ok, before you do anything, you must know Papercraft is easier as it looks and it's, like all the other art, a learning by doing thing.
As more as you build, as more experience you will get.
But i must also say, sometimes you will stuck, sometimes you will despair and sometimes (hope not) you will fail.

That's why i wanna give you a good start into this great artisan craft art.
By the way, this is only my way to do this.
Try some other technics and you will find your own best way :)

NOT REALLY RULES:
:bulletgreen: have fun during the build
:bulletgreen: if you are not in the mood ore you are stressed, stop it
:bulletgreen: it is just paper, so if you made a mistake, even it hurts, throw the pieces away and build it again
:bulletgreen: make brakes
:bulletgreen: take your time and have patience, quality instead of quantity
:bulletgreen: think before you do something
:bulletgreen: don't be afraid of tiny ore complicated pieces
:bulletgreen: quite every model is different
:bulletgreen: paper is more stable as you may think
:bulletgreen: did i say that the build should make fun :D

special rule for smoker :smoking:
:bulletgreen: put ashtray and cigarettes away from that place where you build ;P

PAPER:
don't worry, no special paper needet, but you should use paper with 80gsm (gramms square meter) and upwards

TOOLS:
i got a few tools, that i use the most time.
That don't mean that you MUST have this tools too.
I repeat, it's only my way.

PROGRAMS:
sometimes you will need a special programm to open the model or rather print the model.
That programm is called "Pepakura Viewer" which you can download here

It's also very helpful when you stuck ore just to view, which part is where.

P.S.
this programm is only to view the models, not to create some.
Not even the Designer can "create" models
it just convert existing 3d meshes into printable sheets.
but that's an other storie :)

but enough of talking, let's start with image one :aww:

the model that i used for this tutorial is "Blaziken" which you can download here

~^~^~ UPDATE ~^~^~

At the request of PitchblackDragon, I have added the Railway Spikes to this collection. They are technically untested, but they're pretty simple, I doubt there will be a problem.

EDIT: Increased the scale a smidge (Oblivion now 45.4 inches and Oathkeeper now 37.7 inches tip to pommel----which is what they would be irl if Riku was 5ft6'......I think.), made progress on Oblivion, and most importantly added two PDFs of the finished Oathkeeper template. :D

PS: I only get to use a computer about twice a week now, so if you're waiting for a request from me, sorry they're all taking so long. :(

Oathkeeper is completely done...... I've sorted Oblivion's parts, but haven't tried to put them together at all yet. I've already made an Oblivion template before, as part of my Deep Dive Riku Pack. So, download that too if you want it before I update this.

You can thank Blood Stain Child for getting me hyper enough to finish this much by today instead of NEXT Friday. In fact, I think I gained a level in Papercrafting. Pepakura Designer has this infuriating glitch that I've finally figured out how to work around, which means I should get more templates done quicker. Such as my armors. :shakefist:

ABOUT THIS MODEL: I found a Roxas model in KH2 that had both Oblivion and Oathkeeper attached to it. Theoretically, that should mean that these keyblades are proportionate to each other as they appeared in the game------Oathkeeper really IS that much smaller. The reason for this is because of the 400-year-old sword style that Roxas uses, in which a short katana is wielded in the left hand while a normal long katana is wielded in the right. (Regardless of weather or not the swordsman is lefthanded.)

I've been nagging my sensei for years to teach me more of that style. I freaking love it! :squee:

EDIT 10.10.12:
Added PDFs and my signature ink-efficient texture edits, as well as increased the scale from 42'' to 44.5'' long. As I've made more keyblade templates, I'm getting a better idea of how big they're really supposed to be. :)

Thank you all who have downloaded this, and my other templates as well. :D You've really encouraged me at a time when I especially needed encouragement.

EDIT: ADDED A PDO FOR THE KEYCHAIN!!!! I gotta say, I did not expect this to be so popular, otherwise I would have originally submitted both together. As of this moment, 120 downloads since yesterday afternoon??!!!!! WT FLYING FRUITCAKE!!?!??!!! :noes: :squee::squee::squee:

Btw, here is a pic of the one I built: [link] :la:
******************************

HERE YOU HAVE IT!! :faint:

I spent hours and hours and hours trying to figure out how to manifold-iffy this 3D model....(my noobishness rears its ugly head!)....only to give up and then spend hours and hours and more hours MANUALLY ALIGNING THE INDIVIDUAL POLYGON FACES ON THE PRINT TEMPLATE! If you zoom in really, really close in Pepakura Viewer, you'll see what I mean.

The 3D preview is glitchy, but the template itself should work fine as long as you *mostly* ignore the Edge ID numbers and the mountain/valley nature of the dotted fold lines; for some reason, half of all the faces were inside out. That's another thing I spent hours trying to learn how to fix....

Anyways, I've wanted this keyblade long time. Me thinks it is the best looking one since Oblivion and Oathkeeper. I dun like the cluttered cartoonish ones, which account for most. I like the elegant, sober ones. Is that how you say...? :P

The length is based on the wooden swords I train with ([link] ) which are 40 inches / our steel practice swords which are 37-40 inches tip to pommel / bamboo shinai which are 45. I keep seeing keyblades that look too small to be screen-accurate, and I think the reason is that people are making them out of 36-inch wooden dowels. 36 is WAY too short for an anime sword....

....Don't. even. say it.... :evileye:

A request that fortunately turned out not to have any of those messy problems which keyblades tend to.... :happybounce:

Specifically, I got this from a high-resolution (cutscene) model of Axel ripped out of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix.

As for how to properly size this papercraft.... Compared to the model of Axel that it was a part of, when you hold this weapon in the center, the tips of the longest spikes should come up even with your elbow. Hold a yardstick or meterstick against your forearm if precision really matters to you and you want to be 100% sure before you print it out.

Enjoy! :D

(I really need to do a drawing of myself tucking motivation under my arm like a football and running for my life........that describes how I work only too well.) :XD:

Recently i modeled a human head for a commision (that i'll show you in two months) and yesterday i woke up with this idea, "¿why not to model a Tony Stark mask?, ¿Wouldn't it be a great gift for RDJ and IRONMAN fans?", well voala, here it is, enjoy it!.

You can find all the files at [link] including blender, PaintDot Net, LOOXIS and PDF versions.

Right now i don't have time to build it, so don't expect any photo of it until November.

Warming up for Avengers' movie here's my Mjolnir model.

You can download this papercraft (and its source files) from [link]

Almost all parts fit in one page, only the handle and the support parts are two-page parts, use alignment lines to cut, align and join the pieces before building this parts.

Once you build all the parts, use the support part to join the head to the handle and also to align the top part over the head. Check the schematic included in the last page for further reference.

Enjoy!

Finally here's the long awaited ScannerJOE's version of the Daft Punk Thomas' helmet.

The file is at [link] it includes pepakura, blender, and manual files.

This is not like any other papercraft as it introduces my new technique to build spheric surfaces using thick cardboard (around 2mm), WITHOUT USING MACHE.

This is the one shown at [link] and [link]

Enjoy it!

This is made for fun and those who remember the good old days of getting these for Christmas in the 1980's. This can be made and used to place under a small Xmas Tree for a little old school Diorama of an 1980's style Xmas. hehe ;) This is part of a series of cubees i have made for Christmas.

I adjusted the Cubeecraft / Papercraft idea to make mini-scale version of this old Jefire toy box from 'Transformers' From Hasbro. OK I know its not exactly the same as the 'Real' version. This is made just for fun to the good old days! Here is a photo of some of the other Mini Old toy boxes i have done to see what they would look like when put together [link]

And some more of these Old School Toy boxes can be found here [link]

Also there are some more of my Christmas Cubees (including Snowmen, Santa, The Grinch, Gingerbread men) can be found here [link]

This is the tutorial I put together for the Six Intersecting Stars (also known as Modular 20 in my gallery). I apologize if any of the steps are a bit confusing, but I don't really knwo how to explain this very well. a lot of trial and error on your part will be required. A LOT! On the other hand, at least you have refferance pictures. I didn't. anyhow, hav fun with it!

(Also, I really don't care about typoes. Let it go. If you are goign to critique it, then go ahead and mention them.)

Crease pattern for the module: [link] (I didn't invent it. I'm only explaining how to do it!)

This is the crane that glides like a paper airplane. It is the most difficult of the three since the squash fold is not a straight...asymmetrical?...one. If it doesn't work for you then just ask me and I'll see where your problem is.

Ok, I gave it a shot. This is my first tutorial, and it is the first model I really memorized. The flapping crane. This will be followed by the other two when have a chance to sit down with photoshop some more, so for now just be patient and have fun with this one.

This is also the first set of pictures took with my new camera, so I'm sorry if the pictures are all a bit fuzzy. Still learning the settings. Finally found the macro feature towards the end, but I wasn't about to reatake all the shots. Call me lazy if you want.

And have I mentioned that I'm not really much good with photoshop?

If any of the steps are unclear just tell me and I'll try to explain further. Usually I don't explain with writing, but by showing in person, so this was a hell of an excercise for me.

if for some reason it doesn't want to show a thumbnail: the picture is there, just fullview it.

So here it is, my first trully non .pdo release. As i promised, i shall share the template! Let me know if you encounter any problem, just PrntScr the problematic area and sketch over it for flaws, and show me. I'll take the repair job ASAP.

This project is a colaboration between me, Reza Ilyasa and Tomas Overbai.
Samurai Bot as seen in Ichido comic book series.

Edit: a bit trouble, deviantArt doesn't allow me to post .rar file under the artisan craft-papercraft category, so i'll submit it as 3D model instead.

If you are'nt sure how it's going to look like when it's done, see here: loone-wolf.deviantart.com/art/…
That will give you the preview of what you are going to build. Good luck and have fun! :)

I decide to make a papercraft of my Indricotherium character, and a really large one too. He's 23" tall and 25" long. Perhaps if I get more space, I will remake him even bigger than this. I have him available for download if you have photoshop, .rar opening software, and a desire to build him too. Hyaenodon not included.

The diffictlty rating is 6/10. Overall, I found him to be a fun challenge, especially for those who have been building papercrafts a long time. The hardest part is dealing with his size and the fact that this requires tremendous amounts of ink.

This is the first papercraft I have that was completely designed in every way by me. It will not be the last.

Here is a papercraft I created of my nasty, battle-scarred, one-eyed Hyaenodon character. This requires photoshop and rar-opening software to make. Also, this is quite difficult, probably being a 9/10. The reason why is this model was never really meant to be a papercraft, and she is intended to be small to be in scale with the other prehistoric critters. You can make this easier by making her an H. Gigas instead of an H. Horridus (increasing the papercraft size).

Well, that's my name for him anyway.  This is a papercraft I fully created on Blender (meaning this model was not modified from anything else) of As Nodt's most monstrous form.  It's over two feet tall and was intended to be very large but can be printed out smaller if desired.

You can build your own by downloading it here on this page.  It requires Photoshop and .rar opening software to build.  It's easier than it looks to make, but will need to be stuffed or reinforced if you want a large-sized As Nodt.

This character is a a copyright of Bleach.
