In Bangkok, Thailand, students are being arrested for raising their hands in the air to flash Katniss’ three–finger “freedom” salute.
That’s right, the Katniss who’s the fictional heroine of the popular dystopian sci–fi “Hunger Games” movie series. The world has changed over the last few decades in a very big way, but some are apparently unaware of it or undisturbed by the stunning ramifications.

Early life becomes an exploration of invisible parameters, circles beyond circles, as one pushes out to test the boundaries of safety. There is one’s bedroom, one’s home, neighborhood, school and town, state and nation. Early on, maps become important documents – declarations of being and rights and privileges. In the art world, throughout history, maps have been a constant measure of human progress, from the Phoenecians recording their trade routes over 2000 years ago, or pre-Columbian times in which map

Living Rainbow Taking Flight
The vibrant digital paintings of alicexz are fiery, emotional, and incredibly memorable.
The colors of her creations (mostly portraits of popular TV and Film characters) are unusually vibrant, which is remarkable considering how layered they appear to be. It’s sort of like what manga characters might look like if painted by one of the Dutch Masters. And this artist exhibits just the right amount of quirkiness to leave us wanting to know more: she has a penchant for painting redheads. But, then of course, there’s a lot of red and golden fire burning through most her artworks.

The recently announced changes to the core mythos of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the backlash from fans over the ending to Mass Effect 3 have ignited an incredible discussion about the rapidly evolving “collaborative” relationship between producers and consumers of videogames, movies, and similar “products.” Now it’s exploded beyond the secure borders of top news publications, gamin

There’s something about the brilliant colors of the dying leaves of autumn that reflects the wonders and the sorrows of life. It’s as if by waking up each morning into this beautiful world of natural colors, we are being given our bittersweet reward for surviving another year on the planet. We are regaled with a brief seasonal ceremony of the turning of the leaves, nature’s gift for our eyes as a promise she will soon return after her yearly rest. And then it’s time to let winter’s grey pallor unfold over us in blankets of dark cold rain and bright brisk snows; we sleep, the autumn’s leaves having promised

Comics I'll never draw: TransformersProbably my last journal on this subject (Unless I for some reason think up more fan-fics that I'll never draw.) this time covering my fan-fiction concepts for the ruined forever franchise that is Transformers.Comics I'll never draw: Transformers in Personal More Like This
Possibly the most insanely ambitious concept for fan-fiction, I somehow actually wanted to attempt to completely re-imagine/rewrite the entire Transformers mythos to the point that I honestly didn't know where to begin, even here.
I definitely wanted to get away from the space magic element, and try for a much more sci-fi feel. Even when it came to the concept of Primus and Unicron's origins. Toning down the whole space god element and making them alien beings of cosmic energy.
The origin of the Transformers would be a mixed one that I never was quite sure how to handle. Not a completely original idea; I wanted to have it be the Quintesson who discover the planet form of Primus, an enriched sphere of minerals they begin cyberforming into what will be dubb
Comics I'll never draw: BatmanWhile coming to terms with how much of a failure I have become, I continually hold on to this idea that one day I will draw a fully thought out comic series of some sort. Even though years of procrastination are evidence to the contrary.Comics I'll never draw: Batman in Personal More Like This
One thing I am willing to except that I will never draw out in comic form are my fan-fic ideas. And I have sadly many of them. But just for this journal I'll be going over my warped fan boy concepts for Batman.
My main idea I once had for Batman was to actually create an alternate origin story in where a young Bruce happens upon a secret door in his house leading down into a preexisting bat cave, the reveal being that his father is the Batman, who at this moment just happens to drive up in an 1950's-esque bat-mobile. Bruce is awe-struck until he watches his father stumble from the vehicle and collapse at his feet, succumbing to a gun shot wound. Fast forward to an adult Bruce who has taken his father's place as the Batman, not just to fight crime
Survival MMO GamesEver since Day-Z came out it seems like massively multi-player survival has exploded onto the gaming scene. The down side is most of them all follow the same theme of zombie apocalypse. Almost to the point of feeling like straight up cash in clones, like Sony's H1Z1, that just seems to be trying to cash in on the trend.Survival MMO Games in Personal More Like This
It'd be really cool to see some developers really try and come up with some other apocalyptic scenario for this type of game genre that comes in something other then zombie flavor. Of course being the over imaginative dork that I am I have my own ideas of how I'd approach the concept, if I were some crazy game dev, like I am in my head.
Swap out zombies for aliens. Earth was invaded, and we lost. The overall game concept if maybe the same to most in terms of survival, but instead of avoiding mindless zoms, you're now hiding from UFOs and patrolling teams of alien troops looking for human survivors. Imagine rummaging through a abandoned ne

Brother Against Brother - House of Cards meets Game of Thrones meets Jericho meets The Walking Dead (without the zombies). An increasingly tyrannical United States government, under a power-hungry, Machiavellian president (a Frank Underwood expy) goes too far and does something intolerable (Canceling elections? Arresting opposition? I dunno). A popular movement, from the left, right and center, calls for the President's impeachment. Things escalate, and a protest in Washington turns into a bloodbath. The United States is plunged into a new civil war, with many military and police defecting to the rebels' side. And of course, while the rebels are united against the government, they have very different views on what should emerge from the rubble.
The show would be very gray vs. gray morally, with sympathetic and utter bastard PoV characters on both sides. PoV characters can be leaders, foo
Pick Your Poison BrainstormingI've been thinking about a somewhat detailed scenario, Pick Your Poison, where every major ideology rules a great power, while every minor ideology gets some minor powers aligned to one of the great powers. I'm dividing the world into four blocs, with each bloc corresponding with a corner of the Political Compass test because it's a nice, neat way to arrange everything. The other major aspect of this scenario is that every state is a hellish dystopia based on the most unforgiving straw men their opposition has drawn up. Everyone's sacred cow gets thrown on the grill. If you don't have a sense of humor about this sort of thing, I suggest skipping it (or at least the parts about your blessed bovine). I'm thinking of a PoD sometime before the fall of the Soviet Union (China stays somewhat Maoist before going full crazy later) and a current year in 2115, so modernish states are front and center with sPick Your Poison Brainstorming in Personal More Like This

What's a Troll?
A troll is a small, brutish creature with a loud, piercing howl. They tend to be found mostly around forums and some chatrooms, but they've been spotted all over deviantART.
Contrary to popular belief, the troll is not an entirely aggressive species. When properly fed and socialized, most trolls are docile, fragile beings as long as they aren't overfed or startled.
Trolls tend to vary in size and stature, but one can usually spot a troll by a few identifying features. First, trolls are generally pale creatures with cramped fingers, which are often seen clenche

Drell female officially revealed - Irikah Krios in ME Foundation
Do you remember lieutenant Abrudas from ME:Evolution comic? Yes, that was the first Turian female even shown during the cycle of Mass Effect trilogy.
And now a preview of a new issue of ME: Foundation #12 has appeared... and inside... First official appearance of a Drell Female.
This time they showed Thane's wife that is known to the players through Thane's tales about his past.
So for the time being I'll upload the screens from the preview:
What do you think?
Abrudas was shown several months before Omeda DLC and the official design for Turian females didn't stray far from the comic version.
Maybe that means ME4 will have Drell Females. Who knows. If so, they probably will be similar to Irikah.
