Summary: Three years after the events of the movie, Astrid makes a choice.
Astrid had been out of sorts lately.
She wasn't sure why. Nothing had really changed. Hiccup was still Hiccup, kind, intelligent, and awkwardly self-confident. Ruffnut was still vain, crazy, and wild. And the guys still teetered the line between being amusing and being annoying. The only thing that seemed to have changed was Astrid. It was confusing, and frustrating, and the only thing she knew was that she had to do something about it.
Of course Hiccup could tell. He bore the brunt of her bad moods, obviously. And he wanted to talk about it, had been trying to get her to increasingly often over the past few weeks. She always brushed him off, because how could you have a talk when you had no idea what to say? Well, he'd get his talk tod

Astrid stopped when she saw Ruffnut sitting in the woods. Not that she was surprised to see her, she had actually been looking for the other girl, but the picture Ruff was presenting was a little unusual. Ruffnut was sitting very still, and very quietly -- two words that Astrid had never associated with her friend. She was also sitting with her face in a bush, which was just...odd.
Astrid quietly made her way over to Ruff, and gasped as she saw the two mostly naked boys fumbling in a small clearing ahead of her. At the sound Speedifist and Buckshot looked up at her, and for an instant all three were frozen in equal parts horror and humiliation. Then the boys leapt away from each other, scrambling for their clothes, and Astrid clasped her hands over her eyes.
"Oh gods, sorry --"
"We were --"
"I didn't mean --"
Astrid kept her eyes firmly closed

Astrid and Ruffnut had been friends ever since they were young. To be fair, it had started more as a matter of practicality than anything -- Astrid was pretty much the only girl in the village who could keep up with the twins' frantic energy level. Mrs. Thorston, the village's leading florist/pastry maker, had been worried about the effect playing exclusively with a group of roughhousing boys was having on her young daughter, so Mrs. Hofferson agreed to a play date. Mrs. Thorston had probably regretted that decision when the first thing Astrid did upon arriving was run out in the backyard with the twins and helped them build a mud fort and protect it against marauding trolls, but it was too late. From then on Astrid and Ruffnut were together all the time.
Back then, it was either the twins and a

When they are six, Tuffnut tells Ruffnut that babies are made when two people kiss. She, in turn, tells Astrid, but Astrid doesn't believe her, and kisses Ruff to prove it.
Sure enough, Ruffnut's belly does not swell like she's seen on some of the women. Astrid takes this as a sign that Tuffnut is, once again, just being a stupid boy. Ruffnut kind of thinks Astrid did it wrong, but then they're off to the next game, and she forgets.
Later that evening though, she remembers. She gets nervous, and then she gets scared, because maybe it doesn't matter that Astrid's not a boy, and maybe she did it right after all, and Ruff doesn't want a baby. She's quiet and distracted during dinner, and when their father takes Tuff to the creek for a bath, their mother pulls Ruffnut to the side and asks her what's wrong.

Astrid slipped out of Ruffnut's grip yet again.
"Dammit! Did you cover yourself with oil or something?"
"Your holds need work."
"I'll show you work, you -- GAH, ow, getoff getoff ASTRID GET OFF!"
Astrid released her hold on the other girl and stepped back. "What?"
"That's what!" Ruffnut said, pointing to Astrid's leather skirt and rubbing her legs where the metal spikes had dug in. "This is why I don't like practicing grappling with you. It's like you're trying to repel an attack on your nether region."
"Wow," Astrid said, glancing down, "only your mind would go there."
"That's exactly what it's like, so shut up. Seriously, what purpose does that serve other than making it really hard for someone to sit in your lap?"
"Maybe anyone who's presumptuous enough to sit in my lap deserves it."
"Aw, I'm sorry Astrid, are the invisible suitors bothering you again?"

Summary: One day something that is decidedly not a comet crashes in Never Land, carrying a strange girl and her stranger pet.
Notes: Basically aged up Lilo and Jane meet. Don't ask for an explanation about the pairing. Just enjoy it.
"All right men --"
"-- and Jane. There's treasure to be found!" Peter Pan stabbed his dagger dramatically into the air. "Let's go!"
The Lost Boys cheered, and Jane smiled. There was always treasure to be found in Never Land. But before she could take another step, Tootles tugged sharply at her dress, and she looked down to see him bouncing agitatedly. She knelt down next to him. "What it is?" she asked gently, and he pointed to the sky. Jane looked up to see what looked like a comet, bright even against the morning sky, bearing down on them. "Peter!" sh

Summary: Lilo and Jane try to learn the constellations of Neverland.
"Do you stargaze much?" Jane asked.
Lilo pursed her lips. Both girls were lying in a quiet field, learning the constellations of Neverland. "Well, I gaze at stars a lot. But that's usually just because that's what you see when you're flying a spaceship. As far as lying down just looking at the stars, probably not so much."
Lilo paused, and said, "That's weird, isn't it?"
"Hm?" Jane looked over at her, and Lilo pushed herself up on one arm.
"Just that I spend all this time flying around in outer space, and I don't even stop and appreciate the stars. What's wrong with me?"
"Nothing's wrong with you," Jane said soothingly, and bit back a smile when Lilo quirked her eyebrow. "I think people watch the stars because they seem so...distant. Magnificent, but distant. They're so far out of reach." She turned her eyes skyward again. "You can see the stars as

"Hey, you. Nadder-girl," someone said, and Astrid looked around curiously. Sure enough, there was the barmaid scowling at her, which was irritating on multiple levels, not the least of which was the fact that Astrid knew she knew their names perfectly well, she just refused to use them. Although to be fair, Ruff, Tuff, and Lout called her a wench all the time, and they were the ones who started bringing dragons into the bar, and it was usually someone from their group who had to be dragged out of the bar at the end of the night...
Shit. Astrid suddenly realized why the barmaid was calling her.
"Come get your friend," the barmaid said, and Astrid's stomach sank. "I'm not putting up with her today."
"It's barely noon," Astrid protested.
"Yeah, well that's the problem, isn't it?" She turned and walked back into the bar, leaving Astrid standing

"We should do this more often," Ruffnut said.
"Agreed." Astrid's eyes were closed as she enjoyed the secluded hot spring, but they blinked open as Ruff pulled her onto her lap and wrapped her arms around Astrid's waist.
"You know what I think we should do?" Ruffnut murmured, her fingers dancing on Astrid's thigh.
Astrid smiled. "I think I can guess."
"Are you saying I'm getting predictable? I need to step up my game." She slipped her fingers down, and Astrid bit her lip.
"Wait, I think I hear them," Hiccup said from a little ways off.
"Seriously?!" Ruffnut yelled to the heavens, and Astrid let out a deep belly laugh. "I'm going to kick their asses, I really am."
"Be nice," Astrid said through her giggles.
Hiccup and Tuffnut stepped around the natural rock barrier separating the spring from the forest at large, Hiccup with a sigh and Tuffnut wit

Astrid shifted her weight slowly, taking every care to keep as silent as possible. Once in position, she raised her spear and took aim at the unsuspecting fox in front of her.
"You know what we should do?" Hiccup said.
The fox immediately fled, and Astrid sighed in exasperation. "Hiccup, you're the worst hunter ever."
"What, are we really hunting today? I thought we were just hanging out again."
"No, this trip was actually about food. Not that it's going that well."
"Aw, and here I thought we were bonding." He sniffled melodramatically. "You only want me for my hunting skills."
"What hunting skills?"
"Touché," he said cheerfully.
Astrid smiled. "You're in a good mood."
"Had a good night," he said, grinning back.
"Hm. Let me guess: you weren't alone?" She stood and began walking, and Hiccup followed her.
