Welcome to the Internet. Now go home.I post stuff here, on fetlife, and on tumblr. Well, I used to - now I hardly do at all.Welcome to the Internet. Now go home. in Personal More Like This
Not because of copyright. I understand that when you post something on the internet, you're posting it for everyone to look at, and it's going to get shared around. But the comped-up piece of shit you see above (minus my commentary) is all over the internet - it's far more widely distributed than my original version. Back when I used to read my messages here and on Fetlife, I had 12-20 messages per day about stuff like this. Mostly it was people trying to be helpful and telling me "HEY! Look over here, there's another person who smeared shit all over your art!" And it used to take me an hour every morning to cut and paste URLs into DMCA requests to get this kind of crap taken down.
But that's really only the tip of the emotional iceberg for me. About 1 in 10 times that I post a DMCA I'd get a message from the perso
SOPA, Hypocrisy, Scandal, DMCA, and CensorshipMissing The PointSOPA, Hypocrisy, Scandal, DMCA, and Censorship in Personal More Like This
I've been disappointed to see the various responses to SOPA, especially the "DEVIATION CENSORED" images. They so completely miss the point that I can only assume the people posting them have absolutely no comprehension of what SOPA means, why it's a problem, and what they're actually protesting against.
First off, SOPA is not about censorship. Unfortunately, many of the opponents of SOPA decided to cast it as being about censorship in order to mobilize public opinion. Why did they do that? Unfortunately, they did that for two reasons: 1) they knew that without mobilizing mass support, the bill would go through and 2) they knew that the masses they wanted to get support from simply don't care/understand the real problem enough to do anything - because the truth is much to complicated for the typical internet user. I have some sympathy for that view, because I've discovered over and over again that copyright is, in fact, too complicated for the typi
How to make a viking dressI used to be a part of one history reenactment group some time ago. Such groups basically reconstruct elements of daily life of people from a selected time period; my group was interested in early Middle Ages, from the 8th to the 11th century, from the Eastern and Northern Europe. Personally, I used to reconstruct a viking woman from today's Sweden areas. Most of you will be shocked, but vikings were not half-naked barbarians with horned helmets. They had no horned helmets. Really. How to make a viking dress in Art Features More Like This
Anyway, my favourite part of reenactment has always been all the suit making. Buing materials, planning, cutting, sewing (hand sewing!), embroidering. Then, wearing. Generally, viking clothes are very easy to make, though I admit that the materials aren't the cheapest, if you want to make it as much accurate historically as you can.
Our goal: a simple dress, no emboirdery. This is actually my first viking dress I've ever made.
I've prepared a simple tut
Spring Feature of GrimGloomTale It's been rather green, birdy and flowery outside for quite some time now, so it's the proper moment to post our Spring feature. As usual, you'll find here works that have gathered below 100 favourites - and I hope that you'd help to change this lack of appreciation.Spring Feature of GrimGloomTale in Art Features More Like This

passing through the windpassing through the wind in Personal More Like This
...passing through the wind
going down in a tailspin
signs of the airport slipping
deep under the shifting sand
Here I stand alone
doors of blue waiting
for the next white noise
to take me down
Sitting and watching the
birds sail away on a cloud of grey
waiting and counting the ticks
Of the second-hand moving by
day dreams and ice cream dripping
TV screens of yellow and green
the madness swirling pulling me
under her spell only time will tell
If this is all real or a memory
that’s gone that took the wrong turn
"Still I stand alone screaming"
cell phone across the golden dawn

...Love is a forever amber that has my heart burning for you forever...
...As the day must come to an end and the sky becomes firey red...then
comes a peace across the land...
...Sweet thoughts and nothing to hide of lays within...how I long to embrace
and hold you again...
...Red comes with power to weld and to use it to you with a spell...
...To my happy place I do come...a place that has majac in the air...A moment
in time as no one is there... a place to come with no worry and cares...
...As my head twrill in time...do you see me sad...screaming to help me and to
let me out...what could of been...we never be...if you only had the eyes to set

Tutorial: How to straighten a wigOkay, I promised to translate the tutorials I wrote some time ago and today I'm starting with "How to straighten a wig". Please notice English is not my native language, so you might run into spelling, grammar or punctuation mistakes. I'm really sorry and hope you're able to understand it anyways. If you run into any kind of problems while reading feel free to ask in the comments.Tutorial: How to straighten a wig in Personal More Like This
If you are able to understand German you can go to my Animexx weblog and read it there :3 Unfortunately dA doesn't support embedding my pics into the text so I had to put them directly over/under the text. Sorry for that!
I'm just showing you what works for me, so this is a "you can try this" and not a "this is the only way you can do it".
As you might know wigs are made out of plastic fibers. Plastic is a heat bendable material, so this is the essence of the both methods I will show you. Styling your wig with heat will also work for curling it, making spikes and so on. Please be careful whenev
Tutorial: Cosplay Boy Make-up ISo, this is the first part of the "Cosplay boy make-up" tutorial. It has way too much text and pictures to put it into just one journal, so I will divide it.Tutorial: Cosplay Boy Make-up I in Personal More Like This
As always~ English is not my native language so you might come across mistakes. My apologies! If anything is unclear feel free to ask me in the comments.
I'm just showing you what works for me and what's my personal liking. I'm focusing on eye make-up and additional tips. If you think this way of doing a boys cosplay make-up is is using way too much make-up that's totally fine. Everyone has his/her own preferences and this tutorial is just a hint who it can be done.
The shape of eyes differ a lot from one to another, so if you want to try it the way I do my make-up you might have to adjust it to your own eyes. Maybe you have already run into this problem before while seeing a well done eye make-up in a tutorial or worn by an asian cosplayer. Furthermore be aware of the fact that the shape of your eyebrows, wearing c

:icondasghul:: Well but that's not some kind of special title, that's just WHAT YOU ARE! And we're about to prove it here! But I think before showing any examples of that, we should first make our noble audience familiar with why your show hasn't been on much earlier!
So, tell us please! How was your last EXHIBITION?

So, when I asked you if you wanted to be on here, you accepted because, quote, "abreaction of psychological trauma is a continuous part of my work for good reason it seems to tie in well with your project."
What is it you are about to abreact, how does it influence your works, and where do you see them ties?
It is a form of exorcism. Abreaction visualizes the horrific, much like physically shaking off trauma imbedded in the body, visual abreaction releases it from permanently blocking life. (-Dissociation)
In principle facing 'befriending' Demons diffuses their power.
:icondasghul:: Oh wow, now that one is dated 2008… I guess you must have exorcized quite a lot of demons since then?
So what would you say, is the main difference between "befriending" ones and others?
