separate. "FF" standing for Full-Force, thus the name Transformers: Full-Force Optimus.
The main ideas I wanted to play up was that this was a young Optimus (not Orion Pax, for those of you in the know). This was an Optimus before he became Prime. Not as brash as say, a Hot Rod type, but still a quicker, more dynamic, perhaps even a bit more ruthless then his more aged counterpart.
The vehicle mode is a four-wheeled Cybertronian car of sorts (yes four wheels, the front two in a row and two separate ones in the back).
I also wanted to play with the colors a bit. More darks, more red in places that are usually blue on Op (like the head and legs). Overall I didn't want him to look like any other Op out there, but still evoke a Optimus feel on some level.
Also the whole idea started with me just wanting to put his smoke stacks in a strange place.
My design for TFW2005's Design a Transformer contest: [link]
The idea was to do an original Transformer concept in the movie-verse style.
Spin-Out is very much inspired by G1 Sunstreaker. His alt. mode is a Lamborghini Reventon: [link]
(Also, if anyone is wondering, the female silhouette in the right of the image is for size comparison (and sexy comparison), I just used a woman as opposed to a man/army guy like I saw in other images.)
