I had the great pleasure to work on Space Vagabonds - Ground Assault, chunking out rough concepts for the Federated Kingdom. :iconukitakumuki: had done some stellar work for this project also.
It was a lot of fun to work on these military concepts for a change and I will stay on board for more work and even flesh out these as final concepts at some point.

My 2nd commission done for :icongaiden1992: ~Gaiden1992.

This is the Basilisk. With a chassis slightly heavier than modern main battle tanks, it's main gun is a conventional 155mm smooth bore, but also mounts a magnetic rail accelerator at the muzzle for extra power. A coaxial and loaders machine gun along with a remote minigun turret operated by the commander offer point defense. Various smoke, intercept, and anti-personnel launchers around the vehicle offer strong countermeasures.

The Churchill. It's Ultra Autocannon 20 takes up almost one quarter of it's 65 ton weight. 2 medium lasers and a targeting computer round out this package into a serious threat to enemy mechs and armor.

Commissioned by :iconcenturion13: ~Centurion13 for the Battletech fan made TRO 3063.

Another vehicle design for the Contact book, this time a main battle tank.
Started out with a handful of concept sketches, then created a mockup in 3D which really helps with perspective and general lighting. Good old painting for the rest and better part of the time from there. I'm liking this new vehicle process :)

For :iconbiometal79: ~biometal79

Contact designs are not for personal or commercial use, no derivative works please.

Towards the end of the war, improvisation was the rule rather than the exception. Their sleek wings of the ballistic interceptors had long since taken their last flight, and this left a surplus of tractor chassis. Some of these were used in the final defense of the capital, including this example. It's been fitted with an outmoded field gun and its associated fortress mount, giving a marginal degree of mobility to weapons salvaged from the bypassed coastal emplacements.

Sighting would (ideally) be done by an associated survey team, or forward observer in the case of tactical targets. In the end, the Goliath serves as more of a monument to Protectorate desperation than as an example of a useful battlefield asset. Most of the thirty or so examples completed were either destroyed by counterbattery fire, or abandoned after mechanical failure or running out of fuel.

The depicted example was abandoned and overrun in a cornfield just south of the capitol, near the Palace of the Engines. The peculiar mechanism above the barrel is for muzzle loading two-piece rocket projectiles instead of normal shells.

Marauder
Anti-air mobile platform. The turret is small sized, and armed with twin 15mm auto-cannons (the turret field of fire is 360' horizontaly and 80' vertically). The armor is medium, but while in combat the "marauder" mostly uses his good speed and moblility. The hover's main goal is destroying infantry squads and light aircraft units. It size can be compared to a "Hummer" military jeep.

An update to the Bjørn, the Dire Bjørn was a modification made after the shipment of the first 1,000 tanks produced by Royal Arms. Equipped with a new, highly advanced long range, turret mated Sensor paired with a new, 220mm Hybrid Rifle. In addition, the Dire Bjørn was further supplemented with a turret mounted Flèche-II air-intercept missile imported from Leon. This system greatly improved the survivability of the large tank.

A design by Lawson Aeronautics, the HDS-47 Starmaster is the alliance standard heavy dropship. Carried on everything from battlecruisers to landing ships, these massive haulers are capable of a relatively slow speed of Mach 3 and are limited to near-planet operations, with their fusion cores needed relatively regular reaction mass refueling.

THE LRV-28 Ground Operations, Reconnaissance, Intelligence, Logistics, and Light Armor Vehicle system is the Alliance's latest and greatest multi-function ground operations platform. Designed for streamlining repair, refit, and support operations for deployed Marines, GORILLA is intended to serve a number roles (as its name suggests).

The Above variant was the first unit deployed, the "Gibbon"is the general infantry support. Fitted with a 70 caliber anti-personnel chain gun, 2 UAV recon drones, 4 anti-air missiles and 4 anti-tank missiles, the Gibbon is the go to vehicle for scouting, recon, and general infantry support. Often seen patrolling the spaces of the Alliance and serving the Marines in light deployments and sustained engagements, the Gibbon has the potential to quickly become the go to vehicle/face of the Alliance Mechanized Infantry.

The Bishop-2A1, an upgraded version of the Apostle tank, preceded by the Bishop 1A7.
Things i changed include (but are not limited to) new ammoboxes in the back which holds guns and ammo for troops exiting/entering the tank, rearranged interior setup (increased detail of the interior as well), W16 engine (included as an actual detail), a smoothbore 180mm cannon instead of the 181mm rifled cannon, a newer 25mm autocannon, reduced amount of smoke grenade dishchargers, frontal visors for driver view (included as a detail).
unfortunately this model will not be availiable for download upon request as it will be in an upcoming videogame which you can find here [link].
any questions, comments, critiques are welcome, but please be nice, i'm quite sensative when it comes to my art Xp

i may make a 360 animation of this, dunno though.

things to note:
the gattling guns are capable of being autonamous, as an APS and are optionally controlled by any of the crew or operators. there is also a coaxial 7.62 rotary gun that is not visible on the underside of the gun (at least it's hard to see). the ammoboxes are also currently open, they are capable of closing while in motion. unfortunately the W16 engine does not connect to the drive sprocket thing, however the W16 is quite detailed, it even has pistons and what not.

this is the previous version of the Bishop and it is illustrated quite a bit better than this one. [link]

Germany-United States-2033

The Apostle tank's primary design purpose is to be used as a glorified MBT, since it is much heavier and larger. the Apostle tank is about 85 tons with ammunition.

It is equipped with 2x dual barrel 50. cal remote turrets, 1x 182mm barrel and one 7.62mm rotary cannon as the coaxial secondary. The rounds used in the Apostle are longer than normal, about 1.5 meters in length which allows for a greater range and penetration ability with DU KE rounds. An advanced automated reloading system allows for a quick reloading time, approximately 14 shots per minute, faster than any MBT to date. The Apostle is also capable of removing its extended barrel for CQC situations, letting its canister rounds and rotary cannon do most of the work.

The armor is a maximum of 70in. in the front and in the thinnest areas about 35in. the armor composition is respectively from outside to inside (frontal armor), 20mm tungsten+5in. of space (not included in total armor thickness), 40in. of liquidmetal (not liquid, research it), 5in. of MCN (multiwalled carbon nanotubes), 4in. of Vectran which doesn't vary in thickness throughout the whole tank (again, look it up, it's primary function is as a nuclear resistant material), and lastly 1in. of titanium as the internal plating. the armor is rated to be entirely impenetrable on the sides and front with a direct hit from a 120mm rounds. 120mm heat rounds are capable of making it 10in. through the tungsten plating in the front. It's full armor potential is classified but operators have reported direct hits from mobile gun systems at close range with little effect.

An important part of the design in the HCV was its nuclear surviveability. Tests show that it remains mobile after a hit approximately 5 miles from a 100kt nuclear detonation, and 2 miles from the point of detonation the crew would be protected from thermal and radiation effects assuming the blast force doesn't cause damage to the operators (e.g. a flying building doesnt fall on the tank or the wind blast doesn't throw it hundreds of feet in the air). after 7 miles from the point of detonation there is no significant damage to the tank from a 100kt nuclear bomb.

The HCV was the most effective vehicle deployed in combat to date. it finally forced weapons designers to start thinking outside the box, which is where the Standard Articulation Unit project came into play three decades later.

Excuse the poor quality image, i probably should have let it finish anti-alias.

Here's my latest work! this one is more of an update than a new work, but i like to consider it a new work since the whole thing is revamped so much (this is the previous APOSTLE tank [link]). If you need any explanations or you think you found something that is incorrect/misspelled please comment!

This is part of the description found on the top right corner of the image.
The Bishop-1A7 MBT is an unconventional design featuring an amalgam of the world’s best 3rd generation MBTs. It is the first tank to be succesfully constructed by two nations (Germany and Israel) supported by the multinational corporation NINECORP. However, Israel and Germany both use the Bishop as their own MBT it is also sold to a variety of countries who use it as their primary MBT. The Bishop has tackled more challenges than any tank before it; it does this by using innovative technology as well as technology taken from older tanks such as the Abrams models, the Leopard 2 models, the Merkava models, and the Challenger 2.
The technolgy adapted from the Abrams models is having heavy DU armor and a high power yet quiet engine. One of the incredible abilities the Abrams models have is not only the extremely tough DU armor but also the capability to move silently and quickly with its psuedo-jet engine. However the Bishop uses a conventional (i.e. very load) V16 engine the designers realized the importance of having this advantage and implemented sound muffling technology inside the engine compartment. The DU armor is not layered inside the frontal plating like it is in the abrams it is instead homogeneously alloyed with Rh (Rhenium) and used as the first line of defense on the armor.
Perhaps one of the biggest obstacles the designers overcame is the resistance from IEDs which borrows the design from the leopard 2 tank and various MRAP vehicles. The Bishop is able to divert the energy across the lower surface of the tank, using a similar method that the Leopard 2 does. The hydropnuematic suspension system is also borrowed from the Leopard 2 tank and the Bishop owes its offroad speed capability to that system.
The Bishop, like the Merkava uses a front engine design in addition to the rear hatch. Though the crew survivability is mostly preserved by the advanced armor (see Specifications for detail on the armor) and the V shape under the body to reduce damage from IEDs. The rear hatch allows for quick deployment of soldiers as well as a quick and easy entrance for potentially injured soldiers. However unlike the Merkava the rear hatch on the Bishop offers cover to supporting soldiers on the outside of the tank.
The only technology borrowed from the Challenger 2 tank is the rifled barrel which increases overall accuracy. The Bishop also uses a triple shot autoloader similar to the French Leclerc and Russian MBTs (see figure 4A, note the Russian tanks and the Leclerc use
a larger magazine system and do not need a loader to change out the magazine).

to get a reference for the size, it's approximately twice the volume of a merkava MBT.
