+ Fixed two strings regarding the Chaotica integration. They were always english. The language files have been adjusted accordingly.
+ Fixed the "dot"-bug with the waves2-, noise- and crop-variations (and possibly more) occuring when you use multithreaded rendering. The origin was a structural misconception with the opacity handling. It now works smooth & fine! No corrupted renders in my own tests. If you have some after this release, please report!

I noticed that some of you wanted to answer "both" but that was not the questionThe results were kind of equal. 52% of you are using an installer, the rest is using the ZIP-package. So my conclusion here is that the installer needs to come back.
And it will.
However, plugins will not be installed on your system with the installer anymore. That out of three reasons:
+ Apophysis 7x64 doesn't support them
+ The plugin path is customizable
+ The amount plugins being integrated in the installer before is now integrated in Apophysis itself
Now you need to give me some time to get the installer creation software back up and then I'll compose an installer for you

You kept reporting problems which I of course want to straighten out. This time, mostly about the newly introduced curves feature. I'm pushing updates on a daily basis - when possible - until they are kind of sorted out. At least the critical ones. Here is hotfix #4!
+ Changed color curves feature to use regular cubic béziér splines. They are weighted internally still but you can't change it from the GUI (which is not really necessary anyway...) ... it's kind of a hack, though, to bring you back the original coloring (not so vibrant and glary) but keep the possibility to adjust the color curves. I want to keep the weights - this is why I didn't remove them but it gives me a bit of time to fixing the maths!
+ Moved the curves window into the adjust window
+ Fixed the plugin loader code AGAIN to have the original list item coloring in the 32 bit version (white for basic built-in, blue for bu

+ Fixed plugin recognition routines. Variations, which were already built-in were loaded anyway which lead to an "Access Violation" storm in the editor. Thanks again ~morphapoph for tracking the origin of the problem in such a masterful way!
The color curves dialog is very simple and straight forward. Works like the one in Photoshop. Or Chaotica. Or GIMP...and it's not perfect. It's a new feature and maybe a bit bugged. But we'll see how much better it gets over time

A few common Apo7X15C problems and their fixesI get an error about Apophysis7X.rand and/or Apophysis.undo when I start ApophysisA few common Apo7X15C problems and their fixes in Personal More Like This
It's a Vista/7-issue which spawned after using Delphi XE2 as the main compiler (since 15C) You have multiple possibilities:
1. Right click the Apophysis shortcut or EXE-file and select "Properties". Go to the "Compatibility" tab and check "Run as administrator". Try again.
2. Copy your Apophysis folder to the desktop (or "My Documents") and try running it from that location.
3. Go to the control panel and disable UAC ("User account control")
A permanent fix is on the way.
I get a crap ton of access violations when I open Apophysis and/or the Editor window
My assumption is that there is an incompatibility in your settings. Reset them the following way:
1. Exit Apo, hold the Windows-Key and hit "R" on your keyboard. Enter "regedit" and hit return.
2. On the left side, browse to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software" and find the folder "Apophysis 7X".
3. Right click that folder and click "Delete".

I was using Delphi XE2 to compile all this. It's the first and only Delphi compiler with 64 bit support. Now, I realized I had to upgrade the TMS Scripter Studio component which enables scripting for you guys (I was using the ancient version I purchased for Delphi 7 yeaaaars back) Problem: I don't have the €€€ for it (EUR 95) and I have to rely on crowd funding to bring you scripting in Apophysis 7x15C (32 and 64 bit)
I already got rid of a few other components (design-time XMLScanner for example) but unfortunately, the TMS is not really replaceable. And it's expensive. I don't want to cut out scripting. I already had to take out the EXIF-writing from the render window but I think there is only one person who really uses that...it's more a decorative thing - you won't miss it. Scripting, however is essential, I would guess. Sucks that it's been built on top of a commercial component in the first days of Apophysis!

The last 5 shared fractals are shown to everyone in the ticker on the left side of the main page. All other fractals can be seen by anyone who has the corresponding link.
This means: even if your share is too old to be in the ticker - it is still public because somebody else might alread

This is optional but useful if you want to assist people in properly crediting you if they decide to tweak your work. If you paste fractal parameters which already have been shared using this application into the box, it will "recycle" the link being created before and also maintain the correct author tag.

I had started to create an alternative external renderer (specialized to render movies more quickly) in the meantime. This release is something like an "intermediate release". It has lots of internal optimizations, many new plugins to play with and some bugs fixed. But the new renderer is not yet included because this would have been just to much work in this time period.

Fantastic! Jesse made a new masterpiece of software with many new options and formulas, much more enjoyable work with DIFS now colorable! And that iter-fog! A must have!!!
To see colored difs you must enable Color 2 on choice then check "Orbit trap" on coloring tab. Then recalc.
Some formulas of mine are not updated, I will upload more soon!

She's such a wonderful lady and has given so much to us and I'm

I've been trying to think of some way to ease her pain and show her
how much she has meant to us! I'm not coming up with much! The
only thing I can think of is to do some mega features of some of her
beautiful work! Near as I can tell, she could easily have had a DD
every single day with the amazing fractals she's created and shared
with all of us!

What the heck is going on!!!!!!
Then in the wee hours this morning I was doing my weekly Google
to see where my images are going and found one in a forum so I
hopped on over there to check it out!! A guy had posted one of mine
and told the other that I do so many and gave the address here! The
other fellow came and checked it out and replied how much he liked
them and that I had an RSS feed from DA!!!!! SO.... I decided to check
it out and ...guess what!!! DA is sending our images all over the world
for folks to see and steal thru RSS feeds!! Now they can steal our work
without even having to come to DA or our pages!!!!
Now it makes perfect sense why DA favor

Although the tutorials are fantastic and can be found for almost any program an artist could use, it's not the best! Even though it's the reason I found DA!!
The gradient packs while so very nice and filled with all the gradients anyone could ever hope to use still isn't the best resource I've found on DA!
The parameter packs while filled with some of the best fractals for tweaking are fantastic and most new fractal artists would be lost without them, they aren't the best resource either!!
The plug-ins make life so very nice for those who do this on a daily basis and give us something different to explore and experiment with, but alas it's not the greatest resource either!!
The scripts also make tweaking and exploring new things very nice and give us a quick and easy way to the start of another tweaking expedition!! But again, it's not the best either!!!

Can't really tell ya what it was, first they said heart attack, then not, then it was, then
it wasn't again!! lol So obviously they just didn't know!! (Which is even more scary then
the heart attack!)!!
I went to bed the other morning and had some pretty intense pain in my chest, thru my
shoulder and down my left arm. It had happened last week also but taking an aspirin seemed
to fix the problem. This time it was very intense and I took some Nitro that I have to keep
handy at all times. The pain disappeared once the Nitro went to work but came back even
stronger after 15 minutes! I figured I was in trouble.
I hopped in the Jeep and took off for a hospital where I had done some cardiac rehab in
the past. They took real good care of me and did their best to figure out what was
going on but never did find the c

I've decided ...I haven't posted much the last few days! With all the crap going on here at DA with the thefts and the group wanting DA to fix the worlds problems I came very close to deleting all my work and leaving DA!!!I've decided ... in Personal More Like This
I spent many long hours chasing down stolen art and informing DA artists of the theft and the location, I had others telling me I'm not doing enough!!
I thought long and hard and refused to upload anything until I decided what to do! I finally decided!!
The biggest reason I do fractal art and post it is I'd like to be remembered by someone after I leave this world!! I never married!! I have no kids, and no reason for anyone at all to remember me!!

I know I'm still a little behind with messages and deviations....and I thought I could finally keep up once I finished with my school, but it seems like almost everyday something new comes up that I have to do and in the evening I'm too tired so I prefere to watch a movie and log on here only to check the groups I'm a contributor at and maybe answer to some comments. I've also started to go to the gym
Yesterday I took a short, one-day trip near the Danube. I was once again amazed by how wonderful it was. The road wasn't so good when we returned, but it was worth it. Maybe I will upload some photos

Electric Train
A few days after Christmas, a mother was working in the kitchen listening to her young son playing with his new electric train in the living room. She heard the train stop and her son said, "All of you sons of bitches who want off, get the hell off now, cause this is the last stop!
