Pursuing The DreamAs a child my head was full of dreamsPursuing The Dream in Free Verse More Like This
But as I grew things didn't go as planned
The mental picture never quite matched up
It's something I couldn't understand
And though I aged I never stopped dreaming
New puzzle pieces came into play
There weren't instructions showing how to build
Without a map I made my own way
My childish fantasies have evolved over time
Core values twist but rarely change
It's possible that I just see them differently
To think I've grown that much is strange
The simple things I wanted have multiplied
Each little journey seems more complex
I guess this is just part of growing up
