A few minutes after Scollex had disappeared, Kage continued laughing. But in a short amount of time, the amused feeling faded; only to be replaced by pain.
The sharp pain of the large open wound on his chest was excruciating. Kage stumbled backwards, hitting the wall of a building. He grabbed the wound, as if covering it would make it stop hurting.
He heard a door open, along with a few windows, and voices were heard; humans would arrive soon. Panicking, Kage grabbed the wall that he had fallen onto and strained to climb up. He managed to scale the building and reach the roof, although he left a trail of blood smeared onto the wall.
Kage left a few seconds before a human arrived to see what the ruckus was about. Still dripping blood, Kage difficulty made his way back to the old building with the room. He climbed the side, and then opened and entered the room through the window.
Back inside, Kage fell to the ground, feeling light headed and weak due to the loss of blood. Looking around

Author’s note: If you have not yet read Sadist and do not want spoilers, then I’d recommend reading it first. This contains direct spoilers for Chapter 9 and Chapter 11, and would take out some of the fun from reading the other chapters as well. If you haven’t read Sadist, then there’s a link to it in the description.
This first person view of Zehnder is not from the whole of Chapter 9, it starts at the point where he is in the middle of killing the people at the gazebo, but ends where the chapter ends. This is also a practice of the present tense for me, so don’t expect that to be great.
Grinning, I glare at the last person free of my tendrils or death. She seemed to be in a trance of fear, but hell, that happens a lot when I stare at people.
She starts to move again, coming out of her trance like state. I watch as she fumbles to get something out of her purse; maybe I’ll give her a chance, at least she hasn’t run away like that last pa

Kurai put his hand to Kage’s neck, trying to feel for a pulse; but there was nothing. He felt his wrist, still nothing. Kagekao was gone.
Kurai laid the body on the ground gently, and then stood up. He looked up at Scollex, his one remaining eye blazed with hatred. Scollex was silent, but then started to laugh; he laughing at his pain.
Rapidly unsheathing his claws, Kurai ran towards Scollex.
“お前殺す!!” (I’ll kill you!!) He snarled ferociously, but Scollex merely stood there; watching as the enraged demon ran towards him.
Then Kurai noticed something that he wished he had noticed before; there was something higher up in the tree that was near Scollex. There was a scroll attached to the tree. It seemed to be blowing in the wind, despite the fact that there wasn’t even a gentle breeze; the air was still.
Scollex still held Kage’s eye in his hand, he looked at it, and then to Kurai; showing it to him mockingly. Kurai snarled an

The doors burst open, several policemen rushed inside; guns aimed and ready. Others stayed outside, some in the open and some crouched behind the police cars.
“So, how do we do this?” Doku whispered frantically to Kage.
“Want to take the ones outside? I’ll stay inside and get these ones.” Kage replied, unsheathing his claws.
“Ah, sure; just be careful.”
“I will, don’t worry.” Kage jumped to the wall and quickly climbed to the ceiling.
Doku went the other way, grabbing his bladed staff and going through a window. Outside was dark, from the roof Doku could see all around. Police cars surrounded the building, maybe half a dozen or so. Beside them were the police.
Doku stayed in the shadows, looking to see which ones to get first. He spotted two of them who were quite close to the building. He moved over to them quietly, without being noticed.
Then he shot out the bladed staff, piercing one of them in the shoulder. They cried out
