Since a few days, there's a lot of mist every morning, as often in this period of the year. The light is very good now we are in autumn, and creates huge sunrays through the morning mist... a very magic and peaceful atmosphere, I really enjoy these mornings.
As often happens with nature photography great light is coupled with foul weather. This scene was a calm and relaxing prelude to the oncoming storm that blew up and over this exposed ridge. To hear more about that read the story with this photo: [link]

This shot was taken just before our penultimate weekend in Iceland in 2010. The whole night had been washed out with rain and most of the morning. But toward the end of the stormy weather, the sun peeked through the clouds giving rise to this rainbow which lasted for several hours as we made our way with Orvar to Jokulsarlon. This specific mountain is located in the south east of Iceland nearing the approach to Skaftafell National Park.
This was one of the last shots of a beautiful evening just outside Grundarfjordur when the weather finally began to clear. The previous 2 days had been washed out with solid rain. I used manual blending of 4 exposures and a photomatix produced image in this one. In coming weeks, I hope to present a video on Iceland flicking through every picture I took there in 2010 case people were curious!
This was a picture taken just before dawn on a memorable morning at Hanson Bay on the South coast of Kangaroo Island. The morning started off with thick fog which eventually lifted. The clouds were grey and gradually lit crimson while the sea spray and fog also lifted. All the while, shadows across the dunes were a striking feature of the foreground.
Reprocessed this shot from northern Spain 2010 to give it a more natural look. What do you think?
Photo of an overwhelming spectacle of nature in the sky on a summer day shortly before sunrise. This shot was taken in the unspoiled Picos de Europa National Park in the north of Spain. Old ferns and blossoming brooms make the picture unique.
The first sunlight reaches the Bastei Bridge and the mountain tops of the Elbe Sandstone Massif on a wonderful morning in autumn (mountains from left to right: Papenstein, Gorisch, Lilienstein, Pfaffenstein, Königstein).
A picture of the Mont Blanc, from Cheserys lake, by a cold morning of June... Calm and serenity for this well known place of French Alps. Loved the reflection of this pale morning light over the Mont Blanc, and the little "gold vein" on the rock in the foreground
