"Damon!" Father called from the house. Damon had just begun playing with the new wooden soldiers his uncle had made him for his birthday – they were excellent and auntie Magda had promised to paint them for him one day. He enjoyed watching how the warm rays of the sun made the figures shine and how the shadows coloured them as if they were real people. The knight had just been about to lead his troops to fight a vicious army of spruce cones, and therefore it was no wonder the boy wrinkled his nose, annoyed by his father's summons.
