GOSH this took me forever to do, but it was worth it in the end! >
I will admit that I didn't do as much as I would like to have credit for, but I take pride in how much time it took to do the clothes, manes, and expressions. I suppose that this is another, "What If" addition!
For those who have actually seen the MLP:FiM episode, "Magical Mystery Cure" you'll know the basic story behind this piece. Basically, a bunch of the nations found themselves with false memories of their pasts, which are switched with each other, and with conflicting thoughts of how they "remember" they should be acting, versus how they're actually used to acting.
Here's a game, what do you think that they're thinking in this picture?
~Fun Author Explanations of the Hetaponies' Lives~
Prussia: Thrust into Japan's life. He believes that he needs to be calm, serious, and refrain from speaking to avoid conflicts, but finds his German temperament fighting with him, much to his confusion and frustration. He's fairly okay at acting reserved, but the resolve to hold his tongue is extremely challenging, especially with his brothers.
Japan: Thrust into America's life. He believes that he needs to be outgoing, adventurous, and always getting his point across in a "heroic" manner but finds his inner Japanese style keeping him from being completely free of worries. He struggles quite a bit speaking so loudly and ignoring his nagging conscious of what he's saying, but he tries his best and can pull off America decently with just the nervousness very blatant.
America: Thrust into England's life. He believes that he needs to be practical, highly mature, and with a completely, no-nonsense attitude, especially when it comes to interacting with England/France, even though he finds "his" lifestyle increasingly dull. He pulls off being in England's life exceedingly well for the most part, but at times can be seen moping around in boredom at the simple, English culture, and is really uncomfortable at times, arguing with England/France.
England: Thrust into France's life. He believes that he needs to be flamboyant, flowery, and to show a boundless love for all of the ponies around him which can feel awkward to him at times when he tries to wear his emotions on his sleeve. England can play in France's role . . . okay. He puts on a good show for the most part, and can actually be pretty convincing sometimes if it's in a casual setting, but if he ever has to unleash his heart's contents fully, then it becomes rather discomforting and embarrassing.
France: Thrust into Prussia's life. He believes that he needs to be loud, brash, and always outspoken in any matters, even though his intuitiveness of other ponies makes him hesitant for a majority of the time. France is actually fairly talented at picking up Prussia's lifestyle rather quickly and going through it rather well. However, he has a, absolutely horrible time dealing with how much ponies can't stand it brash personality, but is confused why it's bothering and affecting him so much all of a sudden, when he has no recollection of hating it so much in the past.
Germany: Just trying to find out what the @%$# is wrong with everypony! XD
This has got to be my new favorite piece, even though it took so long! ^^
