This is a piece I created just for fun during my trip to Louisiana. My roommate had some experience with the freeware 3D software Blender and assisted me on my first steps. Creating planets and asteroids in Blender was so much easier than I thought.
I used a model by ~dmaland as a base for the space station. Thank you!
I've added a wallpaper pack which contains the following resolutions (press download to the right):
1280 x 800 | 1440 x 900 | 1680 x 1050 | 1920 x 1080 | 1920 x 1200
In my experience these are the most frequently requested resolutions, but if you need a different version feel free to comment right here.
The idea of this image was to create a typical witcher card, those you can get when you have a special time with one of the girls. The woman shown on this card is Triss Merigold, one of my favorite female characters in the game which is mainly because of her strength, majesty and inscrutable character. I think this is perfectly shown in her face expression. Very wicked.
For those who wonder what its intending to show: I tried to catch the moment when the viewer (Geralt) draws the curtain and finds her on her bed waiting for him. I wanted it to be as realistic and convincing as possible.
Ive also made a version with card border but it looks bad [link]
This is my entry into the Bring your Vision to Life Contest
Give me the red matter, before it dissipates into the blue.
Stock image is mine. Painted details.
The theme here is red vs blue, but not the normal red vs blue (Red is good and blue is evil). Red is seen as a hot, vibrant color...where everything is excited and abnormal, where as blue is seen as cool , normal and calm. So what i did is incorporate more normal elements in the red side while having "abnormal" elements in the blue. i hope you understand what im saying
"Because she dreams in digital... Because Its better than nothing Now that control is gone..."
I dream of a place that exists within my head, A place that I can only see as I lay upon my bed, My eyes tight shut as my mind prepares to sleep, A dream will come that i always hope to keep, Worlds filled with buildings that go into the sky, With super humans and their ability to fly, Technology exists beyond my wildest imagination, Where humans have learned to hold their creation, I dream of a place that exists within my head, A place that I can only see as I lay upon my bed. -Tansie
Model: Me All stock mine and lots of painted elements.
Queen Octave Reign for 8 years Her empire falls She waits for another 8 Waits for the gods call. She melts into ground The beetles of 8 Come to take her away It was her initial fate 8 Years until she rises again... -Tansie
How many beetles can you count? hahaha
She isnt dead in this! Shes feeling miserable because her empire fell again
"My dream is, before all this world falls into disaster, the seed of conscience grows within every people, healing the damaged roots of the society and bringing sense, stopping the whirl of madness and making everybody to be better people.
My dream is, someday soon, this world turns into a world in which people have a safe and fair present, and can assure a future.
I don't know if this is really a dream, but one thing is sure: if it doesn't happen, our entire universe will become a nightmare".
That's my entry for Wacom® Dreams Contest 2009. [link]
At first, I conceive this drawing with with an ecological meaning, but later I decided to go further. I tried to describe the worrying state of our society, with lots of pollution not only in the enviroment, but also in our goverments and political systems. That sad behaviour has extended to the population, and every day we have to hear about murder, suicide, terrorism and so on.
And no one do nothing. But the power is inside us, though most of people don't know.
For all that, my dream is everyone awake that lost common sense, that seed of conscience inside each of us, and change the way things happen. I'm really worried about my future, cause in some way I'm afraid of being shooted by a crazy idiot for no reason. I'm afraid of having to live over cardboard while worthless people enjoys their jacuzzis and expensive boats. I'm afraid to lose my children, when I'd have them, because a social assistant see them injured when they fall accidentally while playing in the park, and that goverment employee considers maltreat and want to take them away from me.
I'm not inventing, those are real situations, and I hope them to stop soon. So this is what I tried to explain in this...maybe you can call it...allegorical artwork.
And though I know I'm not gonna win the contest (a pity cause I really like the prizes ) I'm happy for doing this social-critique-styled theme I wanted to do long ago.
Hope you like it, thanks for support

Yep!! Another dev for the Myths&Legends contest [link]
I had to work quickly cause it ends next sunday!! It usually takes me days or even weeks to finish my drawings but with this one, this morning when I woke up it came to my mind and now it's done!! A bit rough but well, I'm satisfied
The theme is the Moirae, three goddesses of the Greek Mythology who were responsible for all being's lifes. They hang the threads of life that Clotho spins (birth), Lachesis weaves alloting the fate (lifetime) and finally Atropos cuts with her golden scissors (death).
If you notice, the expressions of each Moirae is different: Clotho is happy for bringing a new life to the world, but Lachesis suffers with the various sorrow and pain that is in every life. Atropos looks impassive, giving death without caring about age, status or personality.
And yes, Moirae don't control only human lifes but also Divine ones...
Hope you like it!! it has been hard work!!
> Sketched by pencil, painted in PS Cs8 with the Bamboo A6 tablet.
So I believe this is my final entry for this contest. I decided to start a painting with colors and not add them afterwards like I usually do... and it turns out that I work better with colors and not values XD
Anyways, this contest has been a lot of fun! I learned a lot while going through it. I was also greatly inspired by the talent and skill within this competition. There are so many amazing artists here!
Old enough to know that death and destruction are part of her job description, and young enough to enjoy it - that's Ryth.
I designed her to have a no-nonsense appearance with armored boots ('cause going to battle in slippers is really quite silly), gloves and a chestplate made from a magical star metal, runed soft leather covering arms and legs and billowing magical cloth that can be used as an invisibility cape at times of need and never gets dirty. Well and some belts to keep it all together when it Does get dirty from magic corruption.
And the sword is there for magicky ritual use, as well as a back-up plan. Never know when things need a good stab.
Corel Painter 9, Wacom Intuos 3, don't know nor want to know how many hours it took.
This is my take on a metal (specifically gothic/symphonic metal) themed skin for Sony TRiK.
The story behind it is Sun and Moon having a delightful moment of 'GIT OFF MAH IPOD' (that's what you stick in there, right?) which to us, earthlings, appears as a solar eclipse.
This was fairly challenging to paint, but I'm quite happy with the outcome. Had a blast designing their outfits and especially drawing that pseudomythological symbol up top (which doesn't show up all that well at this size, granted) which alludes to solar eclipse commonly being percieved as a dragon eating the sun.
Also found a few new (for me) bands while poking around the different subgenres of metal and trying to figure out what is what and what the stuff I like and wanted to depict is called.
Edit 15.08.2011: Refined some areas for better overall impact. A lot of minor tweaks can sometimes make a difference.
It was too late!
The Pie had been summoned, but the binding ritual had been disrupted. The remaining pieomancers scrambled as the ferocious technofairy brought its steed around for one last strike. Casting a ward that she knew would never hold, the last pieomancer felt her eyes fill with tears of remorse. Not for her own end, but for the Pie of terror that they had unleashed upon the world.
A Brief History of the Technofairy Empire
Technofairies used to be regular fairies until they successfully opened a portal between worlds and brought back an artifact - a miner's helmet.
After many decades of attempting to reverse engineer it, they succeeded, and learned to power it by attaching widgets to their wings and fluttering them real fast. The technique was later used to power a wide array of other interesting mechanisms, often adding magic into the mix.
The helmet, however, retained a spot of special importance and not only because of its historical value. Their command of light allowed the technofairies to tame the fearsome pandamoths, turning them into steeds that were quite intelligent and quick to obliterate targets marked by lightbeams.
The combination of technological prowess and swarms of critters that put Australia to shame guaranteed quick ascent to power and foundation of the Technofairy Empire. Nobody objected much as the technofairies took upon themselves the role of guardians of the lands, protecting them against invaders and, more importantly, against anyone who might take it upon themselves to open portals and try to bring through artifacts, such as miner helmets, sharp objects or giant pies.
And that's why you don't use bamboo for staves if you're into pieomancery - it attracts pandamoths and angry technofairies.
I had fun with this. I had this cute fuzzy moth wandering around my room when the announcement about the contest hit my dA inbox and one thing sort of lead to another.
I used the slice of pie stock for the decorative elements on top of the pieomancers' staves (center and lower right), the helmet for technofairy's headdress (upper center) and the panda should be obvious.
