Made time to create this in between work. I actually had a bunch of sketches which I chose this one from. Wish I could paint up another one but time is ultra short! There are so many awesome entries already! Just entering for fun really... Good luck y'all!
Well, here is my entry... I want to do another one but time is really short :/ My personal deadline is 4th October, can't work on anything after that. Wanted to do thumb No 6 (this is No 16 btw, I reversed front and back of the ship in the end)
My entry for the FIAT imagination contest *because of the size to view the full image need to click it twice*
The concept for the design was to create a unique and interesting illustration that was synonymous with the image of FIAT. I wanted to create something youthful and energetic with a sense of freedom. But I also really wanted to pay homage to FIAT as well. Accompanying the two characters and "cat" are a host of FIAT automobiles from the modern iconic 500, 500 cabrio and 500L, also the performance oriented Abarth, even the less common FIAT Panda. I also illustrated vehicles from the company's history like the classic 500 (my personal favorite) created in 1957 and the FIAT 600 Multipla created in 1956 to the FIAT 126 introduced in 1972. The "festival" is held in mid air above a city with buildings with red tile roofing reminiscent of the architecture of Northern Italy the home country of FIAT.
This was a pretty challenging project, and I really enjoyed it. Very grateful to FIAT and Deviantart for the opportunity. ^_^
My entry for the Scribblenauts Unmasked contest features a bit of a "girl power" theme XD. Maxwell summons Wonder Woman with the backing of her most powerful amazon generals. I really enjoyed drawing this I tried to give each character a distinct personality which is a little hard without a mouth and dots for eyes ^_^". But that's just it, conditions and design limitations encourages one to be more creative. P.s for anyone who knows about Scribblenauts is...Maxwell's design inspired by a Chicken? I noticed while drawing him that his head thingy resembles a chicken's comb ^^". (getting off topic there >_>)
But yup that's my entry also if you have not done so already do check out the rest of the entries. The contest is like a little celebration of all things DC and there are an amazing array of talent on display! I saw characters I never knew existed (and I'm a DC fan).
My entry for the Lexus IS Design contest. As an artist I am heavily influenced by Japanese animation (Anime). and like wise my concept the "ZERO" is heavily influence by anime specifically the machines and robots that are often featured in anime. I wanted this design to evoke images of a heavily armed anime robot, the exhaust nozzles are designed to resemble cannons and the IS's headlamps are trimmed to resemble eyes. At the same time I wanted to stay true to the design philosophy of Lexus. Some may notice the rear center perforations are a not so subtle "wink" at the Lexus LFA and the black roof as well. The Lexus logo is illuminated with blue LED reminiscent of the LExUS hybrid vehicles showing LEXUS commitment to sustainability while being sporty and exciting cars. This was a very challenging exercise but tons of fun, very grateful to Deviantart art and Lexus for the opportunity! ^_^
I made a blue version of the render and although the lighting works better with that i decided to go with the yellow/beigey theme. Turned off shadows and did just a line render. Hopefully this adheres to the requirements
EDIT: Changed the name. I highly doubt there is one with this name
Just a raw render using ink n paint shader. Added some more details to emphasise the scale of the ship As you can see i split up the larger pipes into smaller ones, segmented the armored hull exterior of the top to break up the curves slightly and add some line dynamics, added some louvred style cells along the passenger area and also recessed the top turrents slightly into the ship. This is rendered with 6 duplicated objects so the center is orthographic (i think i will re-render and photoshop in a perspective for the 3d) I think the line render looks best rather than trying to emulate 3d with textures. Also need to add some dimensioning and presentation stuff (not sure if the clean or some sort of techy/grungy approach would be better). Also i have no idea what to call it D:
Anyway i havent worked too much on this because ive kinda started playing Aion (addictively), though i should get this finished before the deadline
My work illustrates a beautiful evening with my friends and neighbors. I added a little twist to the story where James meets other kids and their friends and settle down in a beautiful scenery above clouds....enjoy
RUWAR-TITANIUM was developed to fit the AMARR race and its design preserve the same Art Deco style with curved golden hulls. Spearhead overall shape and big powerful engine accentuates the toughness of the design
Or "I Think You Forgot to Put My Irises Back In, Doc"
It's the next step up from those bizarre contact lenses the goth kids wear. I can definitely see those silly goth kids doing something like this in the future purely for aesthetics. Gotta admit, it'd be pretty sweet, but what would mom say?
Working as a full-time graphic designer doesn't leave much time for fun, games, and commissions nowadays. But luckily a lull in my workload gave me just enough time to throw something together for this contest.
After checking out the splatter-fest videos on the Adidas contest page (which looked pretty awesome), I wanted to go for something that incorporated the elements found in those videos. I wanted something fun, dynamic, evoking lots of energy and of course something with lots of paints and colors. Adidas is a brand known for its athletic gear so, after much thought, I settled on the idea of an athletic girl in Adidas garb running down a dreary corridor bringing color, fun, and excitement with her in the celebratory spirit found in the Adidas finger painting clips.
This particular image went through tons of revisions and it was grueling work to get it to look right because the angle is so skewed. It's a little rough around the edges, but I think the look lends itself well to the wild nature I was going for. I'm pretty satisfied with the result. Hope you kids like.
