Some models were having problems to import with the addition of the custom normals. This update should fix that problem.
Also custom normals Import and Export is now optional (I should have done this from the beginning)

Improved performance.Improved compatibility with XPS/XNALara Mesh Versions.Mod Protection. When exporting a Mesh you have the option to protect the mesh (only applies to binary meshes). When you try to import a protected mesh the addon will show a message in the blender console indicating that the mesh is protected. And will not import the model.
Better Blender internal Materials. Import and you have a model that looks just like in XPS! (well... almost). Don't know how to reproduce the XPS reflections, and the micro bumps masks. First thing is the new XPS Toolshelf. It only appears in object mode and the available options depend on the current selected objects.
You can import from the file menu or use the toolshelf for quicker access. Also from the XPS toolshlef you can change the view mode to GLSL, Shadeless materials and reset to normal.
Importing to Blender
When importing Xnalara/XPS models bones that don't affect the mesh will be moved to the layer 2 of the armature.
Pose bones will be colored according to Bone Groups and affected meshes. To import a pose, just make selection that includes the armature and import the pose. The selection can include other objects (meshes, lamps, etc.) but the pose will be applied only to the first armature within the s

Bone Rename to Blender Convention and I/O for animations!!
(Quick edit: added the button to reconstruct the original XPS bone name)
Bone Rename to Blender Convention
This new button XPS to Blender renames all the bones in the active armature to the Blender bone name convention.
Blender needs the bone names to follow certain naming convention for some functionalities. In this case the words .L and .R must be at the end of the name. If this words are in any other part of the name Blender can't identify them.
So this button simple cuts the word left and right from the name, reaplaces them with the place holder word *side* and adds the appropiate side indicator at the end.
The button Blender to XPS reconstrucs the original XPS bone name. It does so removing from the end the words .L and .R and replacing the placeholder *side* with words left or right
I/O for ani

A New Wind Lifts Storytelling
First imagined as a bedtime tale for his son by Kenneth Grahame in 1908, The Wind in the Willows has remained in the top twenty children’s stories ever since. But things have been getting weird out in the Willows, as the new comic on deviantART, Weirding Willows, will attest to.
Badger, Mole, Ratty and Mr. Toad are back… but they’re joined by Alice, Frankenstein’s Monster, Mowgli, The White Rabbit, Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny as they defend the world from the Wicked Witch of the West, Doctor Moreau, the Mad Hatter, Mister Hyde and the Queen of Hearts (not to mention the flying nightmare monkeys from Wizard of Oz.)

There is no cosmic law that states artists must suffer many long years and demeaning day-jobs before a window of opportunity cracks open just enough to hop on through.
Fellow deviant Brian Kesinger is a case in point.
His first “day-job” in 1996—he was hired straight out of his senior year of high school—was drawing Tarzan for Disney.
Brian stayed at Disney and he considers every day there a part of his ongoing education as an artist. He most recent

Requests can be made, within reason, for certain scenes to be rendered (a scene from a piece of fan-fiction, for example) and will be completely free. However, the models themselves will not be uploaded in any format. Requests for any model from the game to be rendered in any pose from either game will be completed as soon as possible, bearing in mind that human heads can't be done.
Troodon80 - As the author of the reference sheets, all I can do is hope that they are at least somewhat useful to someone; whether that be to make a costume, a model prop, a figurine, or drawing some fan art. So far, the list contains over a hundred reference sheets and it's still unfinished.
Character Feature: Shyla ShepardThe seemingly indomitable Shyla Shepard has lived a harsh and tragic past. After losing her family at sixteen to a bloody Batarian pirate attack on an Alliance colony, the young fighter joined the Alliance military only to lose her entire squad in a deadly thresher maw attack. In the years since, these early scars have forged a new identity out of the shattered ruins of the child whose family died on Mindoir. Known for her “tough but fair” approach, Shepard’s fight against the geth incursion broke new grounds for humanity when she became the first human Spectre on the galactic Council’s elite forces. But recent rumors have put in question Shepard’s loyalty to the Alliance forces. Our investigator setup an exclusive interview to delve into the truth behind the legend.Character Feature: Shyla Shepard in Personal More Like This

Custom Breaking Bad FiguresCustom Breaking Bad Figures in Personal More Like This
Last year I sculpted up a few portraits of Bryan Cranston as Walter White from my favorite show "Breaking Bad". I was finally able to put the finishing touches on 3 custom figures of Walt, all of which were given to the creators of the show this past week.
It's been a helluva lot of fun, and a tremendous thrill to get to meet the artists behind this terrific show that has been so inspiring to me. Kinder people you will not meet!
So here's a look at the finished custom figures. These were pieced together from various sources, using Hot Toys bodies, and clothes I found on ebay and then altered. The heads were all painted by some talented friends of mine, and they really brought Walt to life. It's been a lot of work to try and piece these together in my free time, but I really enjoyed doing it.
ps- A random winner was chosen from my last giveaway. I'll do another giveaway in the coming months, I'm sure. thanks!

What does 'Character Design' mean?
The character design is the process which comes after the characterisation and consists in defining the character through his/her physical appearance.
We need to consider a character as a little fictional creature, human or not, that aims to please its creator and the public as well.
While the basic characterization of this fictional creature (his tastes, his fears, his behaviors) may take a little mental effort, as it is a sort of list of emotions, facts and feelings that come and go in the life of a character, the process of visual realization of this creature may not be as simple. That's why many writers and characters creators prefer to rely on experienced hands.
Also many of the mental aspects of the character are not possible to gain by using 'static' visual medium. For 'static' I mean all the illustrations and drawings unable to tell a
