this is by far one of the best comedies of the year. The acting from the cast is
fantastic. You know how I usually say this person was perferably the best? Well
not in this case, everyone was good. The dialogue is hilarious and witty. Now if you
think that this film is a comedy about telekinetic soldiers who just stare at goats
then your dead wrong. This film goes far deeper then that. It shows the value of
life, friendship and a powerful belief in ones choices of living. The story is very well

touching and moving (and funny as hell) movie and one of Cloony's best.

There's also no doubt that Highlander is a good movie with an original and

I think I should be honest with you readers: I'm tired of Zack Snyder.
The slo-mo, the green screen effects and yes, even the slow, though occasionally delightful music videos.
"But Burnout!" you say. "Why do you insist on liking Michael Bay films when Zack Snyder's clearly a better director?"
And there's a perfectly good explanation for that.
You see, Michael Bay is a bad director. This was a man recruited for the 'Got Milk?' commercials and seeing him do films has pretty much consistent. The thing is, he's such a lousy director it's almost humorous trying to stumble over big concepts that his films are either so brain-dead or hilarious to the point of laughing.
But Zack Snyder has potential. I see his films and I can see moments of greatness leaking out. He understands themes, big concepts and even some greater events. He has the potential to make great films but doesn't make great films, instead catering to a niche audience.

Thus, District 9 continues the promotional campaign that Cloverfield left behind, as well as another key fact.

James Cameron's Avatar should not be confused with Nickelodeon's Avatar. James Cameron's Avatar is a sci-fi movie which promises to change movies forever. Bryan and Mike's Avatar is about the last Airbender who's destiny is to defeat the firelord and restore balance to the world. That version is being done by M. Night Shyamalan.
Yeah, I'm worried too.
Anyway, James Cameron has always been known for being a director of sci-fi, and a very good director at that. However, in 1997, he came out with the behemoth Titanic which threw everyone off, including the Academy.
Fans love the movie and haters continue to hate. Me? I thought it was okay.
Now, after more than a decade, he mark his return to theatres with the movie Avatar.
Controversy surrounds this movie like a plague. A giant amount of hype has been built up as has a giant amount of backlash. Look at 4chan, and you can see all the haters waiting to pounce on this movie, much like a cheetah pounces on fresh prey.

The Terminator Franchise has been a long running juggernaut when it comes to Science Fiction. The original 80s film by James Cameron spawned sequels, a TV spin-off and made Arnold Schwarzeneggers movie career. Unlike Star Wars or Star Trek, it didnt take place in a technology based world where everything was clean and shiny. Rather it showed a dark gloomy future and most of the fighting took place in the city streets. It is followed by a spectacular sequel where the Terminator redeems himself and dies all for the sake of John Conner.
But as with many things, times change. James Cameron went off to direct Titanic and got a lap full of Academy Awards while Arnold Schwarzenegger runs and wins the position of Californian governor. Twice. As such, when the third sequel came out, it felt a little disappointing, to lose some of the original charm of the old Terminator.

If there was ever a time you werent sure how you felt on a movie or your opinion clashed with the majority, try this: First see the movie, then write your own little review on it. In the following timeline, I reckon with the "sliding timeline" used by Trek, that is, modifying dates and events to fit real-world historical occurrenses. Star Trek is fiction, thus creating a fictional historical background different from ours is completely acceptable by me. I try not to contradict elements from the Trek history by creating the "past" of the Polaris-Trekverse. I might make deliberate errors to correct some canonical, though ambigous elements. Also, I attempt to create a history that can explain events such as World War III and the Eugenics Wars, as well as the rapid space

Arriving at Earth Outpost 10, the crew meets their new direct superior, Commodore Morgenstern, the sole survival of the 2266 Romulan incursion. The Polaris crew must learn that all they knew about space warfare is nothing when it comes to the Romulans.
The Polaris hunts a Romulan cargo transporter with dreadful cargo: hundreds of human corpses.

The Polaris finds herself on the other side of the Romulan border after an anomalous subspace shockwave. A disabled Romulan Bird of Prey is found with only a handful of survivors. I have just seen the movie and Oh my goodness!!!
I remember how bad the first movie was but this one it makes even the worst Uwe Boll film look like a stunning masterpiece. I spent two and a half hours watching this shit and I was yawning by the first half an hour.
Finally, we got a movie that lampoons/copies

By the way, it draws many elements from some 80's cartoon called "The Transformers". Does anybody remember that?

Some historians consider the Tzenkethi War the Federation's military showoff for the emerging superpower of the Cardassian Union. Others say this small war which ended with a total Federation victory and the humiliation of the proud Tzenkethi race that knew no defeat for uncounted centuries was the continuation of an ages-old conflict within the Federation itself. Thus, it was a proxy war, fought between those who stood for the ideas of the Federation's regime and those who opposed it.
The conflict, they say, began in 2273 AD, when the third starship to bear the name "USS Polaris" (NCC-2782) was dispatched to investigate the war the Tzenkethi fought for the conquest of the Kzinti Patriarchy. Unknown to most of the Federation military, the UE First Fleet starship was tasked with a secret agenda by Leningrad Command: the crew was to help one side to win the war, and whom to support was their choice. The rest is history the crew chose the unknown Tz

The Polaris is sent to the Wolf system to rendez-vous with a flock of Starfleet vessels en route to Earth. She is intercepted by the USS Mason, captained by the Andorian Kharlin Ruhn. Ruhn beams over the Polaris and asks Ashdown on the proceedings on Earth. Ashdown tells him the proposed secession which Ruhn finds an impossible feat. Ashdown tells him how Earth is slowly succumbing to poverty and hunger, things unheard for centuries, only because of the impossible quotas she must fulfil as a core world. Ruhn, facing a similar situation back on Andoria, understands Ashdown and the Terrans and offers his services between Earth and Starfleet.
02: Chain reaction
While Ruhn is busy negotiating with his superiors on calling back the fleet, the Caitian Space Navy sends two cruisers to meet with the Polaris, asking advice on the proposed Caitian secession. Ashdown, who a few months ago convinced Cait to stay within the Federation, is now astonished. M'

I remember the first time I thought one can do a really cool and unique Star Trek fan series. I stumbled upon the site hosting the adventures of the USS Tamerlane some months ago and I immediately grew fond of the ship and her crew. It was so much different than anything Trek I've known before.
During that time, I finished my Constitution mesh (NB: I need to re-mesh that too) and it led to many kitbashes from the Viribus Unitis to the Voroshilov. I was playing around a compact secondary hull I intended to be for the USS Lydia Sutherland, said to be Kirk's first command by Vonda McIntyre, when the spark flashed in my mind: let's combine it with Connie elements. I envisioned a small, old, underpowered ship and I named it Polaris due to its vague similarity to a ship found in the DS9 technical manual.
I rendered the first pic, the Polaris engaged in a battle against a Tholian cruiser and that was the moment I realized that this i

Survey of the Galactic WestThe Western frontier of the United Federation of Planets, commonly known as the Borderlands have always been an object of fascination of spacefarers. Before the rise of the Cardassian threat, this region was dominated by three specias: the Kzinti, the Caitians and the Tzenkethi. The high number of habitable planets of the region (at least one in every three solar systems) has left many planetary scientists dumbfounded. This richness is unprecedented so far out from the Galactic Core, and is, thus, sometimes presented as being a product of an ancient, long-gone civilization's massive terraforming project.Survey of the Galactic West in Short Stories More Like This
The Borderlands were first charted by space telescopes orbiting Earth and Pluto, and later by automated probes in the late 21st century. The high number of M-class planets initiated the colony rush of the early 22nd century, with hundreds of Human starships leaving the Sol system to conquer the unknown frontiers. Little did they know of the dangers of the region.

The rain gutter made a faint creaking sound in protest to the extra weight it now had to support. I listened for a moment, as I clung on to the rain gutter for dear life, to the sounds of the rain pouring down the gutter and the rain beating down against my hat. I will admit to you, my dear reader, that this was not one of my more clever ideas. But something had to be done and fast.
I closed my eyes for a second and tried to calm myself, if only just a little. I had to take this task one step at a time and with the greatest of care. It wasn't just my life I had hanging three stories up. One slip and both Holmes and I would be in a whole new world of trouble. Reopening my eyes, I looked down at the ground below us. Three stories...easy enough. If only the rain would let up.
Holmes was sleeping soundly on my back, his breathing soft and warm on my neck. It tickled slightly and I would have laughed had we been in a different situation. I felt around with my foot for a good plac

Holmes mumbled into my shoulder. I gave him a quizzical look and he nuzzled his face into my neck. "Cold." he said louder. "So cold." I smiled, getting the hint, and ran to the end of the alley.
"Left." Holmes reminded me and I quickly turned left on my heels. "Right at the corner." I rushed over to the corner and took the indicated right. The streets were empty and I felt that the rain was beginning to let up. "Ignore the next alley and take the one after." I looked back at Holmes and he wrapped his arms around my neck tighter, nuzzling his face to my neck again so I could feel how cold his nose was.
"Yes I get it, you're cold!" I couldn't help but chuckle at my friend’s childish behavior and figured that if we made it out of this mess and he forgets, which he very well might, I would have to tease hi

I let myself and Holmes free fall for a few seconds then quickly grabbed onto the rain gutter again. My hands slipped so much from all the rain and the speed at which we were falling that I almost didn't catch it at all. In an effort to stop our descend, I used my knees and unconsciously tried to dig my nails into the wall. A pained gasp slipped my lips and I shut my eyes to try and block out the stinging sensation that was racing up my legs and through my fingertips.
When we finally did slide to a halt, Holmes' body jerked and he nearly fell off my back again. Only this time I was prepared for that. I quickly swung an arm back and made a grab for the back of Holmes' coat. In my haste, I swung my head forward a bit too much and slammed it against the wall. Scraping my cheek and forehead on the gutter and brick wall it was connected to.
I cursed my stupidity and looked back at Holmes. He was still fast asleep with his head resting peacefully on my shoulder. If I could have st

Voices, not just one or two, were rushing up the steps of 221B in quite a hurry. That being the case had meant that Holmes was right about us not having much time. I listened for a moment as the voices grew louder with each pounding step on the stair. "It's this one here!" one of them had said, obviously not caring at all if we could hear them or not.
"But that 'Doctor' will be in there with him!" another whined, spitting out the word 'Doctor' as if it was the most disgusting thing in the universe. I quickly walked over to the door and pressed an ear to it in hopes of counting just how many 'visitors' we had. "Then we'll just have to snag them both, wont we?" a sharper toned man said. I could make out four, very different, laughter’s exploding in the hall just outside the door.
I stepped back just in time to hear one of them knock. It was whiny. "Mr. Holmes, is the 'Doctor' in? We need some help." The four men laughed and pounded on the door. "We know you're both in th
