Oh Captain, my Captain! I say it to mock,
You're lucky as hell but to me you're a c***.
Please spare me the missions, I've no head for heights,
Balloons and big lists lead me only to blights.
Evading the probes of an alien race,
Then having to witness your > : ( angry face...
But what choice have I? I'm involved in these fights,
With Cancerous space-monsters full of red sprites,
And Lemonade weirdos and God knows what next,
Just how can you stay so serene and unvexed?
What price should I pay for your simple delights,
Be eaten by whales after soiling my whites?
I know you won't listen, but you'll come unstuck,
And one of these days you'll run right out of luck,
Your empire will fall, and your ego besides,
It's karma for sure, like the turn of the tides,
And then I will lol, sitting in my own muck,
Coz after all this I just won't give a f***.

"I hear Pripyat is pleasant this time of year."
Sniper stood watch, just outside the old travel agency building. Aside from somehow withstanding the rest of the block collapsing around it, the shop was impressive for having reasonably preserved brochures. Captain and Pilot would often amuse themselves by planning trips to countries that no longer existed, and Engineer would gather what they discarded for kindling. Whenever Sniper grew sufficiently bored, he'd call out with something he thought was witty.
It was a bit like that, being on watch; you'd either say something funny and die knowing your sense of humour was too good for this world, or you'd say nothing and die without validating your ego.
"Actually," Engineer spoke up from the Visit Asia section, a finger tracing over dusty advertisements as he moved along the aisle, "One of the last GOOD directorate broadcasts sent out was a list of anomalies brought on by the apocalypse, and apparently Chernobyl became the least radiated pla

The Year: 2017. Our story takes place in a world very different from the one you know and live in. Its a world where giant monsters have left a permanent blemish on the face of civilization. Since 1954, when a monster named Godzilla wreaked havoc on the Japanese city of Tokyo, massive beasts have cropped up all over the world. Sometimes, the beasts were fought off. Sometimes not. Countless thousands perished by their actions.
It wasnt until 1993 that a plan was undertaken to get the problem under control. In a joint effort by the countries of Japan and the United States, the two countries most frequently targeted by Kaiju, the bones of Godzilla were salvaged out of the bottom of the Japanese sea and shipped to a secret facility in the United States. Using modern cloning techniques, cells of the first, and still most powerful, monster ever seen were produced under strict control. Metal and flesh were combined, and a weapon of supreme power wa

It had taken him many days, but Zilla had finally found the landmass known as Monster Island. True to his suspicions, it bore the scents of a myriad of monsters. It was now that Zilla was quite thankful for the many scouts he had sent to this island to study its inhabitants years ago. In that time, they had collected enormous amounts of information on the monsters habitats, behavior, and even social structure. And Zilla knew it all.
Carefully, Zilla made his way into the jungle, taking pains not to be noticed, especially by the Alpha Kaiju of this half of the island, Anguirus. Ever since the island had been inhabited by these creatures, Anguirus had established himself as the dominant one. Any monster that made its way to the island, he hunted down and attacked, just to let them know who was boss. And judging from Zillas position, he was right smack in Anguirus half of the island. The other half of the island was ruled by the only ot

The far off planet of Taloon had been terrorized for months by a vicious beast. It seemed to have an insatiable appetite for the denizens of the planet, and an unyielding need to destroy everything it came across. Their weapons were useless. Taloon wasnt a technologically backwards planet, but it wasnt on the cutting edge either. It seemed hopeless.
Until one day when a three-headed savior came from the sky.
It burst forth from the clouds over one of Taloons last great cities, a city that was under attack from the monster. The dragons scales were the purest of white, giving an almost holy look to him. His cackle echoed across the landscape, a challenge to the murderer below him. The beast, which resembled a large bull with four horns instead of two and wings, answered with his own bellowing challenge.
The people looked on as the dragon crashed right into the bull, shoving him away from the outskirts of the city, and then st

Eventually, he was able to get a general idea of where the Godzilla was. It seemed he was more or less where hed been before, sleeping, recovering for over 15 years.
While his plan was to go to his successor, Godzilla felt a deviation would be more then acceptable, if for no other reason then to once again accomplish what hed done 63 years prior destroy Tokyo. Once again propelling himself with his entire minds considerable might, Godzilla moved into Japanese air space. Radar had picked him up long ago, right when hed entered the atmosphere, and ten Sakai class jet fighters were on an intercept course.

The answer was close, and they knew once they cracked the code, the secrets of the Bartosian Empire would come flooding out, and theyd go down in history.

The high council had been meeting for several days straight. Eating and sleeping in the same room theyd been in since the initial news that the planet Nuvi Prime was doomed. And they still couldnt agree on a way to save the population from a slow, arduous death.
Many suggestions had been thrown out, and each one had been shot down. The first idea was to build a massive spaceship and load the entire populace on it, then moving them to another planet. But Nuvian space charts were few and antiquated. They knew of no planet nearby that could sustain them, except for one that already had a thriving population on it. Beyond that, they simply didnt have the technology for a monumental task like that.
One man suggested they somehow refuel the sun, but the resource-scarce planet of Nuvi Prime could never handle such a task. One military leader, a Nuvian by the name of Kree, advocated heading to their neighboring world and subjugating

The last thing Karo remembered was the massive arm of Armada hovering above him and Shrika ominously, telling her he loved her, and kissing her. After that, nothing. Karo slowly opened his eyes and wiggled his fingers and toes. Good, he wasnt blind or paralyzed. He slowly sat up, making sure he had no severe pains anywhere that would tip him off to major injuries. A lot of aches and pains, but nothing major. He couldnt believe how lucky he was, hed fallen 50 meters, and not sustained major injuries. When Karo looked around, he understood why. Hed fallen into a huge stack of empty boxes that were filled with cushioning agents. The boxes had reduced the impact by quite a bit.
It was then that he thought of Shrika. Was she as lucky? Karo began frantically searching for her, calling her name as she searched. Finally, after several minutes, he heard her call back to him. K

Hed come very close himself to joining his companion. He was badly hurt when hed plunged into the cold waters. But years of hibernation and regeneration had healed all his wounds, and he was once again in perfect health.
He was also at peace. Why bother disturbing that peace? Yet, there was a sound, a voice calling him. Familiar, it beckoned him to leave his deep sleep. It called out to him to join it once again.
Yes it was his companion! The one hed been with many years ago, it wasnt dead! Excitedly, Godzilla began to stir, pulling himself out of the deep unconsciousness that hed resided in for over a decade. His eyes opened, and he looked around. He saw the body of his former ally, still lying motionless dead. His mind had tricked him.

As Taltana grabbed for her gun, Bastila's rod cracked against the witch's hand, making her howl, which was cut off as she smacked the disgusting yellow hutt-sucker across the face hard enough to make the rod break! Taltana collapsed on the floor, out cold.
At first Bastila was too shocked to move, her breath coming in short pants.
Was that darksided? She tried to weigh it out logically as jumbled emotions of excitement, anger, worry, and justification flew through her heart.
Hearing footsteps coming down the hall is what got her moving again. She dropped her half of the rod and snatched for the key and blaster.

Noble Six closed her eyes again, trying to forget the strange dream. In doing so, she drifted off into a subtle sleep again. She was awakened again when she heard the scuffing of boots enter through the door. She assumed it was a medic just borrowing some medical supplied for the next room and remained as if asleep. But she then figured out that her assumptions were wrong when the side of the cot seemed to tilt slightly to the side, as if something heavy had been set beside her. In puzzlement, she opened one eye to see what or who it was.
"Sorry." Jorge apologized while taking off his helmet, "I didn't mean to wake you."

Six saw the elite aiming his rifle at the slipspace drive on the pelican. She shot his arm with her pistol, and the weapon flew out of it's grasp. The elite roared in pain and glared at her. It pulled out a plasma grenade with it's good arm, and activated it. Right as soon as it was getting ready to throw it at Noble six, a spray of ammunition shot through it's head causing purple blood to splatter everywhere. "Sorry kids, time to close down," Mr. Litwak grinned, hearing a collective saddened sigh from the children and adults around him.
Within the next few moments, he locked up closing down the shop for the night.
Lucky stretched, having become used to the routine over the past few days. She looked at her casino to see new characters coming in to drink or play the reels and such. She couldn't help but smile. She never thought her game would become such a popular hangout.
She turned to walk around before bumping into someone, "Ouch! Oh sorry about that!"
It was a woman with black hair and green eyes, "Huh? Oh yeah…" she sighed adjusting her black tank top, and pulling it over the belt of her blue jean shorts.
"Hey… are you alright?" Lucky asked, curious to why the other was so upset.

Most historians have a statistical, timeline based view of the Human-Covenant War, or the "Great War," or even the "Great Journey" as some have come to adopt the title from the Covenant prophecy. Often what I see is a historical statistic calculated, inserted into a text book and then filed away as a dark chapter in human history. I personally see the thirty-year was as more of an entire book; not a single dark chapter, but many, each with their own perspective.
After I returned from active duty on Installation Zero, code-named "The Ark," I kept this attitude even as I fitted back into a civilian lifestyle, enrolling back into college. Nearing the end of my first semester back home, our final war history class requirement instructed that students work in groups to research and collaborate on writing a full, factual document regarding any particular effects or aspects of the Human-Covenant war from 2525 to present day
Killjoy: The Ark[Mark Davis barely takes his eyes off of the swirling inch of coffee at the bottom of his mug, biting the side of his mouth as we sit in a local cafe. It's ironic that we chose this as our place of meeting since the first time we spoke of the Ghost Soldier it was in a bar. His story made up for what mine lacked, since I was nowhere near his zones of operations during my time on The Ark. Even though he had already told me the story in a bar, this time is official and on record. He takes a long look at my recording device on the table and lets out a quiet laugh, jokingly comparing me to an ONI officer in a debriefing.]Killjoy: The Ark in Short Stories More Like This
"The Ark" might've looked like some piece of alien art or some hair-brained forerunner idea for a space station, but once we were on the surface it was just like the ring world I had stormed with In Amber Clad months back. It was all even-plained and stable. Sure it was disorienting that you could see the rest of the world just by looking up on the horizon, but as l

Krone jerked back as another bolt of plasma chipped off a piece of his and Ethan's cover. He was unsure whether or not he wanted to smile at the lunacy the new boot's plan. Their plan to exit the lobby could have gone only one of two ways; either they pull it off and both make it out alive or end up dead from just trying. Mike knew this. In fact, he probably understood it better than his ragtag partner. Why not, he thought as he placed a thumb over the primer on his grenade. We're out of options and I'm all for a standup fight.
There was one thing he was sure of. This is gonna be one for this kid's highlight reel. Just then, Ethan reached back and smacked Krone's shoulder guard to signal he was ready. The moment he felt the hit, Mike sent the grenade over his shoulder and clattering back across the lobby floor. He then replied by nudging Ethan with his shoulder. "Go, go, go!"

Killjoy: VisegradDespite the evidence of Planet Glassing in tell-tale scars around Bacigalupi Memorial, agriculture is still prevalent in Chi Rho's settlements. Vibrant isn't exactly the term I would use for some of the planet's country. The population has boomed since the flood of refugees but with the acres of unoccupied land between farms, "tranquil" would be the first thing that comes to mind, with its stable weather, hot climate and quiet atmosphere. Marcell Geza, a farmer from Reach, describes it as "safe" as he watches the distant activity of his neighboring farm. We had been living alone, me and my seventeen year old daughter, Ibolya. After her mother died I just refused to be anywhere else. Our work in the fields was the only thing paying for my daughter's education and I did not want to imagine myself anywhere near cities. I still cannot bear to be among too many people.

Big Team Battle: Capture the Flag
2 - 2 Score tied
"Five minutes remaining!" Jeff Steitzer announced in his catchy, gruff tone that was all too familiar to anyone who had spent any time in the Halo 3 sector. Following the announcement was an fresh serving of hell that unwound around Red Team's mobile command post; the Elephant. The communications chatter was filled with a slew of curses and angry jibberish as both sides aimlessly pummeled the crawler with grenade, Banshee and rocket in hopes to keep either side from gaining the flag. Of course, every game often has at least one outlier who refuses to conform to the endless and bloody squabble that usually ends games with a tie.
GrimR3aper505 and AltairsBlade barreled their Warthog through the scorching, sandy outskirts around the map. Grim swerved around the scenic debris in hopes to keep their speed high enough to outrun the infinite barrage of landmines. Shrapnel peppered over Alt's blue Mark V helmet. H

Wilks kept his eyes shut as the HEV violently descended, letting out a scream like that of a Banshee stuck in a stall. For once, he began to feel sick from the air turbulence. He was finally feeling nausea after a sucker punch from a piece of debris and a drag that yanked him out of subsonic free fall. In a way, he was proud of himself for having the stomach to hold back from vomiting. The ride down felt safe at first because of what he had experienced in simulations but this was different. Now he was truly aware of his vulnerability. As he opened his eyes, Ethan could only catch the silhouette of a skyscraper outside his view port just moments before the HEV made contact.
His shocked yell was drowned out by the sounds of glass, metal and concrete, all smashing against his pod. He could almost hear the impact echo through the building's frame like a pin drop under water. The pod finally came to a halt. Ethan felt himsel

UNSC Frigate Judgment
Earth Orbit 1500 Hours
Captain Akira Takashi of the UNSC frigate Judgment stood on the bridge, gazing out the view port at the remains a Naval defense ship in Earth's orbit. The ship had been torn in half by cruiser's main cannon. Debris from two defense platforms drifted, incinerating as they touched Earth's atmosphere. A single Covenant ship lingered over the city of New Mombasa. "We're too late," said the shaky voice of Akira's operations officer. She looked at the young lieutenant with a blank expression. It was time for her to act.
"No," she said in a relaxed, confidence inspiring manner, "we've actually made it in before closing time, people."
"Care to elaborate, captain?" her executive officer, Williams, said with a smile in his face. Akira knew that he trusted her judgment well enough to rely on it in this situation.
"The Navy took out most of the invading fleet. There's only one ship left, most of the OD platforms are stil

I live in a world of pitch black skies,
The dark is soothing to my sensitive eyes,
They've seen so many things in their short time,
Observed my world as a whole,
And broken it down, bit by bit, analyzed,
The trees cough out noxious gasses,
From their hollow holes, all throughout,
And their transparent leaves,
Clouds of despair,
Poisonous, looming in the air,
The grasses, all dead,
Blow in the eternal breeze,
They chill me and freeze my bones over,
I am but a shell carrying an icy burden,
It weighs me down, I cannot move,
I long for life.
But will I ever get it.
The important question at hand,
Only I can give the answer.
But it won't come without effort,
Motivation, I need,
Friendship and love, I plead,
For a clear mind, I bleed,
I yearn for the truth.

The clock struck one and shadows danced,
There I was among the ants,
The dark sky roared a somber tune,
Of thunder and droplets to drown me soon,
A heart of mud slipped out my chest,
Down to the ground to join the rest,
My fingertips were dark and stained,
And did not clean although it rained,
The liquid despair was dark as all else,
And soon I was a puddle myself,
Melted away into silence eternal,
Trodden upon and unheard.

The daily struggle rips me apart
Like the monster it is,
With its piercing nails
And though my blood spills,
I'm forced to smile through it all.
To overcome these obstacles,
To defeat this beast anxiety,
There's something I have needs to discover,
And that something must be me.
A thing, though observed each day,
More mysterious than any other
But who else can decipher the riddles of my mind
And thus they may remain unknown forever.
Locked away, causing me to suffer.
I don't want this fate,
So monster, prepare.

Add the numbers,
Read the lines,
Block out the thoughts within my mind.
Trapped in these desks till the end of each day,
My thoughts, no, they should not stray.
Yet with each day, work goes ignored,
Without these thoughts I will be bored.
And in my being each thought will grow,
Until it is a worthy foe.
When the battles begin the casualties spread,
I can feel the claws mutilate my head.
And the bits and gibes leak from my ears,
Forming puddles of my greatest fears.
They soil my shoes, soak my feet,
The rule me over in but a single heartbeat.

That although I know you don't like me,
You really make my day,
If it wasn't for you,
I would always be blue,
With no reason to smile,
It would take quite a while,
For me to find a reason,
To get up out of bed,
So you see I just wanted you to know,
As stupid as it is,
I don't ever want you to go.

In the air, a single Raven helicopter makes its way to an unknown crashsite. The passengers were the well known Delta Squad of the now defunct Coalition of Ordered Governments or COG.
It's been over a year since the last human stronghold, Jacinto, was sunken in order to end the humans of Sera win the war against the Locust Horde's genocidal battle. However, the leader of the COG, Chairman Prescott, abandoned the survivors and left them to fight for survival.
Not only that, but a new threat has filled the gap the Locust left. That new threat is The Lambent, a horde of mutated Locust due to constant exposure to the highly toxic Imulsion. Now they have mutated further and is now killing everything in sight.
Sergeant Marcus Fenix still remembers how fast the Lambent became a serious threat to humanity's safety. But now his team are on a salvage mission for their battleship base and whatever just crashed a few hours ago, is a prime target.

After Delta rescued Prescott, they went to the airlifts to help the Ravens take off from the Sovereign. But once they got there, however, it was filled with Lambent.
"They seemed to have taken over the ship." Cortana noted.
"Not on my watch." Chief said has he used the scope of his Battle Rifle to take out a Drudge, but the Drones noticed where the shot was fired and unleashed a hail of bullets at Delta.
"Take them out, we need to get those Ravens in the the air." Marcus ordered.
The team then went to take out the remaining Lambents as Chief went to the control room of the first landing pad and pulled the lever, activating the lift as the Raven took off.
"Delta, we need assistance, you need to activate the lift." The pilot of the second Raven asked via radio.
"Roger! Delta get that Raven in the air!" Marcus ordered.
Suddenly a massive tentacle came from the opening above the Raven and grabbed the helicopter. It then crushed it and through it out of the airlift.

Halsey then approached John and asked "Are you ready John?"
"Yes doctor!" John said firmly.
Halsey nodded and then placed an oxygen mask on John's face and he could already feel the sedatives reaching into his system.

Cortana herself was doing good, for the most part. She had upgraded the Sovereign's computers, helping Anya with her service in the intelligence field.
