This is the proudest moment in my papercraft "career"!
This model was supposed to be our Paperpoké's launch model, but that plan didn't quite pan out. But, I guess, better late than never. And as a small electric mouse once said: "Pi-pi-pi, pika-CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"
Special thanks go to POdragon (~Jynxie [link]) and Brandon (~z8-0 [link]) for helping me out with some of the 3D stuff.
This one is an old model that I had a play around with almost a year ago, now. But I never finished it because I always had problems with the jar and the visibility of the clear plastic tabs.
There were many discussions re: "the problem of tabs on clear media" on Nintendo Papercraft forum, but nothing that I found satisfactory.
I used overhead projector plastic film, which I found inherently difficult to glue together because it was made of Polypropylene (PP). It was only after purchasing 20 sheets in a pack that I discovered PP doesn't like with superglue - it's possibly the only material in the world that repels Cyanoacrylate !
So I finally got off my proctastinating bottom and finshed this model "old school" style - an idea here, a tweek there, a snip here, and a try-again there. What you are seeing is the 2nd fairy (the first got smoshed by my 3y/o) and the 3rd jar (not the failed prototypes) that I have built from the model/ emplate we released December last year.
It's not perfect, or like we envisioned, but it'll do for now. Or until they make a glue for PP plastic. I could always try glass and silicone ... phft, that's foolish talk!
When I played Pokémon Blue/Red, I was so happy to discover that there was the 999 Masterball cheat - BEST CHEAT EVER!
Couldn't have finished playing that game without it! So I decided to make some, much to the excitement of my kids! These were really the only ones I used throughout the game, with the exception of the Safariball, but that's boring - it's just green on top with an "S".
So anyways, the .PDOs are available on Nintendo Papercraft [link] , but here is the d/l link: [link]
However, the original unfold by the designer THI was not as user friendly as it could have been, and as a result, i ended up making about 3 Masterballs before I came up with a solution to make closing acceptable.
So if you want to wait for a bit, I will re-unfold all 10 balls, and re-publish them on our blog - I might even attempt making them all ... or not! Or you can give the original unfold a go, and if you do, kudos to you!
Here is a list of the ten balls that are included in the d/l pack: Poké Ball Great Ball Ultra Ball Master Ball Safari Ball Moon Ball Luxury Ball Premier Ball Net Ball Nest Ball
Let me introduce to you the "bad guys" of my PMD story, Team Omega. They are lead by a Tyrannitar, who, mysteriously, became mad after he evolved from Larvitar to Pupitar and formed this time. All he wanted was to rule Mystery Dungeon Land. So, he formed an army. This army's training was ruthless. The Pokemon had to go through many intensive battle, such as this one between a Houndoom and Luxray. This was all to prove who was the best of the best. The better you were, the tougher and more important missions you got, along with more recognition.
"In the jungle Welcome to the jungle Feel my, my, my serpentine I, I wanna hear you scream.
Welcome to the Jungle. It gets worse here everyday. Ya learn ta live like an animal. In the jungle where we play. If you got a hunger for what you see. You'll take it eventually. You can have anything you want But you better not take it from me."
- Guns N' Roses
In this picture, just before the humans enter the jungle area, they are treated to a fight between a Treecko and a Tsutarja that just started as they got there.
In Mystery Dungeon Land, there's always a battle, outright, to be won. However, not all are against enemies. Sometimes, even the best of friends can battle, but not seriously rought, of course. Just in this case, before a big-time annual dance takes place, two friends, Blue the Electrike and White the Zorua, fight each other over who gets to dance with 's Eevee, Silver. In this image, Blue tries to block White from biting on his front leg. Which friend will prevail?
And here's the Luigi version. I was gonna upload it yesterday, after getting off of work.....but since work turned out to be one of the shittiest days I've ever had, I didn't feel like doin' nothing.
But enough about that...
Like the Peach and Mario verison, this too, was colored in marker. (of course, the flesh was colored with colored pencils. ) I has a lot of marker-colored pics. :U
Artist Complaint One of Luigi's arms/hands appears to be shorter/smaller than the other. .__________. (I still need lots'o practice on drawing the Mario Bros, obviously. T_T )
FUN FACTS Unlike the Mario & Peach ones that were drawn back in January 2010, this one was drawn back in June 2010. The Peach & Mario ones were drawn after playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii This one was drawn while watching my brother (the one without a dA account) play Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Yes! I finally finished this one! After spending like 3 hours on this pic.
It's the Hammer Brother from New Super Mario Bros. I love them! I always pick them to play on my team (Mario Baseball). I attempted to mimic his artwork, as seen in NSMB --> www.mariowiki.com/images/4/4a/…
Figured I upload something before going to work. Yeah...that's all I've been doing since my 6 day suspension was over. =/ (work, Work, WORK. >__> ) And I ain't talking no simple 4 hour shifts...heh, no. Try 5 to 10 hour shifts practically everyday (with one off day here or there. )
Tis just a simple pic of Mario, colored in marker (yes...more marker art. ), to go along with the "Just Peach" drawing I posted some time ago. (there's a Luigi one, too....before anyone ask. )
Artist Complaint I absolutely hate how Mario's legs were drawn. The more I look at it....the more it makes me wanna cut his legs off. ;___________; (or simply redraw this whole piece ).
FUN FACTS This was drawn 6 days after the Peach pic. Coincidentally....both of them were drawn after playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Finally, 's second part of her commission. I was really apprehensive about doing it because I was afraid I would mess up the colors. But the colors aren't /that/ wrong I guess. I got them as close as I could. This one was actually easier than the sketcher one xD He is glowing a bit because Polt is a ghost. He's a fun character. Thanks again, Keyox, for commissioning me again! I'm uploading a little extra piccy for you next for being so patient and because this one wasn't it's best.
Commission Part 1 for of her character Poltergeist. Done in sketcher. I wanted to do something playful, so I hope this looks okay. And I wasn't sure if I liked the shading on this one, so I'll give a link to the one with simpler shading. [link]
