The sun in the distance had sluggishly been falling from its pedestal high in the sky but had now begun to settle into its night time bed on the horizon as it continued its wayward, southerly direction. As it had fallen the days light had begun to fad from its radiant white shine and now the tones of the sky and surrounding countryside had taken on a orange, fire like tone that set the world ablaze.
On a small cliff overlooking the ocean a small white pegasi mare sat, staring aimlessly into the distance. She was small, smaller than her age should have dictated and it had been this fact that had almost caused her untimely demise at a very young age. The distance she stared into was the same space of sky that she helped rekindle some of her earliest memories she held of her childhood.
It was here that she had met her surrogate mother Nova. A beautiful and loving young Griffon who had saved her from an impending fate that the little mare had not chosen for herself. Nova had saved her from
