A Gloriette is a building in a garden which is on a location raised compared with the surroundings. The architectural implementation and figure can be very different, often in the form of a pavilion more or less open after the sides or Tempietto.
The probably best known and biggest "Gloriette" is in the castle garden of castle Schönbrunn in Vienna.

The Gloriette main eye-catcher (Point de vue) of the garden and vantage point about the same was built in 1775 as the last building of the garden after plans by Johann Ferdinand Hetzendorf of high mountain as "a fame temple", at the same time. The gallery and the columns are made out of hard, white imperial stone and were as reused with the Gloriette as the bull heads and other parts.

The Gloriette than food eel and hall as well as as a breakfast room served later for emperor Franz Joseph I. Der Speisesaal it was used up to the end of the monarchy, today a café is in it, on the roof a view platform with look is over Vienna. The sculpture jewellery comes from Johann Baptist Hagenauer.

Excuse for my bad English!

The pagoda castle was built as first ones of the Nymphenburger park castles from 1716 to 1721 by architect Joseph Effner. Their name is derived from the numerous small Chinese god's figures inside which one calls pagodas. The pagoda castle is a prominent report of the China fashion in Europe of the early 18th century.

From three small rooms in the upper floor two present themselves as East Asian varnish cabinets. The black varnished Vertäfelung in the „black drawing room“ encloses Chinese paintings with flowers and birds on paper. The Chinese drawing room with Chinese wallpaper on the walls looks foreign just by the colour combination. A weird space form lends exotic trains to the rest room in spite of the decoration in "European" Régenceformen. Johann Anton Gumpp and Johann Adam Pichler were involved in the equipment of the rooms.

"Chinoiserie" is no autonomous style, but a fashion current in the baroque, after the middle of the 17th century. Chinese motives are "interpreted" by European artists and are connected by European forms.

Excuse for my bad English!

The degree work, Country Architercture department
5th of June 2010

The Mixed Use Centre is intended to fulfill the following functions: cultural and leisure, sports and wellness, retail and consumer services. The Centre is to go together with a settlement consisting of small-scale farming enterprises (“house-garden”).

The Centre is to be laid out near the villages of Olkhovka and Nazarovo, in the Moscow region, at a distance of 70 km from Moscow, at a distance of 1 km from the federal highway Don M4 and the Moscow Region 3d road ring intersection.
There are “house-gardens” in the Northern part of the site, its hothouses are facing to the South. There is a park with sports and playing grounds between the Centre and the “house-gardens”.

The Centre plan is shaped like an ellipse, it has a streamlined shape. This shape and its visual resemblance to the hills and natural grass roof covering one of parts of the Centre make the building a part of the the landscape and put it in line with perception of rural environment.

The Centre includes a concert hall, a sports hall, a swimming-pool, a library and a reading-room, premises for hobby groups and exhibitions, an internet-café, a retail area (supermarket and boutiques), public catering establishments and consumer services.

There are main functional facilities in the two upper surface levels, the underground level includes technical facilities, parking places, warehouses.
The main facilities of the Centre make up four functional parts separated by a covered recreation area. These make 4 “streets” leading to a central “square”. Each functional part consists of a hall and a semi-circle of subsidiary premises bordering the hall along its perimeter. These semi-circles form “street” fronts on two levels. In the upper level they are joined by bridges.

This project will contribute to advancing the living standards of the community, developing social infrastructure and creating a favorable environment for life, work and rest in the country. Constructing “house-gardens” around the Centre will contribute to the development of agricultural potential of rural areas.

Unfortunately, there was a wedding function going on at the Castle when I visited, which meant that it was near impossible to take photos without someone getting in the way.....a lot of it was also under scaffolding being renovated, I'm hoping to go back there again at some stage though, hopefully when it's a little quieter and there's less clutter about!
