Go Pokeball!!!

When I played Pokémon Blue/Red, I was so happy to discover that there was the 999 Masterball cheat - BEST CHEAT EVER!

Couldn't have finished playing that game without it! So I decided to make some, much to the excitement of my kids! These were really the only ones I used throughout the game, with the exception of the Safariball, but that's boring - it's just green on top with an "S".

So anyways, the .PDOs are available on Nintendo Papercraft [link] , but here is the d/l link: [link]

However, the original unfold by the designer THI was not as user friendly as it could have been, and as a result, i ended up making about 3 Masterballs before I came up with a solution to make closing acceptable.

So if you want to wait for a bit, I will re-unfold all 10 balls, and re-publish them on our blog - I might even attempt making them all ... or not! Or you can give the original unfold a go, and if you do, kudos to you!

Here is a list of the ten balls that are included in the d/l pack:
Poké Ball
Great Ball
Ultra Ball
Master Ball
Safari Ball
Moon Ball
Luxury Ball
Premier Ball
Net Ball
Nest Ball

This one is an old model that I had a play around with almost a year ago, now. But I never finished it because I always had problems with the jar and the visibility of the clear plastic tabs.

There were many discussions re: "the problem of tabs on clear media" on Nintendo Papercraft forum, but nothing that I found satisfactory.

I used overhead projector plastic film, which I found inherently difficult to glue together because it was made of Polypropylene (PP). It was only after purchasing 20 sheets in a pack that I discovered PP doesn't like with superglue - it's possibly the only material in the world that repels Cyanoacrylate !

So I finally got off my proctastinating bottom and finshed this model "old school" style - an idea here, a tweek there, a snip here, and a try-again there. What you are seeing is the 2nd fairy (the first got smoshed by my 3y/o) and the 3rd jar (not the failed prototypes) that I have built from the model/ emplate we released December last year.

It's not perfect, or like we envisioned, but it'll do for now. Or until they make a glue for PP plastic. I could always try glass and silicone ... phft, that's foolish talk!

If you want to have a go at it, you can find the template here [link] , half way down the page.

Today I dusted some of my papercrafts, and I decided to take a pic of the Nintendo-related ones. But I forgot to put in there the pokeball box. Dangit! :D
Oh, and the face of gallade is hidden behind Purple pikmin... Meh! ;P Cynda is half hidden too. *fails*

Ok, I finished this at least a month ago, but then the regattas season began... And since then I had not even a spare second left to take pics/build! D:
Ahem, anyway: awesome, innit? :D I love charmeleon, one of my faves ever! And this pose is fantastic!!! I asked Bran to make me a charmeleon... at least since the day after I joined paperpokés! :D So when I saw our charmeleon-POdragon-version, I whined a little... ;P So Bran decided to make an alternate pose! Yay!!!

As usual, you'll find Charmeleon V2 on our Paperpokés website [link] as soon as it gets a free spot! :D

Weavile papercraft for the Paperpokes site.

Weavile is a little more difficult than Sneasel but still not hard. But like Sneasel it also needs a small weight to balance it. Place the weight right below where the tail attaches.

Here's sneasel!

There's nothing too difficult about building it. It just has a few small parts, like the claws, that just you just need to be careful on. It might be a good idea to place a small weight inside between its legs or on its belly because the "feathers" on its back make it a little unbalanced.

Thanks to Brandon :iconz8-0: for editing/designing this and letting me build it.

Another one of the "Generation 5 month" Pokémon.
Reshiram was fun to build, but it has a lot of small parts, so do not expect an easy job.

Thanks to :iconz8-0: for designing Reshiram, it turned out amazing!
In case you've been lost in a forest for a few months, Reshiram is the legendary Pokémon cover of Pokémon Black, coming this September in Japan. It's a fire/dragon poké.

Please don't mind the awful background, I couldn't think of anything other than actually setting it's tail on fire ^^!

Reshiram will be avaiable in Paperpokés [link] in September!!
Many thanks again to Brandon for designing this great model!

Lugia! I wasn't in the mood to re-make my Eeveelutions in 140 gsm paper, so I started out Lugia! Not as hard as I thought it would be, the feet were the hardest part for me. I didn't glue its jaw, so it can stay open in some sort of Raawr!! Thanks for paperpokes for the outstanding model!

Here's Darkrai, edited by Brandon.

It is a fun build, not too hard, though the small parts are a little frustrating. Just take your time to build the fingers and the spikes and glue the bottom with caution, then you'll end up with an awesome model ^^!!

Probably out in Paperpokés [link] in Halloween (that eye staring at you can be scary...) ^^!

Here's my big project! 22 pages of work to do, and completed from May 8-May 21. It stands at approximately 2 ish feet or so, and is my biggest undertaking yet. Celebi was hard to close up, but the hardest part was connecting the head to the body <_<. UGH.

Two of my very favorite Pokémon. Yay. And they're now in papercraft form. :w00t:

Big thanks to Gazamaniac for ripping them off of Super Smash Bros Brawl and to Brandon ~z8-0 for his superb edits.

They were a pain in the bum to photograph. Two days of trying and I only have this one to show for my efforts.

In addition to having to hang them up to make them "fly", the weather won't cooperate. It has been cloudy for the past two days and I can't get good light.

I have to keep trying to get better pics, but for now, we have this.

The twins will be released soon at my usual haunt, Paperpokés. [link]

From Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it's Kirby! Don't get cooked!

Incredible design by Philipp Stollenmayer, otherwise known as ddi7i4d.

Template from nintendopapercraft.com [link]

I adjusted Kirby's and the chef's hat color a little bit because the template seems a little too purplish to me.
