There’s something about the brilliant colors of the dying leaves of autumn that reflects the wonders and the sorrows of life. It’s as if by waking up each morning into this beautiful world of natural colors, we are being given our bittersweet reward for surviving another year on the planet. We are regaled with a brief seasonal ceremony of the turning of the leaves, nature’s gift for our eyes as a promise she will soon return after her yearly rest. And then it’s time to let winter’s grey pallor unfold over us in blankets of dark cold rain and bright brisk snows; we sleep, the autumn’s leaves having promised

Pulp Fiction by Rembrush
Masterful storytelling is about suspending disbelief.
One would think the most important element of a story being told is the events being depicted. Belief in these events, however, is a prerequisite to appreciation. Picture this: watching Anna Karenina in the theater, you’re riveted to the epic tale of doomed lovers. Your friend, a history professor with a fetish for details, laughs at random moments. After the movie, he pontificates at length on how unbelievable the movie was

It seems there is a most frightening psychological conundrum when considering the concept of demonic possession even the most remote possibility of reality upon our earthly plane is the notion that just believing it may be true could very likely be the spark needed for the Demon to discover, seek out, and ultimately inhabit its next vessel of evil: You.

EncouragementWhen I started out on DeviantArt, I used to be one of those artists that thought I could never do art properly.Encouragement in Deviant Events More Like This
I'll start saying that I spend most of my childhood getting only little encouragement.
My parents were, like many other parents, convinced that art wasn't that much of a useful skill since it's nearly impossible to earn money with -- and would've liked it if I spend my time doing something more useful instead. At school I was that pathetic kid without friends. Creative, yet very introverted. The one that gets bullied in the schoolyard. Needless to say; it was rare to find people saying something nice about me, and it was even more rare to find someone actually encouraging me.
Back then, I used to believe that I was alone. I initially signed up to DeviantArt to find people with similar interests. But it happened to change my mind along the way. When I came into contact with other artists, I came to realize that there were in fact many people just like me. People th

Yet we all do it. Either aware or unaware.
It all starts when we see an artist here whose work we like a lot.
Most of us have been there. Seeing the work of an artists that hits a soft spot in you, for whatever reason that might be.
You admire it, but at the same time you feel sad because you realize your level is still miles away from this artist, and you will probably never be able to do the same.
But despite everything, you start following this person. And you keep following him.
Because somewhere deep in your soul, you hold the believe --or rather, hope-- that when you watch it long enough, it will reveal it's tricks.
That it will inspire you in some way. And that you'll be able to do the same.
Unconsciously, we all build images of our idol.
It's human nature, I guess. We fill in all the blanks. The things that we don't know from this person.
Because an idol isn't a person anymore at that point. It has become an ico

A moment of total lack of inspiration that suddenly hits you, and leaves you unable to create. Most often the solution is to just wait. Most artblocks will solve automatically with time. But there are circumstances in which an artblock doesn't automatically disappear, or when you have deadlines to catch. on stylesimma keep this one simple....on styles in Personal More Like This
style is just how the artist feels like treating his or her world at any given time!
it is influenced by the styles of other artists the artist admires
it is an amalgamation of influences mixed with personal sensibility....
it is perpetually changing and evolving
and it is not a trademarked property
see, i personally am a mix of influences from michael turner , adam hughes, marc silvestri, alex ross a few concept artist, and my design is greatly influenced by stan winston studio
my cartoonyer style is influenced greatly by disney and don bluth with a dash of manga and a healthy dose of j scott campbell who can probably tell you a similar story about the origins of his own style
its the nature of humanity people.
we stand on each others shoulders striving for greatness. so too will i influence quite a few artists who will adapt my own approaches into their workflow.

i have seen in my life many artists who proclaimed they want to develop their skills, and kept bashing on everyone and everything on the way....and for some reason those guys never got anywhere...
here is why..
there is a value to different approaches, different styles. realism, manga , cartooney disney, my little pony, furries....don't waste your time tryint to bash any of the stuff you don't personally like
you are missing out, bigtime!
see there is a reason why that stuff is popular. and by that i mean on the visual side. so instead of flaming , trolling and bashing, try understanding the inner workings of it.
here are some specific examples
realism- it is a wonderfully complex base , reflects one's skill in capturing reality, but in it there are differences between photo referenced, real life work and no reference. ALL HAVE THEIR VALUE AND IMPORTANCE! from photos you can learn alot, gain analytic skills, develop an attention to

Examples: What would the Hobbit movie actors look like with hair and costume as described in the first chapter of The Hobbit? Or, show the Lord of the Rings actors in the Barrow Downs, Old Forest, or meeting with Ghan-Buri-Ghan, etc. Did the movie skip one of your favorite scenes? Entries should be produced especially for the contest. Tolkien-Voronwë's Admins can submit art, but are not eligible for the prize.

To me, it was very bitter and I didn't like the taste at all. But as I grew up, that bitter drink became a part of my life; from an occasional drink to become a regular beverage of the day. I guess, if you think of it, that's how life is to many of us. When something bitter happened, it left us with a bad taste, but then as we grow up, that bitterness became a part of our life even to the point where we are accustomed to it. Regardless whether that bitterness was a fear of something, a loss, life's issues, or simply crisis, they always say "Problems are there to make you better, not bitter".

I am trying to take to mind all the time zones in this, so it may sill be September 30th for some of you, but I hope you don't mind
The October Project is officially started!
First I will explain the main purpose of the project
Bullying is something that is happening everywhere, and October is supposed to be seen as national bully awareness month, but it isn't very often that people actually take bullying to thought and try to lend a hand to a stranger and help. So here's the main purpose of TOP: encouragement. As people get bullied, or feel upset in general, they tend to shift to different hobbies or pastimes in order to try to get their minds off of things. DeviantArt is one of the places people go in order to do this, but even here some in the community tend to down-talk others or start "drama trauma". This being said, one of the parts for the project is a pledge anyone can take- this is a pledge to try to encourage oth

Basically, I know at times in comparison to others, progress for whatever it is you enjoy doing may seem so slow- everyone seems so much better, and you feel as if you could never be as good as everyone else
However, just keep your head up. Keep trying and doing what you enjoy, and you will continue to improve at it. I would have never dreamed of being where I am right now art-wise back when I first joined DA, and I am still continuing to improve and I see everyone else improving, as well
However, this song points out something else- when you reach that part where you find yourself "near the top", don't forget those you are friends with and that have stuck with you the entire time I have problems with this, as I am unable to keep up with everyone anymore. So thi

Because if you can make fun of your character like this, debunking all his quirks, deficits and flaws, you will see how believable and real he actually is - or not. For example, are you unsure if you have created a Mary Sue? Try this, that'll show.
(Btw: "Brother" and "Morris" are referring to the same person; i did those between some weeks,

ALso, it's not a superior super duper delicious animation-thingie but more like a...picture-by-picture-thingie. So don't expect too much. (and yeah, i actually managed it to fuck up the credits at the ending. The song's called "Surprise Surprise", not just "Surprise". Shameful.)
Movie Talk: Pacific Rim ReviewAh, yeah, Guillermo Del Toro. To me, his name was always connected to Pan's Labyrinth, being the first Del Toro-movie i ever watched and which was indeed pretty impressive. It was later then when i realised that he also caused Hellboy and other things that would seem unlikely at first but – whatever; this guy got my interest after all and thus it was just a matter of fact that my ears would go all alert when there was news about Pacific Rim. (but before i start the babbling: why even talk about that at all? Well, because i simply love movies. And cinema. And i just watched it. And because i enjoy sharing thoughts. Duh.)Movie Talk: Pacific Rim Review in Personal More Like This
