Making of Witch's Quarry, sounds so damn pompous, but I couldn't think of a better way to describe what I'm going to be posting and my alternative title was too long. So pompous I am!
So I'm going to be posting some more detailed essays on my creative process and how I learned to streamline them into making a daily updated, fully colored, long form online comic while working retail 20-30 hours a week. Feel free to completely ignore my rambles if you think I'm of no authority to be posting such advice. I am by no means a master of comic craft, nor do I have any formal training in writing, coloring or paneling for that matter. I took animation classes in college, most of which I disregarded or was somewhat mediocre at.
Still I think if I'm good at anything, it's delivering a decently entertaining product in excellent time frame.

Starting this weekend and through next week I will be getting ready for and attending MangaNext. I am going to be conversing with my publishing prospect this weekend, and I should be able to talk a bit more about future plans for Off*beat 3 in my panel. I will also have a few new Off*beat 3 promotional arts and things for sale. I'll be hosting two panels, one about Off*beat, my projects, process, career, and life in general. I'm a pretty open person, even though I'm a bit quiet, so I hope people ask me questions and I'm not just going off on some tangent about my love affair with chocolate chip pancakes. I'm starting with a clean slate so I apologize in advance if I never replied to a question or email you might have sent.
I usually don't like to delve into my personal life but I feel I owe some explanations to my disappearance.
My father was always a huge supporter of my artwork and I miss him dearly. I just can't mourn anymore.
I've done a lot of soul searching and I think art was always a double edged sword for me. It provided a lot of things for me but in some ways it always was a blanket that kept me from examining myself as a whole person. I still have a lot of empty holes to fill but I became somewhat more at peace with myself. In doing so I lost most of my artistic ambitions. It's a strange relationship I have with my artwork. I'd like to know what the patient, patient, (bless your souls ;_patient readers of Off*beat would be interested in seeing as added content and a possible limited insert.
I was thinking for added content perhaps more little funny strips, kind of omake? style. Or sharing some of my photography and talking a bit more of actual locations in NYC that heavily inspired the setting.
For limited inserts, I was thinking of perhaps a post card, bookmark, or stickers.

Okay so here's the good news and the bad news I promised regarding the future of Off*beat as far as I know it.
Good News
It will be finished and the last book will be more easily accessible then previous installments.
This is slated to happen in 2012 regardless if my publishing plan follows through.
I will of course keep people updated regularly on deviantart as soon as i am certain of anything.
I will be planning on doodling plenty of Off*beat things in the meantime and posting them here while we wait.

I heard rumors all around facebook this morning, some said she had resigned and some said she got fired because she stood up for a group of students, I'm not sure what happened, but I was definetely ticked. The school policy was making too many rules, and now they fired a teacher that so many students rely on? :iconwhattheshitplz: I got a text message, and it said:
"The Middle highschool has become a prison: Mrs. D got fired! Gather in the lobby at 7:30 am and help the protest! (FWD)"
So exactly as it said, I did so and......over 70 kids were therewe stood in the hall for 15 minutes straight, talking and not going to class. A two or four cops came in, looking at all of us and after awhile we just sat down, still refusing to go.
The teachers tried more than once to get us undercontrol (idk why, it wasn't a riot or anything XD) but we sat there. For 45 minutes. :ic
