Twilight felt her face hit the table hard, prompting Luna to look up quickly from her reading. The paper next to Twilight was filled with many crossed out scribbles that once had been notes on what she had THOUGHT were important aspects of each book in an effort to learn more about the author. But no, each note taken was very easily contradicted in the next book which had some other bit of info that would then be destroyed by the next.
There were only four books he had written and each one told the story of a completely different author.
"Are you alright Twilight?" Luna asked blinking curiously.
"I'm just frustrated is all." Twilight said lifting her head and flipping through the next page of 'Sea Ponies: Fact or Fiction?' "These books are almost like they were written by a completely different author. However, I

Twilight threw her hooves up in frustration.
"WHY IS THIS SO COMPLICATED!?" Twilight groaned as she put the latest book she had been browsing through down. It too had yielded her no answers; she was squarely back where she had begun once again.
"You seem stressed Twilight, is this really that important?" Spike asked as he approached her quickly, placing a cup of her favorite tea down next to her.
"Thank you Spike." Twilight sighed softly levitating the cup up to her lips and taking a sip, starting to settle down again, "And it is. This spell is baffling me now. There's no indication in the book it comes from that suggests the spell is bad. Yet I have three separate testimonies that the spell shouldn't EVER be used again." Twilight rubbed her forehead carefully.
"Have you asked them why?" Spike asked curiously.
"Of course I have Spike. But " She took another sip of the tea as she thought about her friends reasons carefully, "Pi

"Twilight? What are you doing?" Her mother asked looking down at the little filly who seemed to be nestled on a pillow surrounded by a fort made out of books.
"The munsters can't get me while I read now!" Filly Twilight spoke up in her young cheerful voice before sticking her nose back into the book and happily read away at her latest adventure.
Celestia stifled a giggle as the more adult Twilight who stood next to her blushed.
"I forgot how adorable you had been." Celestia commented.
"Ahaha yea " Twilight said trying to laugh her blush away. The ghostly image of that memory seemed to fade away and was replaced with another, this one a scene of Twilight's mother reading a book to filly Twilight.
This had been the scene since they had entered the building that looked just like her old home in Canterlot. Various images of memories past blinked in and out of existence, all of them Twilight's. Most in this house were just of her as a little filly, inter

Twilight was doing her best to understand what the three pictures before her meant. Each picture was a distorted mess of color and shapes. At times she thought she had been able to make out the vague shape of a pony or some other shape that she could identify as an object, but it quickly moved back into being a distorted blob.
"I can't make heads or tails of this." Twilight as groaning as she looked back and forth, "How exactly does this spell work? This is my second time doing it and I'm STILL confused." The book didn't explain any further than how to perform the spell and its purpose. Was it supposed to be easy to figure out? Should something have been obvious to her? There were no instructions on how to interpret the pictures, or what she could do to help!
It really seemed like she was purposely being kept out, as if she wasn't allowed to see what each of her frie

However, she had already decided, she had to do what was needed of her.
Fluttershy slowly walked towards the dark creature, it staring at her as if in odd curiosity.
"Father I know that a lot has happened between us " Fluttershy hesitated slowly, drawing nearer, "But everything that has happened is behind us now. I've moved on with my life. I've gained friends I care about deeply, I live happily in a house I own, I found love " Fluttershy smiled softly. Twilight was sitting, staring at the three different pictures that were morphing before her in the infinite swirling darkness around her. She still didn't understand what the pictures meant, but she could only assume that each represented the psyche of one of her friends going through the mind delve.
Suddenly, the one in the middle began to grow dull, the picture slowly growing black.

Outside the door she saw four torches lit around an open arena. A pathway was lit for her leading to it. A fence was placed along the path and arena so she couldn't go anywhere else.
She gently put her lantern away as she walked towards the center of the arena. She could feel small tremors shaking through the world as she walked.
As she reached one side of the arena, from the ground on the opposite side the Slender Pony emerged from ground. He stood tall over her, his presence still bearing down.

Greetings, my name is Twilight Sparkle. I am a unicorn and I am -not- a goth. These are my natural colors. Yes I am the personal apprentice of Princess Celestia and holder of the central Element of Harmony 'Magic' and basically the leader of the Elemental Harmony Squad (Pinkie or Rainbow came up with that name, not me).
Huh? I am NOT a Mary Sue!
1) If I was a Mary Sue I'd have been teaching my new friends what it -meant- to be friends when I first came to Ponyville instead of the other way around.
2) My spell to redirect the parasprite's hunger wouldn't have backfired.
3) My failsafe spell wouldn't have failed.
4) Also I would have defeated an actually Ursa Major instead of pacifying an Ursa Minor.
5) I'd have won the Running of the Leaves race instead of coming in fifth place.
6) I wouldn't have a nervous breakdown every time a plan of mine blows up in my face.

Twilight looked out the window of her study at the swirling black clouds and she frowned. "That is by far the strangest storm I have ever seen."
She had spent the afternoon trying to find information about the history of unnatural storms hitting Ponyville and by unnatural, she of course meant storms that had originated over the Everfree Forest rather than in the Storm Factory in Cloudsdale. But try as she may to concentrate, the whole business between Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie was preoccupying her.
She slammed the tome in front of her closed in frustration. "I've read that same sentence TEN TIMES now!" she muttered. "Confound these ponies! They drive me to distraction..."
She stared out the window. The whole town had been plunged into an eerie darkness. The winds that had come up around an hour ago were growing in intensity. The leaves of the tree the library had been built into shivered and rustled a

"I do hope Rarity and the fillies are OK " thought Twilight as she battled her way through the driving rain. "I don't want to imagine what damage Applebloom and her friends have done to the boutique by now, stuck inside out of this storm!"
Her hooves splashed up muddy water as she trotted, soaking her legs, while about her the storm continued to ravage the little town. Trees bent in the growling winds and the rain was now almost a vertical wall that she had to struggle through. The umbrella she had brought from the library had long since been blown out of her telekinetic grip, and had spiralled off into the deepening darkness.
Twilight was almost at Rarity's boutique when a pony came rushing up to her out of the gloom. It was Nurse Mercy, the head of the Ponyville hospital, and she was in such a hurry that she almost ran straight into the unicorn pony.

Rarity smiled back at her. "Oh, thank you darling. It's just a little question that's come up with a dress I've been asked to design for Hoity Toity's autumn range." She levitated her cup to her lips and inhaled its delicious fragrance. "I'm so glad that you decided to come to the ball with me, Dash!" said Star Catcher. Her mane was done up in a formal style, an abundance of curls fashioned into a crown at her poll, the rest falling down the other side in a waterfall of blue and pink. Her ears glittered with diamond earrings and the necklace at her throat sparkled. Dash had never seen a filly look more stunning. She blushed as she took the hoof Star Catcher offered her and they stepped together through the huge doors that led into the great hall of Cloudsdale Flight School.
The roof of the hall was open to the air and the weather had been expressly designed for the evening's celebration. A sliver of a moon shone down through layers of stratus clouds that lit up in its soft light like a veil of glowing yellow-silver. Gorgeous banks of cumulus surrounded them, and illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun their undersides were aglow,

The voice carried authority. It was the voice of a pony who had the situation under control, who knew what she was doing at all times, almost laughter in the face of peril. But it was also an honest voice, one of compassion and loyalty, one whose softness came not from weakness, but from kindness. It was a magical voice. Most of all, it was a voice of royalty, and it spoke again.
"Twilight Sparkle," said Princess Celestia. "Pray tell, what do you think you are doing?"
In the middle of the large chamber, the unicorn pony Twilight Sparkle searched desperately for an exit, but the royal guards had already blocked them all. The question gave her reason to pause, and she wondered what she was doing. She didn't remember how she had gotten here, only that she needed to escape.

Twilight was wandering through the Swayback Mountains. Somewhere, some part of her knew that this was wrong, that it didn't make sense for her to be here. She knew she was still lost in the Everfree Forest. But these thoughts, if they were real, had no effect on her actions, as she continued her trot toward a stone building set within the mountains themselves.
Once inside, the path slanted downward, into the heart of the mountain, and soon it became too dark to see. At this, Twilight stamped her hooves on the ground in rhythm. Two clops, a pause, and then three clops.
The lights went on in Twilight Sparkle's laboratory. Machines were set against the wall, lights glowing and gears grinding as they worked. At the moment they were connected to an elliptical dish, processing data gathered from the stars. A large circle was etched on the floor with chalk inside

The small equestrian figure moved through the growth of the Everfree Forest, her bright blue eyes rising and falling in the darkness with each step she took. Her skin clung close to her ribs; while she was not dangerously malnourished, she had less meat on her body than anypony would want. She carried in her mouth a crude handwoven basket filled partway with any herbs and grasses she could find.
As she neared the entrance to her den, loud noises ahead of her prompted her to pause. She set the basket on the ground and cautiously approached a clearing in the thick woods, trying her best to stay hidden and preparing to flee at any time. Near the entrance to her den were a mare and a very young filly. The filly was unfamiliar to her and frightened her, but she recognized the mare's violet fur. From the back of the line, Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. "This isn't going to be like the time you tried to take us to Zecora's, is it?"
"We got out of that okay, didn't we?" asked Spike, who was riding on Rainbow Dash's back. As he spoke, he lost his grip on Rainbow's coat and nearly toppled, and he had to grab onto her mane to avoid from falling off altogether.

Fluttershy was exhausted as she returned to her house, the sun setting and painting the world around her a soft and warm russet. She had spent the better part of the afternoon attempting to rebuild a groundhog burrow that had been flooded after the most recent rain. She made a mental note to talk to the Weather Agency at the next chance she got. The rain was important, Fluttershy knew, but there had to be a way to go about it that didn't involve evicting woodland creatures from their homes. A strong breeze whistled through the trees, and the noise seemed louder in the silent twilight hours.
There was something off about the weather, thought Fluttershy. Every part of the weather had to serve a purpose. The strong winds would just cause damage and scare little fillies, and there wasn't much reason for the flying crew to let it happen, not when the wind could be redirected to flow around Ponyville. At least, Fluttershy assumed it could; she'd left her wea

Pumpkin dug her hooves into the earth in irritation. "I know," she groaned. "But we're finally getting a move on, and even then you're slow."
Pumpkin had been ready to leave not long after Twilight had met Fluttershy, but Twilight had refused to let Pumpkin go off into the Everfree Forest on her own. Fortunately, Fluttershy had somehow managed to get Pumpkin to stay, as Twilight would have been unable to force the issue herself.

She didn't get a chance to write a second sentence before Applejack pushed the paper away from her. "Now hold on, Twilight," she said. "Don't you need to address it first?"
Twilight swallowed. "Address?" she stuttered.
"Yeah, you silly filly," interjected Pinkie Pie. "Address means you write the name of the pony you're sending it to."
"I know what it means," said Twilight resentfully. She raised the quill to the paper again, but didn't write. She stared at the paper nervously, then at Applejack, then at the paper again. Beginning to sweat, she squeezed her eyes shut, trying to think of a way out.

The world felt hazy around Twilight, as if it wasn't entirely certain what it was supposed to look like. Objects around her seemed wavy and out of focus, and she couldn't look at them without getting a headache. The walls of the cave were almost smooth like oil, and the entire experience felt psychedelic.
This was another dream, thought Twilight. It had to be. She realized that this was the first time she was aware she was dreaming. She wondered what would happen if she went crazy and broke character, but she didn't dare disrupt what was already in progress. If these dreams had a meaning, she wouldn't figure it out by turning them into her own playtime. She had to behave and do what the dream asked her to.
There were hoofbeats behind her; she wasn't alone. When she turned to look, however, she couldn't make out the faces of her comrades, nor how many there were. If this was a memory, it was a memory from long ago, the details long since washed aw

"You were right, Applejack," said Rarity.
She was standing over the magnifying sheet she used to inspect jewels. Two pieces of paper lay next to each other on a table. Applejack peered anxiously over her shoulder, curious to see what the other pony had seen, but also desperate to avert her eyes from anything else in the room. There was something about the Carousel Boutique that always put Applejack on edge. As far as the earth pony was concerned, the frilly outfits that decorated the back room were no different than shackles, and just looking at them made Applejack feel trapped.
"I don't see it," admitted Applejack. "Both of them look the same."
The first slip was the note Twilight had left. The second was a star chart Twilight had left with Rarity for reference during the fashion show incident. Notes were scrawled in the margins, labeling the constellations.

Part 3 Jury-Rigging
Rainbow Dash shivered in the late evening cold. She knew it shouldn't bother her; after all, anypony who had flown above the clouds, or through them, must have faced worse temperatures at one time or another. Anypony who could break the sound barrier and not mind the wind chill had no right to complain about a breeze. Yet attitude was ninety percent atmosphere, and Rainbow Dash knew this more than most ponies. And in the suffocating darkness of the Everfree Forest, even the gentlest sensations could feel threatening.
After Doctor Whooves had left, the group had adjourned while Twilight worked on a plan to open a gate between worlds. Knowing each passing hour could mean the difference between their Twilight's rescue and her death, Rainbow Dash found herself unable to focus on anything. One of her earliest ideas had been to arrange the desks and chairs in the shape of the traditional schoolroom, but Blueberry had talked her down from this, and she had later grudgingly admitted that sitting in rows on tiny chairs designed for foals wouldn't have been conducive to an entertaining evening of socialising. "Haha, must've fallen off," she said to herself.
Rainbow Dash haphazardly dusted herself off, and began making her way to Rarity's Boutique.
" Here goes."
It's was morning. Well, a few hours past morning. Rarity had stayed up all night, scrambling to finish Rainbow Dash's dress. She couldn't help but wonder what Rainbow would use such a frilly, pink dress for, or why she needed it so soon. It wasn't often she'd receive rush orders, but then again it wasn't often Rainbow Dash of all ponies ordered anything from

Rainbow Dash didn't remember falling asleep. In truth, as her mind slowly recognized the minute details of self-awareness that heralded a slow trip back into the world of conscious thought, she struggled to recall anything that had happened the preceding day. Instead of the idle thoughts and early musings that were normally apt to fill her groggy mind at such a time of day, the first coherent product of her newfound consciousness was an image. It was an image that started out shrouded in a palette of blurred colors and unintelligible shapes but gradually grew more and more perceivable as her mind's eye reached new levels of clarity with every p

The scream woke Applejack and brought Nurse Redheart running towards the room.
Thrust up from sleeping by the sudden noise, the orange earth pony mare rubbed her eyes as she tried to make sense of the scene before her. As the blurriness of sleep faded from her vision, she shook her head to fully activate her awareness. Her gaze fell upon the bed in front of her, and what she saw caused her to jerk her head up, senses aroused by the sight before her. She sat up in the chair that she had fallen asleep upon the night before. The cyan pegasus who she had watched drift off to sleep herself only a few hou

Celestia's sun shone brightly up in the pale blue sky, sending arcing beams of light down through the air to illuminate the scene. Every cloud shone with the bright white of pure sunlight reflecting off of water droplets. The densely packed formations of water droplets floated lazily in place. Each formation was a place where a pegasus pony could stop and rest, and none were as large as the collection of clouds which safely held hundreds of ponies in the air at once. From the weather factories to the Cloudesium, the city of Cloudsdale was a floating metropolis for the the winged citizens of Equestria.
At this moment, dozens of those winged citizens were gathered in the Cloudesium, attending a very special event, an event featuring ten pegasus ponies who all stood nervously in a row, lined up next to one another in front of a stage made of clouds. More pegasi were spread about the large stadium, mostly families and friends of the ten down in front. Th

Streaks of bright, white light breaking over the far-off horizon signaled the rising of a new sun and the beginning of a new day. The beams of sunlight cut through the dense fog of the chilly early morning like a knife through butter. The thin, wispy accumulation of water droplets began to melt away under the onslaught of energy from the newly-risen light source. The vapor gradually returned to its usual invisible form in the early morning light, revealing another clear sky, set to greet the earliest of risers with its wide open vistas of chilled air.
Light, no longer impeded by the wispy fog, now freely found its way to spread across the landscape, falling across building, tree, and mountain alike and bathing them all in the first wondrous illumination of a new day. Striking the frosty panes of a glass window, a beacon shone into the bedroom of a cozy farmhouse a bedroom where two ponies slept peacefully in each other's warm embrace. Hazily slipping back to consciousness, Applejack was vaguely aware of water flowing over her legs and body. Groaning, she flicked her eyes open, allowing them to adjust to the newfound darkness. She felt cold, extremely cold, and knew if she wasn't able to do something soon, there would be no reason for doing anything. Her body acting on instinct alone, she picked herself up out of the water. Her hooves, having lost their boots in the conflagration, found secure purchase on the pebbles beneath her. She swayed slightly as she stood, her body beginning to shiver. A gust of wind picked up, blowing over her now-exposed body and heightening the chills brought to her skin through her damp pelt.
The current, still fast but now nearly harmless due to the decreased depth of water, ran over her hooves as she stood. Her vision centered herself, the dim shapes before her finally swimming back into focus, and she became dimly aware that the shoreline lay but a f

If it were even habitable, it would likely be chaotic and quite unpleasant. But thanks to your daughter and her friends, this is not the case. This is how I first came to know Applejack. The walk along the road into town was long and cold. Newly-fallen snow crunched beneath Applejack's boot-clad hooves as she trotted along the path. Each breath she took condensed into heavy clouds of vapor as it rolled from her mouth. The white-clad branches of each barren tree passed by her on either side as she made her way down the long, winding, lonely path. She gazed skyward, sweeping her vision across the low, unbroken ceiling of cloud that shrouded the wintery world around her in darkness. The only light she could see came from the old lantern she grasped in her mouth. The snow lying on the path before her sparkled as the beams of light shifted from side to side in time with the gentle swaying of the hanging lantern.
A sudden breeze blew through the narrow confines of the tree-lined road. Applejack felt the freezing air lift at her mane and chill her skin as it rolled over her. She stopped, setting down her source of light to grasp at the sca

Applejack blinked her eyes open to find them confronted with darkness again. Around her, nothing was visible except for her own body. She picked herself up onto her hooves, noting with some worry that there seemed to be nothing but more darkness beneath her. Taking a few steps, she realized that the aura of light was following her once again. And that she seemed to be walking on nothing. Her mind automatically registered that this seemed to be the same strange dark place she had been in earlier; that everything around her was probably a figment of her own imagination, but such complex thoughts ended abruptly with the intrusion of a familiar voice, echoing from somewhere behind her.
"Honey, Ah'm so proud of you." Applejack whipped around and found herself face to face with the smiling image of her mother again. Sweet Apple grinned at the perplexed look on her daughter's face before she embraced her. "You came back. You came back and Ah couldn't be ha

Sunlight shone through the chilled glass of the window panes in the nursery, casting beams of bright light onto the surfaces of the newly-constructed room and its occupants. The aura of cool blue surrounding and filling the nursery created a calming atmosphere for the room's sole conscious occupant accenting her shining blue eyes as she relaxed. Her gaze fell across the room upon the three cribs set near the far wall. Each one was occupied by a sleeping foal, each of their small chests rising and falling in the slow, rhythmic pattern of a deep, unstrained sleep.

A stiff, cold wind whipped its way across the rolling hills and fields and through the groups of snow-covered trees, swaying heavily-laden branches and stirring the glistening piles of white snow as it blew. Many latent snowflakes enjoyed a short, triumphant return to the late-morning sky as they were borne upward on each gust, twirling and sparkling in the sun's brilliant morning light as they soared above grove and plain, only to come drifting lazily back down to earth when the wind died back down. This process repeated itself innumerable times on the crisp winter morning. Despite the sun, it was a cold morning, a condition the biting wind did nothing to remedy, as the air retained its chilly quality even as the time advanced closer to midday. The sun's light, however, still managed to create a cheery scene as its rays shown down upon the countryside, sending the rolling dunes of pure white ablaze with countless, tiny, glittering reflections.

Chapter 2: One Tree Hill
The long school day was finally drawing to a close for all the students in Cheerilee's class. All the ponies (and Spike) went outside and began to chat amongst themselves before leaving. Spike and the Cutie Mark Crusaders were talking and laughing as among themselves as two prissy fillies showed themselves.
"Well, well, it looks like the blank flanks got themselves a pet," one of them said.
The four turned to see two ponies, one pink and the other gray. It was Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.
"Oh dear, not them," Sweetie Belle thought aloud.
"Don't you two have somepony else to annoy?" Scootaloo had a large amount of distaste in her voice.
"Nope, just your's. Aren't you lucky?" Silver Spoon said with a hint of sass in her voice.
"So, is this dragon belong to you girls or did you have to steal him?" Diamond Tiara trotted up to Spike, looking at him with interest. Spike gave her an odd look as he was

Chapter 1: When I Grow Up
It was a bright morning in Ponyville. With Celestia’s sun peeking through the window, sunlight brushed across a yellow pony’s face. Her face squinted and stirred as she woke up. Opening and rubbing her eyes, a smile appeared on her face. Using her hooves to push her red mane back and behind her head, she then hopped down from her bed. She quickly tied her pink bow in her mane and made her way downstairs. In the kitchen, her family welcomed her.
The elderly green pony spoke “Well, good morning there, birthday filly!”
“Yeah, happy birthday, Applebloom!” her sister also commented.
Applebloom smiled brightly, “Hehe, thanks, Granny Smith and Applejack!”
“How does it feel ta be seventeen?” her brother Big Mac asked, chewing on an apple.

Chapter 5: You
Celestia's sun shined down upon Ponyville. It was a warm and pleasant day for all the ponies that were out and about. One blue pegasus, however, was a bit uneasy as she flew towards the library. Rainbow Dash, who convinced herself the night before to follow her friend's advice about being forward with her feelings, was in a panicky state. She couldn't help but feel nervous. Dash never had to tell anypony how she felt about them, and most of the time she didn't feel a need to. But now, she was given the task to tell Spike how she felt about him.
'Coming on, Rainbow Dash! You can do this. I mean, its just Spike, right? What's the worst that can happen? He's a little shrimp and it's no big deal if he finds it weird, right?' the pegasus repeatedly tried to calm herself, but to no avail. She didn't have enough time to as she arrived at the library's front door. Taking a deep breath, she knocked at the do

The next day, Rarity was working in her shop for the entire day. She had a few orders to catch back up on due to her making the costumes for the plays. The unicorn worked well throughout the day without a single problem. Humming happily to herself as she worked, she was interrupted by a knock at the door as the workday was drawing to a close.
"Ah, that must be her now," Rarity spoke to herself as she trotted down the stairs to open the door. The front door was opened to a light blue pegasus pony with a colorful mane, "Hello there, Rainbow Dash! Do come on in, dahling."
"Thanks, Rarity. So ya need me watch over Sweetie Belle for the evening?" Dash asked as she entered the Carousel Boutique.
Rarity nodded, "Yes, I have something to take care of tonight."
Rainbow Dash was puzzled, "What do ya need to do?"
"Oh, well," Rarity began, "tonight I'm treating Spike to dinner."

Chapter 1: A Horse With No Name
It was a warm afternoon at Sweet Apple Acres. While most of the ponies on the farm finished their work up in the early afternoon, there was one orange mare that was still pulling more than her fair share of work on the farm. Applejack knew that she had already did more than enough work on the farm for one day, but she figured that she should start on the next day's work since she was already in her working groove.
As the mare worked in sun, she found that she bit off more of the apple than she could chew. It wasn't the first time, and anypony would bet that it wouldn't be the last. She still had one last grove of trees that needed to be bucked and barreled, but she noticed that her body was losing the vigor that she had when she started her project.
"Whew, maybe ah should think things through next time," Applejack said to her self as she trotted into the groove with the cart for the apples

Chapter 4: Call And Answer
The white unicorn froze at Spike's question. Her mind was trying to form an answer as quickly as possible, but nothing was coming to her. Tripping over her words, Rarity mumbled something that was almost impossible to understand.
"What was that?" Spike asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Well," Rarity started, "I .uh .well ." The unicorn looked at the purple dragon, whose eyes gave a hopeful look to her, "I .honestly don't know, dear."
Spike raised an eyebrow, "Huh?"
Rarity sighed, "About this being a date, I don't know, Spike." The tone of her voice was a bit depressed, knowing she gave an answer that Spike did not want to hear.
"I .don't follow ." Spike admitted to being confused.
Rarity looked upward to the partly clouded night sky. A few stars were visible and the waxing moon of Luna's was hiding behind a cloud. "Well, that's just it, I don't know if this is a date. I

"I'm hurrin'!" the purple dragon shouted back with a hint of anxiety in his voice, "You try putting clothing on with small wings, then we'll talk!" Spike was trying to put a black jacket on, but his newly grown wings made Spike look like he had a hunchback with the coat on.
"Never mind about the coat, Spike, it won't get cold tonight," the purple mare informed him as she walked up the stairs to see her assistant struggle with the article of clothing. She used her magic to pull the jacket away from Spike, "Besides, you haven't been able to wear that coat for a while and since you are in the middle of your growth-spurt, you are going to grow more."
"Ugh, more than just pesky wings?" Spike looked at himself in a nearby mirror, moving the wings on his back slowly.

Chapter 2: Limelight
Saturday morning arrived and Ponyville was lively and active as Celestia's sun rose over the land. Many ponies were hard at work to prep for the busy day. There were a number of ponies setting up different booths for activities for anypony who wished to try their luck at winning various prizes. There were other ponies that were cooking various tasty treats, which led to the air being filled with the air of the aroma of the food.
At the Carousel Boutique, Rarity was prepping herself for the day. Using her magic, she placed all of the costumes that she and Spike had made into a truck neatly.
"There, all neat and organized!" Rarity thought aloud. She was finally relieved to have the outfits neatly organized and ready to deliver to the stage.
Using her magic again, she trotted out of her home with the case. Passing all of the vendors who were prepping for the day, an idea entered the unicorn's mind. She decided t

Applejack continued to watch the clouds roll by in the sky. With a heavy sigh, the orange pony's stare into the blue sky was accompanied with thoughts about Spike. She couldn't help but think about him.

Chapter 4: You May Be Right
The next morning, Rainbow Dash woke up at her home in Cloudsdale. She dragged herself to the window of her room to find that Celestia's sun was high in the sky, meaning it was the afternoon. Scratching her head and unkempt mane with one of her hooves, she trotted to the restroom so she could have a quick shower. Her face was one that lacked apparent emotion. Inside of her head, Dash was still asking herself the question she could not answer the night before. Did she really have a crush on Spike?
She thought about it more as she showered, 'What is with me? I mean, this is Spike, we are talking about. The egghead's little assistant. Sure he's cute in his own weird way, but he's not really that great .is he?' Rainbow was unable to answer her own question. With a frustrated grunt, she turned the water off and stepped out to dry herself off, 'I need something sweet to calm me down'
