Rouge stared at the Emerald in her hands. The suns light hit it at just the right angle to cause a rainbow of indigo shades on her gloves. Such a beautiful gem, and for it and its brothers to have caused so much strife it seemed truly a shame
Mephiles felt the ache in his head subside some, and was reminded painfully of his shoulder injury. Had he had teeth, he would have gritted them. He made a mental note that if he lived through this; he was going to alter his look a bit, as he had actually grown used to the concept of teeth, tongue and mouth when he had managed to possess Shadow, and wondered vaguely, as his stomach gave a uncomfortable twist when his shoulder twinged with pain from Shadows strike earlier . What would have happened if he felt the need to vomit?
He looked up at Rouge, waiting for her to make her move. She hesitated, and then looked down at him questioningly.

A light was shining in his eyes, waving back and forth. He didn't know what was going on, and only thought of squeezing his eyes shut when he realized the light was deliberately shining in them.
Groaning in annoyance, he reached a hand up weakly to shove it away, having a great displeasure for anything that agitated his photophobia (sensitivity to light).
His head hurt. What else was new? The side he was laying on ached dully, as if he might have struck it from a fall.
At least he was on something soft. And from what he could tell, no restraints were on him either. Something about that calmed him a little, and he stretched a bit before curling up again, intending on enjoying it for as long as he could.
Sensing that the light thing was gone, he opened one eye slowly to look at where he was and was greeted by only blurred shapes, his eyes still extremely out of focus.

"We've located the source of the internal bleeding and stitched that up, as well as his tail appears to be dislocated, his brain shows signs of a concussion, but no indication of swelling, and he may need a transfusion to compensate for the amount of blood he's lost..."
"What about his eye..?" Shadow asked nervously.
"Well, the good news is that there's no sign of damage to the part the actually sees, so I'm sure he won't be blind there..." Thizon smiled slightly only to let it fade as quickly as it came. "The bad news is that we don't know if there will be a lasting mark, because it's quite deep, and we don't know to what extent his ability can correct it... So we're not sure if it's going to be a scar or not..."

Mephiles was gazing out the window of Rouges house, amusing himself by trying count how many birds hung around on the telephone wires. Every time he got to what he thought would be the last number more birds would come, and several would leave in a flurry of feathers, causing him to lose track of his number, and have to restart again.
It had been several months since Mephiles had tried to gain possession of a Chaos Emerald to further help his plans to cast this world in to a land of fire and darkness, hoping that the silver hedgehog he had convinced to try to kill the blue hedgehog known as Sonic the Hedgehog, to cause his own human sister, Princess Elise of Soleanna, to shed a tear or two, and release the seal that kept his fiery brother, Iblis, locked away from the world, and inside the Princess.
After he did get his hands on an Emerald, he was promptly beaten into submission by Shadow the Hedgehog, who was not related to the blue hedgehog, but bor

Dark's eyes snapped open, surveying the dark room.
Perhaps I'm just hearing things again... He told himself, a little annoyed, as he had actually managed to fall asleep at a reasonable hour. This wasn't something he welcomed too well.
'You know something? You're a pretty intelligent individual...' The voice added.
And you must be Dark Gaia's influence, trying to corrupt me... Dark responded in a hostel way, rolling on his side and pulling a pillow over his head. Go away...
'Not really too much needing to be done, anyway...' The voice said, making Dark's body go stiff. 'Pretty impressive work, there... Shame you gave it up...'
I found more important things. Better things. Dark tried to brush it off. Things you probably lack the ability to grasp...

Dark was panting, not reacting too well to the rather warm environment. His sore body was quivering, fur wet with sweat, his insides burned, and his stomach was full of discomfort and nausea.
He stood up from the floor with difficulty, but was nevertheless determined. He melted into his most purest form, intending on squeezing into every edge and corner to find a weakness and see if he could slip out...
Ignoring Shu's sound of awe at this ability, he pressed against the edge where the clear cell wall met the floor, sliding along the base slowly, finding no way to breach it. He moved to the corner, pressing up along the edge where the walls met, getting more and more sluggish in movement.
Then, without warning, his body changed back, leaving him standing there, eyes half open in confusion as he trembled and sweat profusely, pale face flushed red, breathing much too fast, each inhale sounding like loud gasps. Dark looked back at Mephiles, who was sleeping fitfully in the seat next to him, pale face having gained a sick tone from the movement of the aircraft.
The shadow then looked back out the window, eyes flashing a bit from the small amount of light outside, allowing him to see fairly clear in the night.
This sucks... I'm bored, it's cramped in here, and I have the distinct feeling it's only going to get worse from here... Dark leaned back in the seat, bringing both hands to his head and dragging them down in frustration.

"... I don't know about this..." Dark mumbled as he shook his head slowly.
Mephiles had managed to convince him to actually leave the house, even more so that they were in town, and more surprisingly... Shadow wasn't following them to keep an eye on Dark, probably because of yesterday's incident.
Mephiles looked at him innocently, noticing that Dark had taken up a timid nature all of a sudden, perhaps due to being out of his comfort zone. Every time someone passed by them, Dark quickly looked at the ground as if hoping that would make him unnoticeable. He also kept shifting on what part of the sidewalk he was on, as if he couldn't decide that it was better to be closer to the cars, or closer to the doors of the buildings, as he kept retreating to the side with the least movement when either a car or a person moved passed.

Dark had hardly gotten two chapters into the fourth book before he fell asleep, many hours later (Dark is fast at silent reading, but fairly moderate in reading aloud, with very few word stumbles, which he had been doing so to keep from letting the room fall silent.).
He had been laying on his back, holding the particularly large volume upright on his chest to make it easier to hold it open with his uninjured hand, which was starting to not react so much to pressure, now. The book fell page side down on his face, which he didn't bother to move because he was already asleep by the time in fell over.
Iblis glanced at the clock. It was half past midnight, so it was no wonder the younger one was tired from reading out loud for as long as he had.
Well, he does seem to enjoy the story... The flame mused to himself, reaching over and picking up the book and sliding the folded paper, with the picture of Mephiles, in it as a bookmark, before closing it and setting it on the side table on

... It's very bizarre that something like this exists here, when most of the inhabitants around here are robots... Dark thought to himself, examining the adjoining bathroom to the ward-like room more closely than he had before now. ... I can let the basics slide, considering there's supposed to be at least one actual living being living here at all times... But why on Mobius would there be a need for a bathtub..? Who has the time around here to just sit when a shower is more efficient..?
Then he wondered if the shock collar was water resistant. His fur had been starting to feel sticky and grimy, and one of the reasons stopping him from doing much about it was whether or not he was in danger of getting fried from the electrical current passing through water.

One of the guests started to speak after finishing their food. "So has anyone happened to hear of the Chaos Emeralds?" The blue hedgehog started.

"Some say they're magical gems that can grant your every wish., especially those for power. They are said to be shaped like diamonds and resemble some kind of rainbow type color scheme. There are supposed to be seven when you get all seven of them, your every dream will come true." The hedgehog said.

It moved its gaze from the weasel to the floor, beginning to mop the floor where a pile of dirt had been dumped.

He walked over to the closet his mom had said to look through for a tux, opening the door. He rummaged through the suits that hung on clothes hangers, looking for one that was at least similar to the ones he preferred.
He saw one that was blue then started to remove the tux that he was wearing. The orange weasel's fur was a bit messy from him taking it off.

Sonic willed himself to avoid her eyes; looking at her directly would make everything that much harder. Just judging by her tone suggested that she was already growing steadily more upset by his confession. He had grown to know her tones; when her voice trembled and when it's pitch heightened typically meant that the girl was upset -- dangerously upset, at that.
"Amy..." he started, awkwardly. What was he supposed to say?
Out of the corner of his eyes he saw her stand there, crestfallen. Her head had bowed over.
"...you knew I wasn't going to stay long, Ames." he said quitely. She jerked her head just slightly; a form of nodding, he percieved.
She emitted a tiny gasp. He allowed himself to gaze at her, look her in the eyes. They were glazed over and it was clear that tears were threatning to fall, if it wasn't for the fierce lip bitting sh

Religion or Faith?Religion or Faith? in Philosophical More Like This
I've been thinking about a few things and this just came to me:
What is important?
Faith or Religion?
Now that I think of it, I would say that Faith's important. Religion is just a Earthly classification, just a title. People can be called Christians, but they put their Faith only on their own power.
I may be called a Christian and some of my friends may be called Catholics, Baptists, or Evangelists. And we would get into arguments about different ideas and such, but we both have the same Faith and it is this:
"And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God." I John 4: 14-15
In short, I am not "just a Christian", I am a "Follower of Christ".
The next you ask someone what their religion is, ask what is their Faith instead.

Other religions do have some similarities to Christianity but they are not the same as Christianity and I don't believe that other religions can fill that "gap" every human has. My religion has taught me a lot of things about living.
My religion is based on salvation. In other religions, you must do good deeds in order to receive salvation. But in Christianity, no amount of good deeds can bring you true salvation. Only through accepting Jesus' sacrifice will one truly have salvation, with no strings attached. As a result of His sacrifice, Christians don't stress out about doing anything to receive salvation. Shuddering and rocking all the way through the Earth's atmosphere, the rusting space shuttle seemed to fall apart as is descended, as if it would become immaterial at any given moment and vanish. Flames licked at the cockpit exterior from the immense heat generated by the friction and gravity acting conversely on the vessel.
Shadow had once survived a free-fall from ARK, so while not exactly fearful as far as safety and survival was concerned, he was gripping the handles tightly and frowning in concentration as he tried without success to keep the craft mostly level.
As he hurtled down entrapped in a shell of shattered steel, the shuttle pierced the clouds, snapping and writhing as metal warped and engine burned. It tilted slightly as it made its final descent, before finally crashing down in a shower of dirt and eviscerated steel, red hot with the searing fire of the journey down.

Amy Rose sat hunched over her desk, biting her tongue, and tapping her favorite pink pen on her notebook as she looked back over her checklist. It looked like everything was going according to plan: soon all of her friends would be over to celebrate her 13th birthday. It was weird to think that just yesterday, she'd been 12, and today, she was 13. Growing up was a gradual thing, yet it was celebrated as if it was an overnight transformation.
