Zira didn't know what led her to give into Shere Khan's advances. He hadn't been very inconspicuous about his intentions, especially in front of Scar. She was Scar's queen, Scar's mate! Not Shere Khan's. Yet, the Queen of the Outlands found herself drawn to the tiger.
That night, Zira made a tragic descision. She gave in. Unknown to her at the time she would come to regret her decision that night.
This is not good! Zira thought. She was a mother...twice. She knew the early signs of pregnacy. No one could tell for the moment, she wasn't showing, but Zira, herself, knew. She was definately pregnant and the cubs were not Scar's.
Horror filled her mind at the thoughts of having another cub. What if Scar found out? Did he know already? Shere Khan hadn't been very secretive about his advances. Zira knew that if Scar discovered her betrayal, the cub wouldn't be the only one in danger.
Only time would tell.
TLK: Eyes Wide OpenDarkness. The only thing that Jia ever knew was an impentrable darkness. Being blind, she was used to it. It was all she had ever known and therefore it was safe. Although this also meant that she couldn't fend for herself like any normal lioness would. She couldn't hunt, couldn't stray very far alone and she didn't know what her parents, siblings and friends looked like.TLK: Eyes Wide Open in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
The darkness was a curse but she didn't know whether she wanted to breach the world outside. It could be brutal and painful, she knew this and she didn't have to witness the horrors that everyone around her did. She was safe in her own little world. That was, until now.
It was the period just after the wet season but not quite the dry season either. Some called it 'spring', when all the calves were young before they left for greener pastures. At night, a rare sight graced the skies of the Pridelands.
The Great Spirits, as they were known. All the cubs gathered outside the den and marvelled at the colourful display

Vitani was back. Scamp could hardly believe it. It had been almost a week since Shere Khan and Kovu had dragged her away to the Outlands. Scamp had been frantic with worry for her.
She had been found unconcious at the border, she had tried to escape but someone had caught her. She had been taken straight to the MASH tent and no one but Tiana had seen her since.
Scamp wanted to see Vitani first, he had to know that she was ok. He knew she wouldn't be completely ok but it was better than her being dead right? He had often thought that her family may have killed her and that made him feel all the more guilty for not being able to stop them taking her.
Tiana met him just as he was about to enter and she looked slightly surprised at seeing him.
"Is 'Tani ok? Is she awake?" he asked nervously.
"Yes." Tiana replied "She's very upset but I think seeing one of her friends might do her some good considering what happened."
"What happened?" Scamp asked a feeling of worry creeping ov
DWOW: Reality or FictionIt was a week after his death that Vitani first saw Scamp. She had escaped the tent after having yet another nightmare, lying helpless whilst Scamp's death was repeated in front of her. It was too much. She hated it. What was worse was that she felt so selfish. Gurri and Mooch had lost not only Scamp but the Great Prince and Geno...yet she seemed to focus only on Scamp and it made her feel like a monster.DWOW: Reality or Fiction in Short Stories More Like This
The cool night sent shivers down her spine. Her paws carried her to the familiar hill that she always stargazed on, the one place she could come and be comforted by the sheer beauty of the starry sky...yet even the stars lost some of their beauty in her eyes. Nothing was the same without him. She ached.
She had lay down only five minutes when she caught something out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head and suppressed a gasp. It was Scamp. She would have believed him alive if it weren't for an almost angelic glow that seemed to radiate from him. She blinked a few times; unsur

"C'mon Grandma! We're gonna miss it!" The young cub cried excitedly as he ran ahead of the elderly lioness.
"I'm coming!" she replied. A smile graced her muzzle as her grandson shifted from paw to paw in excitement as he waited for her to catch up. His fur was a bright shade of gold, like the sun, with bright chocolate eyes.
"Are we nearly there yet Grandma?" he asked as the old lioness finally reached his side. She wasn't as fast as she used to be.
"We're here acctually." she replied lying down in the soft savannah grass and the cub promptly flopped down beside her. For a moment there was silence as the two lions peered up at the night sky and waited.
"Here it comes." the lioness whispered softly as suddenly, snaking through the sky, came a bright light that faded through many different colours from red to blue to green, purple, orange, yellow and many more. The cub gasped in wonder while the lioness merely smiled serenely.
"Is that it? It's...It's..." the cub strugg

"Permission to enter the armoury?" Scamp asked teasingly. Vitani pulled back the tent flap with a somewhat bemused smile.
"Very funny Scamp. Come in I've almost finished getting ready."
Scamp moved past Vitani and saw that lying on her bed were a multitude of daggers of various shapes and sizes. Scamp stared in shock at the amount of weapons that covered Vitani's bed.
"Woah...it is like an armoury in here." Scamp said in disbelief.
"That's not all of them." Vitani replied nonchalently "I've already got some of them on me."
Vitani reached for a small holster before rolling up the leg of her jeans and strapping it to her shin. She then reached for what looked like extremely sharp pencils and began to load them into the holster on her leg.
"Pencils...really 'Tani I think that's going a bit far."
"They aren't pencils." Vitani replied "They're darts and they can pierce wood and bone and there's more on the other leg."
Scamp gulped at this. Note to self: Don't annoy
