Just a note : by popular demand I have turned on Custom Backgrounds. However, I would strongly recommend using some really dark backgrounds, as the theme was not designed with light backgrounds in mind. For lighter backgrounds, I would suggest AdiumyChat

I love the old Metal Muku [link] theme by Jesse Dodds [link] and I have been trying to port it to Snow Leopard ever since I got off of 10.5. Since Metalik by Monsieur Julien Sagot [link] is similar in some ways it has proved a great place to start on my quest to pull together a Snow Leopard compatible Metal Muku port. This download is a "Metal Muku" ThemePark file as well as the titlebar control resource PNG file. Install Metalik (which I highly recommend) and then this Metal Muku update to get that classic old Metal Muku look. If you use this then make sure you also get the matching iTunes 9x [link] or iTunes 10 [link] Metal Muku themes and maybe even my Flocked Finder Backgrounds [link] which go well together.
- Get/run ThemePark 4.x [link] - Apply the ThemePark file (this adds the menubar too)
For just the traffic Lights
- Open your ArtFile - Select the last set called "titlebarcontrols" - Click on one of the resources & pull down the Edit/Select All menu - Drag-and-drop this PNG onto the middle/bottom little window showing all resources together - Apply and log out/log in
This will make your Metalik theme look like the old Metal Muku. This includes the smaller window size controls too.
All credits and thanks go to Daisuke Yamashita [link] for the original Muku design in 2006 and Jesse Dodds [link] for Metal Muku and permission to work on this mod and Monsieur Julien Sagot [link] for Metalik and his kind permission to start with his theme. There are elements from Inset: Dark by theBassment [link] in the ThemePark file which I did not realize at first so I also want to give credit and a special thanks because Inset Dark is a very cool mod that I love and highly recommend to anyone on Snow Leopard.
I finally got around to making a custom Finder background to go with my current Metal Muku fetish. This is a 2,000 pixel by 4,000 pixel image to be used with the typical settings (128 pixel icons & 10 pt font). Remember to adjust the spacing so they all line up. And it's an 8-bit PNG to keep the file size down (900Kb) for speed. The download includes a corrugated board background as well. Here's a quick visual tutorial on how to setup Finder for these backgrounds. If you like these you should also try my Metalik Muku theme and Metal Muku iTunes 9.1 traffic lights mod. Enjoy!
I've figured out a work-around to get the great Tangy and Luscious GrApple Firefox 3.5 themes [link] working with the clean Nuala for Snow Leopard [link] theme. Nuala is a great theme that uses a lighter than normal menubar and on Firefox this causes a hard break between the menubar and the toolbars. This fix works for FF 3.5 and if you can find the right locations it should work in 3.6 too. These screenshots show what GrApple Tangy and Luscious look like using the Nuala theme and this simple mod.
1. Copy Toolbar Image Drop this Toolbar.png file [link] into your /Users/YOURNAME/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/RANDOMSTUFF.default/chrome/ folder. I spent a lot of time trying to get the gradients to meet up properly so it would look clean and smooth.
2. Edit userChrome.css Add the lines below to your /Users/YOURNAME/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/RANDOMSTUFF.default/chrome/userChrome.css file:
This is Epiphany, a soft-styled menubar for Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
See attached readme for instructions, but please note, this is a Snow Leopard ONLY mod. Do not install this on Leopard, support is coming in a future release.
You need to do some tweaking if you want this menubar along with your current theme (otherwise installing this with a theme installed might mess things up):
*Uninstall Epiphany *Reinstall your theme *Launch the Epiphany DMG and right click on "Apply", show package contents *Open SArtFile.bin with ThemePark (if you don't have it, download it) *In ThemePark, keeping SArtFile.bin open, click "File, New" and then edit SArtFile, you should have two windows open now *Copy #61, #62, #116 INDIVIDUALLY from the first SArtFile you opened, and paste them one by one into the new one we created. (if you don't want the new apple logo from Epiphany, just copy #116 then) *Save the new one and apply *Logout and log back in
This is a port of iPhoto scrollbars to Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
Screenshot of it in action alongside SnowTunes: [link]
Update, version 1.1 (Feb 9): added ThemePark files.
To install: 1) Select whether you use a dark menubar (with white text) or a light menubar (with black text, default).
2) Double click the corresponding folder.
3) Open the alias and delete Extras2.rsrc (make a copy of it first and keep it somewhere safe in case you want to uninstall!)
4) Drag the Extras2.rsrc onto the alias, enter your password/authenticate when prompted. It is important to note the installation will fail/you will encounter an error if you do not first delete the Extras2 file in the alias then replace it with the one provided.
That's it! I cannot be held responsible for whatever you do to your system, keep a backup of the file and/or a system backup available.
Uses portion of SnowTunes/iLeopard for progressbars.
