"What's going on here?" Hatter asked, a slight growl in his tone, Alice backed away slightly,
"Hatter?" she asked, but he wasn't looking at her any longer, instead, he was looking at the space that the cat had just evaporated from, staring daggers at it, as if the cat were still there.
"Hatter?" Alice called out again, as a swirling malevolence churned in his eyes.
"HATTER!" she practically screamed, and he finally snapped out of his trancelike state,
"I'm fine," he choked out, his eyes sinking back into a slightly worried vibrant green.
"Really?" Alice asked, caressing the Hatter's cheek, it seemed chilled, and goose bumps rushed up her arms to her neck,
"Really." Hatter looked directly in her eyes, and his tone was final, meaning he didn't want to discuss it any further, Alice let out a sigh,
"Alright." she said, "I think I'm going to go let the White Queen know I'm here."

The Hatter hadn't seen Alice in two days. He sat in his room, making endless hats, as black as his mood, going over every second of his last encounter with Alice. Finding her crying at his door, their small talk, where he revealed his need for her, and the kissing. Oh the glorious kissing, and then the frightful stupor Alice went in, almost as if she had fallen asleep. Then she was screaming herself back to consciousness. Had there been a moment within all of this that the Hatter had done something wrong? He couldn't think of a single thing, and it left his mind running, something he didn't like it to do.
