I had the great pleasure to work on Space Vagabonds - Ground Assault, chunking out rough concepts for the Federated Kingdom. :iconukitakumuki: had done some stellar work for this project also.
It was a lot of fun to work on these military concepts for a change and I will stay on board for more work and even flesh out these as final concepts at some point.

My 2nd commission done for :icongaiden1992: ~Gaiden1992.

This is the Basilisk. With a chassis slightly heavier than modern main battle tanks, it's main gun is a conventional 155mm smooth bore, but also mounts a magnetic rail accelerator at the muzzle for extra power. A coaxial and loaders machine gun along with a remote minigun turret operated by the commander offer point defense. Various smoke, intercept, and anti-personnel launchers around the vehicle offer strong countermeasures.

The Churchill. It's Ultra Autocannon 20 takes up almost one quarter of it's 65 ton weight. 2 medium lasers and a targeting computer round out this package into a serious threat to enemy mechs and armor.

Another vehicle design for the Contact book, this time a main battle tank.
Started out with a handful of concept sketches, then created a mockup in 3D which really helps with perspective and general lighting. Good old painting for the rest and better part of the time from there. I'm liking this new vehicle process :)

Towards the end of the war, improvisation was the rule rather than the exception. Their sleek wings of the ballistic interceptors had long since taken their last flight, and this left a surplus of tractor chassis. Some of these were used in the final defense of the capital, including this example. It's been fitted with an outmoded field gun and its associated fortress mount, giving a marginal degree of mobility to weapons salvaged from the bypassed coastal emplacements.

Sighting would (ideally) be done by an associated survey team, or forward observer in the case of tactical targets. In the end, the Goliath serves as more of a monument to Protectorate desperation than as an example of a useful battlefield asset. Most of the thirty or so examples completed were either destroyed by counterbattery fire, or abandoned after mechanical failure or running out of fuel.

The depicted example was abandoned and overrun in a cornfield just south of the capitol, near the Palace of the Engines. The peculiar mechanism above the barrel is for muzzle loading two-piece rocket projectiles instead of normal shells.

The D-215 is a "small missile ships" at soviet classification. May be should classified as corvette...

Chimera
Heavy tank. The turret weaponry is a 85mm cannon, the field of fire is 360'x60'. The armor is superheavy. The main goals on the battlefield - elimination of heavy enemy vehicles and strong stationary positions. The "Chimera" is half time bigger than any modern tank.

Marauder
Anti-air mobile platform. The turret is small sized, and armed with twin 15mm auto-cannons (the turret field of fire is 360' horizontaly and 80' vertically). The armor is medium, but while in combat the "marauder" mostly uses his good speed and moblility. The hover's main goal is destroying infantry squads and light aircraft units. It size can be compared to a "Hummer" military jeep.

General vehicle design concept
Hover-platforms using electro-magnetic mechanism situated in the lower part of the platform, and used to move over the terrain. Allows the vehicle to reach high speed, good control and maneuverability. Agressive and rapid-looking forms are used in the design. The pilot is deeply inside, so there is no cockpits, no observational windows and so on. The main weapon technology is gauss cannons of different calibers. Also, becouse the technology of our game world are very high, any hover is piloted by a single pilot.

Hound
light hover, armed with 10-mm cannon that haves an shooting angle of 180' horyzontaly and 40' vertically. Fast and easy to
maneuver, the Hound haves a light armor. Mainly used as a personal off-road transport traveling betwen cities. It size can be compared to a 4-seat car.

Displacement: 65,200 tons standard and 82,500 tons fully loaded
Cargo: 6,200 tons of nonessential equipment and supplies. Each enlisted crew member has a small locker for personal items and uniforms. Ships officers have more space for personal items. Most of the ships spaces are taken up by extra ammo, armor, troops, weapons, and engines.
Power System: 4 Fusion Reactors, average life span is 20 years
Market Cost: Not for Sale but costs around 1.65 billion credits to construct. If found and sold on the black market would probably cost 5 to 8 billion credits.

Speed:
Surface: 46 mph (40 knots/ 74.1 kph)
Range: Unlimited due to fusion engines (needs to refuel every 20 years and requires maintenance as well). Ship carries six months of supplies on board.

Boeing b-2 Advanced Technology Bomber

Advanced Technology Bomber

Like Monogram, Revell responded to the breakthrough success of Testors' F-19 Stealth Fighter with a "Could Be..." Stealth model of its own. Only in this case, the plane was the long-rumored B-2 Stealth Bomber.

Working from known flying wing technology and the accepted requirements of Stealth designs, the engineers at Revell concocted this smooth, low-profile, tailless bat-wing design and released it under the "Birds of Prey" moniker. Their predictions were fairly on the mark; the actual B-2 turned out to be roughly the same shape and scale as Revell's kit -- but far more angular, especially at the wings' trailing ends.

Raiders of the Lost Ark Nazi Flying Wing

The German-built Flying Wing aircraft was part of the Nazi contingent deployed to Tanis in 1936. Its experimental shape had a forward cockpit for the pilot and a tail gunner position, and some cargo space.[1]

After the Ark of the Covenant was recovered, Dietrich planned to transport the treasure back to Germany in the plane, and the plane was prepared for takeoff. However, Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood destroyed the plane in an attempt to commandeer it, killing the German Mechanic and Pilot (individual) in the process. With the plane destroyed and Jones on the loose, Dietrich and Belloq decided to move the Ark by truck from the camp instead.[1]

The Nazi Flying Wing seen in the film was not a real plane. Raiders production designer Norman Reynolds designed the plane for the film, based on historical Northrop Corporation designs and drawings by Ron Cobb of the Horten Ho-2-29. The fake plane was built by Vickers, and was painted in London at EMI Elstree Studios. In order to ship the unwieldy prop to Tunisia, it had to be disassembled and sent piecemeal before being reconstructed on location.[2]

Hasbro had also planned to release a Flying Wing for their 3 3/4" action figure line; the cancellation of the Hasbro line, however, has made the release of the toy unlikely in the foreseeable future.[source?]

After the Flying Wing was destroyed in the film in 1981, the remains of the plane sat quietly in the Tunisian desert, where parts of it was salvaged by prop collectors. In 1991, ten years after the production of Raiders Of The Lost Ark, the Flying Wing was finally bulldozed and its remains destroyed.[so

Cruise missile launcher and autocannon. Very large vehicle.

I changed the wheels once again. I like these the best so I'm sticking with them.

This model was made completely in Wings3d. Rendered in Lightwave 9.3.

Crinos Mk I

This is a commission work for Battletech Technical Readout 3063 being created by Steven Satak. [link]

It is a 3d model rendered to lines. Some other details and aspects were added in Photoshop.

This is my final commission for TRO 3063 and I have had a lot of fun working on these creations. I just wish I could have made a few mechs for the readout but I came to the party late.

Still.. it was a fun gig and it is for battletech so I am happy.
