Second day of Spring and the weather is absolutely stunning. Beautiful clear days, warm temperatures and lots of colour. There's something about the smell of the fresh air and warm sun that soothes the soul.

Anyway here's a shot of the last few minutes of light before the sun disperses beyond the horizon, Wellington Bay - Nambucca Valley, NSW Australia.

Fortunately, there was no wind and no wave on the water surface.

Ice blocks near the Hoffelsjökull in the south of Iceland, under a dark and light sky... Stunning contrast between these huge blocks of ice and the brown water...

The volcanic area near the Landmannalaugar in Iceland... I remember the vast, colorfull and desertic feeling of the place... The weather was quite good, but really cold with constant wind coming from the north...
The feeling of walking on another planet...

Got some nice soft light. I'm still in two minds about the composition, but the water movement was just too sweet to ignore :)

This beach is about 10 min from my house yet never have photographed sunset from here. It's still on the list as there are so many variations to shoot from this area. The sunset this day was fun as the clouds mimic ed the rocks. Of course we're all suckers for some good water too. :)

Much thanks for the c/c!

3 or 4 photographs for DR...silly hot spots driving me nuts.

More of a 'touristy' shot than some of my other work but the light was pretty special that day. Was driving down to Hanalei when I came around the corner and BLAM!

EEEEEEEEEEEkkkkkkkkkkkkk...pull over, back up car (not running over tourist)...quickly pull out camera bag and tripod...stand on top of car (for better perspective)..fire 8 shots...lights gone.

Hanalei Bay everyone :)

The summer solstice is a magical time of year on Kauai. The sun sets at its northern most point and sends golden rays across the north coast. The Kalalau Overlook is one such spot. Often shrowded in clouds it can look like one big cloud or one of the greatest views on the planet. This day had a bit of both.

Arriving a bit more than an hour before sunset the clouds moved in and out and as the sun got low the valley cleared in totality and the golden light shone in. The amount of color in the scene was overwhelming.

4 horizontal images (2 blended photos each), railing removed from bottom right...was standing on table to get better perspective.

Much thanks!!

i noticed the way these stones lead into the horizon and the two stones out at sea worked well to balance the composition with of course the added greenery.
Shot on the north devon coastline.

Some of the brightest oranges and yellows I've seen this fall happened to be on the hillside behind this mountain stream. The composition was impossible to miss.

An image from my morning of shooting the Bear Lake area of Rocky Mountain National Park. This is one of the most picturesque lakes I've ever photographed and if you time the light right, it looks amazing in photos. (do a search for Dream Lake and you'll see what I mean)

As often happens with nature photography, I abandoned plans of shooting one location and followed the clouds to another. Just as I was scrambling for a composition the sky started to glow... one of the better sunrises I've seen in a long time.
