ZADR Orange Chapter 001
"Jerks..." muttered the teenage boy from his hiding spot inside the boys' bathroom stall. He had been stuffed into a locker- AGAIN!- and had to be let out by a teacher after at least two hours of slamming on the door and waiting for somebody to hear him. To make matters worse, he had been yelled at almost immediately afterwards for missing class. A fairly typical day for him, though annoying nonetheless. Things like this had started happening to him on a daily basis ever since he had first entered high school, and the rumor going around that he was gay did not help matters at all. So he found himself once again hiding out in the bathroom, his preferred eating spot during lunch time. Nobody would bother him while he was in there. Well...at least, nobody human.
He snapped his head up from his food when he heard the bathroom door opening and quickly pulled his feet up onto the toilet seat until whoever had entered, left. That's when he heard an all too familiar voice.
"Argh! Those HORRIBL

After giving the other's proposal some thought, Dib finally frowned and shook his head. "No! You're lying to me!" he said though Zim wouldn't give up.
"Oooh, come on! How will you know if I am or not unless you let me go and see?!"
"I just know! You always lie to me!"
"Cooome ooooooooon! Aren't you at least a LITTLE curious?"
Dib let go of Zim. "Fine! You can go! I already know you're not going to give me anything no matter how interesting you try to make it sound to me!" he sent Zim a truly hurt look before turning and shuffling away.
"HEY! Zim didn't lie!" Zim grabbed Dib and jerked him back around to plant a big kiss right on his lips.
Eyes growing wide at the small gesture, Dib could only blink a few tears out of his eyes before pulling away with blush, taking a few steps back as he brought his hands up to play with his fingers shyly, gaze fixed on the ground beneath him."Wh-Why did you kiss me? Curling in on himself and sniffling wetly, Dib let out a small whimper in his sleep.
Zim felt a sharp stab through his chest like before. "I'm sorry, Dib...I did it all..."he said before curling up even more around Dib.
Continuing to sleep on for several more hours, it wasn't until some time later that Dib finally began to come around again, blinking his eyes open and feeling a bit disoriented at first about where he was . "Hmmm?" he sounded out, looking about the room.
Having migrated to one of the corners of the room, Zim laid curled up on the floor across from him.
Blinking his eyes a few more times, Dib looked about the room some more before remembering where he was and sitting up quickly in the bed. "Z-Zim?" he looked over and noticed the Irken

Contrary to what Dib thought, Zim could only smile at his words before responding back in a soft voice to him. "But, Dib...Things were different back then. This is special." he leaned in to kiss the boy. "I can wait for this." he assured the other comfortingly.
"Y-You'll be my first...A-And hopefully my only, b-but...But I'm not your first, am I? S-Something was going on between you and your leader, wasn't it? A-At least, something was going on between you two in the past..."
Zim merely chuckled a little, however. "No, Dib. You're not entirely right on that. Yes, I had a fling with my Tallest, before they took over that is...But we never actually HAD sex...We started...But we had never gotten past foreplay." he blushed, a little embarrassed now. Staring at the bit of sleeve being offered to him for several long moments, Dib seemed to hesitate before finally taking it from the other to wrap tightly around his wounded arm. "This should be good enough for now. I-I just hope it doesn't begin to bleed through at any point." he said before finally looking back up at Zim. "Th-Thank you..." he thanked the other, a small blush gracing his face.
Smiling back at the boy, Zim moved in to kiss him on the forehead, pulling back after a moment or two. "Don't mention it..." he smiled wide at the other before lifting his gaze up to the ceiling to have a look around. "We have to find a way to get you out of here...Then I have to find the Tallest." he said, searching for some safe way to smuggle Dib out of there.
Eyes widening at those words, Dib burst out in disbelief at what the other had just said. "W

Dib's voice fell with his last statement as he was having a hard time admitting to himself that he may very well die on this mission. "Please, Gir. Dropping a giant pile of papers on his desk, Miss Bitters then pointed out the door. "Fine! Now get out of here!" she ordered Zim to leave her classroom.
Grabbing all the papers, Zim wasted no time at all making a break for Dib's house. "M-Maybe...Maybe he will forgive me." he said to himself, holding the papers tightly as he made his way to the human's house. Arriving at the house within a matter of minutes, he hesitated before making his way up to the front door. "Well...Here goes nothing..." he whispered to himself before knocking on the door.
Answering the door a few moments later, Gaz could only glare at him when she saw who it was. "What the hell do YOU want?" she demanded, standing in the doorway with her arms crossed, tapping her foot on the ground impatiently, having had to pause her game to answer the door.

Watching as Zim left with Purple, Dib suddenly felt rather uncomfortable being left alone with only Red, unsure whether he should leave or stay.
Closing the door behind them, Purple then turned to face Zim once they were alone, circling him a few times before slinking up behind him to place two hands with long, slender fingers on his shoulders. "So...Tell me, Zim...You 'like' this Dib-human that Red has been talking about this entire time?" he questioned the other, almost suspiciously.
Zim blushed at having Purple so close. There had been a reason why he preferred to speak with HIM over Red after all, the same reason Red always wanted him gone. "Yes...I like him." he answered back confidently, eyes fixed on anywhere but Purple.

"WHAT?! B-But the Tallest said...It's supposed to be a ZOO!"
"Heh...Not anymore, it's not."
"You-!" Zim attacked the drone in his rage, knocking him out cold and then attempting to leave the room. "Locked!" he growled, blasting at the door, searching the interior for any sort of air vents, attacking the walls, and attempting just about anything else he could think of to escape. But after an hour or so of failed attempts, he finally sank back down to the floor and curled up in a fetal position, his conflicting emotions bringing tears to his eyes. Gaz couldn't take it anymore. She was sick and tired of having to listen to her father complain about every imperfection he found in Dib. "If you were home more, you would have known this about us!" she turned to scream back at him before storming down the stairs, just mad enough at Membrane to help Dib save Zim.
Jumping at the sound of his sister stomping down the stairs, Dib quickly turned his head to look back at her. "G-Gaz?" he couldn't believe his eyes as he watched her come up next to him so she could kneel down and take up her own towel to help him dry Zim off.

Surprised but pleased at finding himself this close to his human, Zim stretched up onto the tips of his toes so he could rest his head against Dib's shoulder, reading the board too. "Hey, look!" He pointed at a bright flyer. "All applicants for homecoming king and queen need to talk to the principal before January 10th!"

Dib lowered his binoculars and leaned back against the trunk of the tree he was perched in. It was recess and he was doing his usual spying on Zim. They were in Hi-Skool by now and Zim hadn’t managed to take over Earth yet. Not that anyone really expected him to. He’s shown his incompetency so many times Dib stopped worrying about him long ago. He just liked observing the many odd quirks the alien had.
His curiosity was piqued slightly. What function did the antennae serve? As long as he’s known Zim and he’s never really figured it out. He assumed they were for hearing and expressing emotion, as they often shot straight up when their owner was surprised or laid down flat when he was angry. But was that all they were for?

Zim clenched his fists under the table as an unidentifiable emotion boiled in him, white-hot. It certainly wasn't jealousy. Of course not. Why did he care if Dib was talking to the females? He didn't care at all. It kept him distracted. So he could work on an evil plan without being noticed. Or something.
He shoved his tray of school food aside and took a blueprint out of his PAK, spreading it out and drawing on it, humming loudly, watching Dib out of the corner of his eye.
Dib glanced at him and made a move as if to get up, then changed his mind and relaxed again, looking back at Gretchen. She smiled at him, flashing her perfect teeth; years of heavy-duty dental work had finally paid off. She didn't have braces anymore and her overbite was gone; she was quite beautiful now.

And it didn't help matters that they were in Hi-Skool by now and Dib was almost seven feet tall. Insanely tall compared to the short Invader. Zim, of course, hated Dib even more because of that.
By now they had reached some sort of mutual agreement; neither was capable of winning their endless battle. They were just too evenly matched somehow. They had also discovered that if either were to be permanently defeated, the other would most likely end up depressed and lose their drive.
So actual physical battles ceased to be about a year ago. Now they just insulted each other across the classroom or threw stuff at each other. No different than any other Hi-Skool rivalry, really.

He closed his eyes as he remembered the last time he had seen him.
It was ninth grade, about halfway through the school year. In an attempt to make school more fun and perhaps revive some crushed spirits, a school dance was held. It was nothing formal, and you could come in whatever you wanted as long as it adhered to the dress code, that is. But no one paid attention to that stupid thing anyway.

Dib rolled his eyes. Of course Zim would be going off again. This time was no different to the last, except instead of rambling on about the cafeteria food giving him blisters, he was directly addressing the cafeteria drone herself. "I leave in a week," he whispered softly, as if Dib could have forgotten. It was too dangerous for the human to be around the base in that week, and Zim had to prepare to leave. So this would be their last time together. And neither knew how long he would be gone.
"I love you. Remember that while I'm gone, okay?"
"...Yes. I love you too."
They spent the rest of the time together, not saying anything. Just enjoying the last peaceful moments they could.

'A test,' Zim thought to himself, 'It must be...'
Zim had to find a suitable mate on this filthy planet... and a disgusting male on, no less. The alien couldn't think of many possibilities...
Keef, of course, came to mind. All the Irken had to say would be that he needed a 'favor' from his 'bestest friend', and he would have a mate in no time.
However, Zim cringed at the mere thought of coupling with that wormbaby.
That's when he heard a small groan. The Irken jumped slightly, having forgotten about the Dib in his ba- The Dib... Zim smirked.
Perhaps he could find a mate easily after all... He went over to the couch. The boy hadn't fully woken up yet,, but he was writhing slightly.
Zim sat on top of him. The alien tilted his head to the side as he looked his enemy over.
He wasn't as overly repulsive as some of the others... This just might

"Transmission failed, my Tallest." a tech reported.
"Failed?" Purple questioned. "Maybe he's not at home..."
"Maybe he's dead." Then, the monitor beeped.
"Incoming transmission from Earth, my Tallest."
Both Red and Purple grinned expectantly.
On said planet Earth...
Zim managed to get the human boy to his base. He proceeded to bound Dib's arms and legs so that he couldn't escape. Just as Zim was considering what to do with the unconscious boy, the Computer interrupted.
"Master, you missed a transmission from the Tallest..."
"My Tallest?!" the Irken exclaimed. Zim pulled up the screen in his living room and tried to get a transmission through to his leaders. It went through, and the alien took a second to remove his disguise before he saw his Tallest.
"My Tallest!" Zim exclaimed again, and saluted them. The leaders were only looking at the invader in mild amusement. The shortest of the three alien's antennae began to fall back.
"My Tallest...?" They

"Hello, Dib-human. How are you feeling, hmm?" he asked. The alien ran a gloved hand lightly across the other's cheek. They were going to be mates soon after all, may as well start being... sweet.
The boy only glared at his enemy; wondering what he was planning this time. He tried to turn his head, but winced slightly. Where he had hit his head was a large lump.
The Irken looked at him curiously.
"What's wrong?" Dib looked at Zim in slight shock. There seemed to be some actual concern in his voice. Before the human could react, Zim moved his head to see the injury.
Dib heard him hiss in disapproval and mumble something in Irken. Something extended from the alien's PAK that the boy couldn't see, but he felt it rubbing across where he'd hit his head.
He shifted uncomfortably. An unpleasant smell invaded his senses; making his eyes water. Then it was done. Whatever Zim had used was put back into his PAK.
"There, Dib. You're fine now." he said simply, and snapped. The b

"What was that, alien?" An all too familiar voice sneered beside the green boy.
"Nothing, Dib-human. Leave Zim alone." the Irken mumbled. Dib blinked in surprise. Zim not yelling? Saying he was 'normal'? That was a shock. The real shock, however, was what he said next.
"I'm leaving, Dib." The statement was fairly simple. Three simple words. But it was enough to as good as stop the boy's heart.
"W-what?" Dib asked. No. Zim couldn't leave. He.... couldn't! Zim was his proof! Zim was... the closest damn thing the human ever had... to a real friend.
"Zim said, I'm leaving Dirt-child. I'm getting off this horrible mud-ball of a planet. Is there a problem with that?" Dib considered that. A problem? No. No problem at all. If Zim left, the Earth would be safe. Of course, Dib would have no goal. Nothing to accomplish. No menace to stop.
"No. No problem. Leave, you horrible space monster! Why would I care?
ZADR... Don't AskDib sat on the hill; watching his town, his city, his planet burn. Zim had done it. He'd actually destroyed the humans. All except Dib. Zim sat behind the human boy and wrapped his arms around him.
"Dib," he said lovingly. The boy flinched.
"Enjoying the view?" the Invader asked. Dib went ridged, but refused to verbally acknowledge Zim.
"I did all of this for you, Dib. These people. They hated you, called you insane, put you in a crazy house. Now they can't hurt you anymore." The tears streamed faster. "I kept you for a reason, Dib. You are mine." the alien said. The boy opened his mouth to say something, but shut it immediatly.
"Very well, Dib. You can talk with me later." Zim said, and picked the human up. He cradled the boy in his arms. Loud, broken sobs escaped the boy. He cried into the Irken's neck. Everyone he knew was dead. Everyon

He is my enemy.
I hate him.
I always have,
Then, he stops.
"Do you remember that night, Dib...? Hmm?"
No... Please... Don't make me remember...
So very long ago.
The night they WERE something more,
To each other.
The night when they set out,
Not to hurt each other,
But to pleasure each other.
One night of bliss,
Then it was gone.
Zim was gone the next day,
Not sleeping next to Dib, as was expected.
And from then on,
It wasn't mentioned.
Except on occasions,
When the Irken wanted to make the boy suffer,
That one night,
So long ago.

A scowl crossed the face of the green skinned youth as he walked the halls of the community hospital with his trainer while tuning out a good part of what she said to think on how ugly the color white was. So blindingly boring and easily stained, which is why he wore dark red colored nursing outfits which contrasted neatly with his skin though often tempted people to make Christmas jokes.
Whatever Christmas was.
He turned back in about the time the nurse he was training under ONCE AGAIN warned him that he was only there as a student in training and was under no circumstances alowed to administer any sort of drugs to patients.
'So basically I'm going to be playing maid to a bunch of germy sick people.' He wanted to complain but thought better of it. He was here to do a job and if playing maid was how he was going to do it then play maid he would.

The rest of that class went pretty okay for the two, even with Keef's persistent demand for attention. The two managed a way to avoid Keef but at the same time make their way to the cafeteria table. Food included!
Dib was currently eating a bologna sandwich, smiling up at Zim the whole time. Sitting next to the other made him so happy now for some reason. Nothing in the world could take that away from Dib; not now anyway. Even if bullies did threaten to beat him up, with Zim by his side, he felt on top of the world!
Zim didn't actually eat his lunch, but he did poke at it some before disregarding it completely in favor of talking to Dib, something he really liked doing, a hell of a lot more than talking with Keef as that boy never listened.
Thats when a very interrupting finger tapped on Zim's shoulder from behind.
Dib glanced over. It was a small group of very popular girls with hair all up and sparkly and lipstick that only barely distracted their onlookers from how revealing t

It was about one when Dib woke up again. He breathed in a cold whiff of air, the TV still buzzing in the background. His head hurt, but not too badly. He propped himself up and recalled all that happened. Zim had taken a nap as well, that's right.
Up in the bedroom, Zim had finally forced his pak to shut down and now, over three hours later it found no logical reason to wake him up, so he lay there, hugging a pillow to himself and sleeping soundly.
Dib adjusted his glasses, sighing mid-yawn, and made his way up the stairs, farther away from the buzzing TV and closer to his personal queen.
He snuck into Zim's room. Crap, he was still asleep!
Tip-toeing over and squatting on the floor, he rested his head inches away from Zim's face.
Zim jumped and fell half way off his bed, catching him self on his arms so he didn't fall completely. "The Hell was that for?" Zim asked grumpily, climbing back on to sit on the bed.
It had appeared Dib returned to normal. "I was awake. You were asleep

It was the dreaded day; the dreaded day for Dib.
Dib paced back and forth in the room. His fingers were tangled in his mess of black hair. He was being released today! His father would come for him, and he'd be taken home. That was one step closer to school the very next day. The day he'd be forced to go to school.
It didnt help matters any now that he couldnt speak. He wasnt even aware if his father knew he couldnt speak; nobody tells Dib anything about his father's where abouts or anything about his knowing that Dib even really existed. And now, now with school, now nobody would know what he was saying, not even teachers! "Okay, what's your name?" And then Dib would have to write it in the air with his fingers. Everybody would hate him even more than they already did. They'd have new purpose to mess with Dib, he knew it.
Now, what if something happened? He wouldnt even be able to scream this time to catch any adult's attention to help; not like they did

The school bell rang in an annoying manor, and teens swung their backpacks over their shoulders to leave the doomed room they were force to wait and listen in. It was English class. The English teacher, a round woman of the name Mrs. Maloy walked past Zim, giving him a hateful look before finding her place back in her own teacher's desk.
Zim scurried out of the room to quickly lose himself in the crowd of much taller humans. Even with the growth hormones he was still incredibly short, but that would soon change. He smirked as he made his way out of the school and ran all the way home, having just barely enough time to get to work after quickly changing and giving his SIR unit a few chores to do while he was gone.
Dib glared at the alien coming into his room much like he had the day before and the day before that, but now for a totally different reason.
"You're late", said the notebook being held over the head of the scowling boy.

"Dib!" Zim barked from the doorway, setting the food down on a counter to try and catch Dib in time.
Dib went wide eyed and almost choked on the stick down his throat when he realized Zim was right there. Quickly, the human began pulling the stick out and hide it behind his back as if none of that had happened.
He stared at his alien nurse with wide eyes. All of the color his face might have possessed was suddenly washed away in his tensed, fearful state.
"What was that?" Zim asked, trying to look behind the boy's back.
Dib shook his head quickly to show that it was nothing, and lightly with his fingers pushed the lolli-pop stick under his pillow without moving his arm too much. He gave Zim a reassuring smile and shrug and he grabbed his book and began looking through it once more as if this never happened, despite what his heart said about this.
Zim gave Dib an odd look before going over to grab Dib's breakfast and bring it over to the table for Dib.
Breakfast this morning was eggs, s
