So I always thought on doing a " Where the Wild Things Are" piece a long while ago but never did for some reason. I thought though that since I'm visiting all my childhood characters I'd do something with these fellers at last.

I always thought on what if the kid stayed in the land of the Wild THings though. How would he turn out...hmm? I might explore that a little. For now though...normal mode. :)

Forgot to pop this skratch baby up of these three cool, dark gentlemen. Man I love Darkseid! Nothing is cooler than a dude who can shoot beams out of his eyes that turns corners... AND keep his arms behind his back. Damn!

This is a Joker commission I did on 11x14 bristol with brush and ink, and watercolor. I love the Joker because his madness allows for some experimentation in his shapes. I love trying out crazy shapes.

I've been spending time this past month testing out new finishing styles to use for my children's adventure graphic novel. I wanted it to have the same feeling that I've been applying in my OZ books but stand out on it's own to fit my new story. The more I played around, the more it just felt exactly like what I was doing on Oz. So I decided to put the brush down for a bit and see if switching up tools would help me find a new path.

After playing around with pens and treating the art a bit more like a kid drawn sketch I felt that I was getting somewhere. Instead of trying to bring the drawings into a full 3d cartoon type of finish, I tried to keep it a bit 2d and story book in nature.

I haven't given much information on my graphic novel and I don't plan to until it's done but I couldn't resist sharing this little test panel. Hopefully this sparks a little something in the kid in you.

American Vampire: SOTF #2 hits shelves tomorrow.

This is one of my favorite pages Dave Stewart has ever colored. I don't know who's idea the pink sky was, but I love it. A pink sunset with Nazi red flags--one of the mans odd things you get to draw in comics.

She will be the star in many Hentais.

Edit: Disliked the digital inks and made this traditional ink version. Also changed the bg color to grey, the character pops out more.

Congrats to the graduation!

No one was harmed in the making of this comic.

Some feelings might have been, though.

This was a 'guaranteed' sketch from a con this summer, and the eBay winner (that's how we let people fight it out) picked Maggie the Mechanic from the Hernandez Bros.' LOVE AND ROCKETS. One of the all-time greatest comics, period.

This comic is about uncertainty, not suicide.

After my trip to Hong Kong for Lunar New Year's invalidated my work visa, I had to go to Japan to get a new one.

I was so mad at my employer that I quit, so all month I've been trying to get a new job and apartment.

These are the kinds of things that I hate to do, but have to do.

A belated Gung Hei Fat Choi to all of you. :)

Hahaha-- I promise, this comic made sense in my head.

I wanted to do something with a banana peel.

It was originally supposed to be set on a sidewalk, but I just thought that sky was sooOo pretty, that I finished the comic in the desert.

So take it as it is.

This is what is was supposed to mean:
Often, people will see a problem, and the solution is obvious. In this case, pick up the peel. Another solution, is to not pick up the peel, but to prevent people from stepping on it.

weird~

How about you? What are you up to these days?

Oh hey... reminds me.

Fave things.

Faving helps other people find the artwork you like.

In addition, exposure may be the only reward the artists are getting.

Oh man I bet some of you smart-alecs were all "Bean, your character is a cyborg with huge metal limbs fighting on top of some cliffs in a lightning storm. Clearly you are ignoring the hazard the lightning would pose to Melody as it would likely strike her and do serious damage to her body which heavily relies on mechanical circuits."
Well JOKES ON YOU! ROCK AND ROLL > PHYSICS!
