The first Belmont to kill Dracula.

Giving him a redesign was really tough. Really can't top the original design by Ayami Kojima.

Grandpa Belmont in all his awesomeness. Not that much of a redesign though, just slightly different from the original.

Oh god I love his theme: [link]

Sypha from Castlevania III. Since the actual game sprite and boxart didn't really tell much about Sypha, I went ahead and took the liberty to redesign her slightly. Still faithful to the original but with my own flare to it.

Trevor from Castlevania III Dracula's Curse. Although nowadays Trevor is drawn with dark brown hair I prefer the old box art style. Looks almost like Simon but hey I'll take it over the CoD redesign. The background is the second stage where Trevor first encounters Grant.

This was supposed to be done for Castlevania's 25th anniversary last year, but I didn't get it finished in time.

So, Happy (really) belated birthday, Castlevania!

Celebrating 25.5 years and counting of kicking Dracula's patooty. :)

My favorite Castlevania on NES (and the first of the serie I played) is Dracula's Curse. Great game and one with the best soundtrack so far (despite the orchestrated ones on DS).

This illustrates the very begin of the game with Trevor Belmont praying for a good hunt at the ruins of a town's curch.

Made for :icongame-art-hq:'s Castlevania tribute.

Long time I've invested in this piece to make it what it is. Also, it's one of my favorite NES games: Castlevania III Dracula's Curse. Original file is 120x180 cms (47,24x70,86 in) at 300dpi, so I might got too ambitious on this particular one trying to get the old gothic church stained glass window look. Nevertheless, I'm way too happy and proud of the result.

Some of the details in this piece are for historical references: last names of Grant and Sypha: Dăneşti and Vernandes; and the Dracul (Dragon) emblem on the Winged Guard. I gave Sypha a skirt as in Akumajo Dorakyura Pachislot game despite the fact she dresses as a man, Alucard his albine look in SOTN with some outfit changes, and Trevor a coat like in Akumajo Dorakyura Pachislot regarding their original look for the sake of tastes. Hope doesn't bother the more purist of the series.

Hope you like it. Comments are much appreciated.

UPDATE: this piece has many small details, so I uploaded a bigger file to appreciate them and an even bigger file to download just for you. Also gave a little weaker signature so it doesn't bother too much.

Castlevania (c) Konami

EDIT: Many have PM'ed me. So... as requested, I added the possibility to download a 3000x4500px version (from 14000x21000px of the original file) with no big watermarks. Enjoy!

Everyone draws Ryu young and powerful and every move he has has been illustrated...

So! I thought "and where his life will take him. Well, I think he'll be one of those masters with only 2 or 3 students to continue the art he has perfected through his life.

So here you have... and aged Ansatsuken Master Ryu.

Comments are much welcome.

Recent work that I feel confident enough to post. Julius Belmont, in his younger years.

Hope they make a game about him.

For Castlevania fans out there...

[Edit: 07/04] - Changed the composition of the image to give more focus to young J. Also depicted him holding a red ribbon along with the whip. The way I envision the Castlevania 1999 game, the red ribbon would be a major plot device; later J would wear the ribbon around his neck, as we see it depicted in Kojima's popular old J artwork.

I noticed this sitting in my unfinished works bin for about a year already. This guy begs to get finished...and so I did.

No refs, around 9 hrs spread across a year (!).

Who's in it: Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin, from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

Probably like many admirers of Ayami Kojima and her works, I find the character design for Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin quite bland compared to Kojima-san's regal artworks (Portrait of Ruin probably was forgivable). I really wish Kojima-san was commissioned to do DoS and PoR but it didn't happen.

This is a humble tribute to her art style, to how I imagined Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin, PoR's protagonists, should've looked like.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and the Castlevania franchise are owned by Konami. ([link])
