Right, I wasn't going to upload this one. I drew it before the other two but I literally don't know why. The pose is random and has no purpose and the proportions and faces aren't right.
But I've been having fun just drawing for me in my, very small amounts, of free time that I get and it's helping to relax me. So here is this little thing.
It is supposed to be Katniss and Peeta. But I don't like it. I thought about it and maybe Peeta is giving Katniss and piggyback during training for the Quarter Quell in Catching Fire... But that is an afterthought, so the scene itself is not specific.
What I love about The Hunger Games is that I really don't care whether it's Katniss and Peeta or Katniss and Gale etc. I'm happy any way really.
So here are my preliminary sketches of Finnick Odair I completed on my mission to Newcastle yesterday and today. I must have changed his hair and face a thousand times and I'm still not sure...
The only one I vaguely think is right is the one of 14 year old Victor!Finnick. (That's the one full body in the middle). The ones on either side are Finnick in the Quarter Quell and the two faces in the middle are random Finnick. (Though they look a little odd...)
Genuinely interested what you think. I'm finding Finnick a puzzling character to draw. It's almost as if I know what I want him to look like but I can't picture it, if you understand me. So tell me what's wrong? What's right?
This isn't exactly a scene in the books, but it totally should've been this is just the lineart, maybe I'll color it sometime. If my photoshop trial hadn't expired..... Katniss and Peeta (the Hunger Games)
I was recently commissioned to draw a scene from Mockingjay, on page 302 of the book. It was a fun challenge to finally draw the Mockingjay armor and I can only hope I did it justice.
In the fluorescent light, the circles under his eyes look like bruises. "There's still time. You should sleep." Unresisting, he lies back down, but just stares at the needle on one of the dials as it twitches from side to side. Slowly, as I would with a wounded animal, my hand stretches out and brushes a wave of hair from his forehead. He freezes at my touch, but doesn't recoil. So I continue to gently smooth back his hair. It's the first time I have voluntarily touched him since the last arena.
"You're still trying to protect me. Real or not real," he whispers.
"Real," I answer. It seems to require more explanation. "Because that's what you and I do. Protect each other." After a minute or so, he drifts off to sleep.
Peeta says it will be okay. We have each other. -Mockingjay, epilogue
Peeta, Katniss, and their children. I just wanted to draw the whole family being sweet and happy together sitting in the meadow.
This is how I imagined their son and daughter looking like. Although I made a little mistake, according to the book description the boy was supposed to have curly hair, but I gave him straight hair. =__=" Maybe I'll fix it later.
Comments and faves are appreciated! Enjoy!
EDIT : Changed Peeta's left leg to an artificial one. Thanks for telling me !MaimJaie! I totally forgot about it...
I wake screaming from nightmares of mutts and lost children. But his arms are there to comfort me. And eventually his lips.
-Mockingjay, pg 453
EDIT: Sorry for the late artist comment, I was in a hurry yesterday when uploading this, and I didn't have time to write the description.
This scene, although short, I think is my favorite in the whole book. It's heart-wrenching and sweet at the same time, this scene shows that Peeta is slowly returning to his old self, and he's there for Katniss, always. Just like the old times, when he would whisk away her nightmares and comfort her. I think Peeta brings a sense of safety and hope to her, and I think that is one of the many reasons he is the one for Katniss. She's too broken and fragile in the aftermath of the war, she needs somebody who is steady and caring for her to go on with her life.
Song of Inspiration : Kiss me by The Fraywww.youtube.com/watch?v=i6dn3h… The lyrics doesn't exactly match the situation, but the music is just so wonderful and touching, I can't help but repeat the song over and over while drawing this piece. :')
Anyway, Hunger Games is almost here guys! I cannot wait to watch the movie!!!
Comments and faves are appreciated, I would love to hear what you think.
i hated how Katniss was always dissecting Peeta's actions and trying to find out his motives in the Hunger Games. she always expected everyone around her to be manipulative, when Peeta was, in fact, one of the most honest.
I've seen a lot of Peeta fan art here on deviantart. But I haven't seen any at all that depict him when he is painting, as a kind of therapy after the 74th Hunger Games. So I took it upon myself to make one. Apparently he had a real talent for painting and the images he created were very powerful.
I tried to make him look a little older than previous drawings of him, since this is after the Hunger Games took place. I also gave him a haircut. He needed one.
Drawn from scratch, I did use a reference for the easel since I don't know exactly what an easel looks like lol. Overlaid with watercolor here: [link]§ion=&q=watercolor+stock#/d107n42
Katniss and Peeta in the cave during the first Hunger Games. Keep in mind it's a work in progress! Long ways to go before it's done, but I worked on the sketch for so long I felt it deserved to be posted in case I change it.
