More drawings of Hiccup as a waterbender; I had a lot of fun with these :D This is the first time in a while that I've ever taken the time to decently shade something, so I'm pretty proud of myself X3 Now to explain the pictures...

Top left: Hiccup using his bending to catch Toothless a snack :D I really suck at drawing Toothless and haven't got any references of him yet, but I still drew him anyways. I'm so weird...

Top right: Hiccup using legitimate waterbending for the first time during dragon training (legitimate as in actually fighting with it, not just a smack and run away screaming). He's using the octopus form, which is controlling 8 water whips at the same time, against a Gronckle which bit his leg and ate his boot, hence the bleeding and barefooted-ness, LOL X3 I really love how the pose turned out and pretty much the whole drawing turned out in general, though I do wish that I did a better job on his bare foot; it looks jacked-up to me...

Bottom left: "I won't let you hurt Toothless!" Hiccup using bloodbending (go look it up, I don't feel like explaining) on his dad to keep him from hurting Toothless more. It's at the part where Toothless comes to protect Hiccup from the Monstrous Nightmare and everyone is all like 'NIGHT FURY, OMGEEZ!" and they go all crazy and stuff and, yeah.... Hiccup's crying because this is an intense moment for him...

Bottom right: Hiccup to the rescue! Nah, just kidding :D He's just getting ready to protect himself from a [different] Gronckle by bending water from a nearby bucket while said dragon chases Astrid and Ruffnut around the arena. Just a silly piece to lighten the mood from the other drawing :D

Enjoy the collage!

I have no idea what's going on. I wanted to draw Hiccup jumping off a dock, but the dock looked lonely so I added an angry Astrid looking for him. Hiccup's wearing metal boots and short sleeves cuz they're awesome. Proportions suck but Hiccup looks awesome (I love his hair). Drawn in my agenda cuz I freaking can and I was bored anyways. Enjoy!

Snippet from an animation sketchbook assignment. Proportions suck majorly but I really love how this turned out. Best Toothless face ever! And Hiccup turned out pretty bomb, too :D Enjoy!

Amazing title!!! XD

I think many people have done this before... I wanted to do it too xD

I imagine when BookHiccup first meets MovieHiccup, they're all like :omg: Then they start to chat about their lives, their dragons, their tribes... their adventures. They take a ride on MovieToothless and learn some Dragonesse words to say to BookToothless.

At the end of the day, MovieHiccup, tired (because of his [lack of] leg), sits on a rock. BookHiccup sits in front of him waiting for more stories. "Tell me more, tell me more!" he says. MovieHiccup thinks that his other self is destined for great things, that he'll be alright as long as he has his willpower and the support of his beloved ones.

And this is that very moment.

The coloring is not that good, and the camera (I don't have a scanner) didn't help at all xD

Hope you like it!! (Download for fullview)

"It was the most dreadful thing Hiccup had ever seen, and it would give him nightmares until he was an old, old man. It was a face that wasn't a face, no eyes and ears, just that vast nose and slobbering mouth, punctuated by sparkling silver teeth."
Cressida Cowell's How to Be a Pirate

Talking about the Skullions.

I imagined a young Hiccup waking up at the middle of the night because of those nightmares again. (For some reason he just looks like MovieHiccup ;P). As always, Toothless is laying by his feet. Instead of using his old, broken helmet, I imagine that either Stoick or Valhallarama gave Hiccup a new one (I prefer the idea that his mother gave it to him).

From one side there's light coming from a torch or a fireplace, and from the other side, through the window, the moonlight bathes him. Nevertheless, those memories darken it all around him...

This is the first time I color something in the night and with a special source of light! What do you think? Any suggestion? ;)

Uh by the waaaay! I have the lineart of this drawing, If you're interested in making your colored version of it, send me a note and we'll talk about it ;)

Yes! Hiccup! Again!!

This was my first drawing of him :3

I didn't draw a bg so I used the Pattern stock by ~erikcollinder [link] and the leaves (also stock) by ~sweetlilfly [link]

It's also the first time I use GIMP... so... yeah, because it's for free ;P Well so I just wanted to make it look anything but boring

because I love Hiccup

Hiccup kicks back amid a patch of mayweed flowers and doodles in his book. .... .... Dang it, his head's too big....

I started drawing this in the back of a minivan on a desert road somewhere in.... Utah I think.

Named after the spot in the video game. Oh my gosh I think I've been playing it too much. After I thrashed Astrid in the Hofferson Tournament last night using only my zippleback, I had a dream that I was Hiccup, and I killed Fishlegs! T_T

I didn't recognize him! :cries:

....

Right, yeah, so anyway this is a fan art, from a video game, which did not follow the movie it was made from, which movie did not follow the book it was based on.

This one is a bit far-flung, my dears.

The Wild Zone is my favorite place to visit in the game mostly because of the music. I was listening to it most of the time I made this. Here's the loop. Kinda dreamy and trancy, isn't it? Even with the dragon cries in the distance. Maybe because of the dragon cries in the distance....

The mini-games in the Wild Zone are fun, too.

Also.... sheep-tackling is my new favorite thing. :XD:
Fun game. :D

Another gift to Avannak for her amazing HTTYD story "Hitchups" on FF.net [link]

I just had this pop into my mind and I finally got the chance to sit down and finish this. The arm and shoulder guards are made from Toothless's scales. I got the idea of Hiccup having armor like that since the latest chapter where he mentioned having a coating of scales over the leather for Toothless's tail fin and I thought that if he could do that then he could also make some armor for himself that would look pretty bad ass.

That's Thor's hammer in the background because he's sorta like Hiccup's patron god. Too be honest, the background was a REAL pain in my ass because I couldn't think of anything so I just made this instead. Turned out looking pretty cool in the end. That's Framherja, Hiccup's testy, shiny bow. All I have to say is that she is a real bitch to draw because of all of the intricate patterns on her, and it took forever to find the right designs to put on her otherwise she came out looking to simple or just plain ugly.

Framherja... a bitch to wield and a bitch to draw...

I made Hiccup around 18 or 19 in this picture, he filled out quite nicely and he's more grown-up but still has a bit of his boyish charms. I have no dignity :surrender:

Okay... it's official...

I am CONPLETELY obsessed with the image of Badass Hiccup.

Not sure if that's a good or bad thing though... eh, whatever

This is another picture for Avannak's amazing HTTYD fic on FF.net "Hitchups" ([link]). Hopefully this will help her deal with her job at that camp in Maine. I might be able to get a couple more pictures done before I head off to college in a couple of weeks and after that... I don't know, I really don't know how much time I'll have when I get to UF.

This is not really a scene in the story, this is just something from the clutter in my brain that I thought would look really badass. Hiccup, in my opinion, is the rebel of Berk and therefore the total badass. Wait till the ladies get a load of him :giggle:

I had some problem with this angle, especially the hands. But I think I got it right from the number of times I posed in front of my mirror and then rushed to make a rough sketch of myself. I happy with the fact that I figured out how to get Framherja to glow :D she is a magic bow so she needs to glow. The background wasn't really something I worked that much on mostly because, once again, I had no freakin' clue on what to do so I just went with an ocean and dark sky... or at least that's what I hope it looks like...

Right, so tell me what you think about my little creation. Bye!

I have said this before and I will say it again...

I. HATE. HANDS.

They have got to be the biggest pain in the ass things to draw. I tried so many times and this piece of crap was the best I could come up with. :( I have to read a few more art and anatomy books.

The background... eh.... I did what I could to make it look like a forest. I'm starting to think that I should stick to traditional artwork for a while since I can't get the digital stuff to come out the way that I wanted it to.

This is a little gift to Avannak for her story 'Hitchups' [link]

Which just so happens to be the best HTTYD fanfic EVER!!!!

I made some improvisions here with Hiccup. I added some decorations to his braids from his travels, sort of redid the typical Hungarian shirt and gave it a more Eastern look since he's going close to Istanbul (I checked on a map the directions he got in the last chapter), the bow I left it plain cause I don't know what his bow will be like when he gets it.

Pretty much he's about to fight. And trust me when I say this pose was HARD to get halfway decent.

I'm going to bed now seeing that it's morning and I'm out of soda. Good night...or morning... whatever, I'm going to go to sleep now.

So for Hiccup I wanted him to kinda have an inventor look. Hence having him have rolled up sleeves instead of them down like hit Viking outfit, and giving him goggles around his neck.
I also have pouches on his belt which you can't see with the vest.
His leg I just added springs and gauges while changing the shape a bit (though I still tried to keep the bend in the foot part).

And I don't think I have anything else to ramble about...

Hiccup discovers the awesomeness of two cans and a string. U.U

So I was browsing the internet yesterday and stumbled onto this pillow [link] I thought the picture was so cute, so I wanted to draw something based off of it. I've been wanting to draw a picture of chibi Hiccup and Astrid (not in a comic) together so I used them.
I saw some other designs like this pillow and might base some pictures off them (they are just so adorable).

You want to know what's NOT fun!?

Trying desperately to get eight fully colored (with backgrounds!) drawings done before June 1st and having your laptop FREAKING LOCK UP ON YOU EVERY TIME YOU START TO DRAW. Causing you to lose what you had if you did not remember to save and having to keep re-drawing it. >>>>>>]8|

That said I am....three hours and fifteen minutes late for when i wanted to finish these, but OH WELL! ]8DD

Cause I liked the Steampunk!HTTYD I was an idiot and decided to draw scenes from the movie in Steampunk mode.
As fun as it was I forgot I stink at backgrounds...and coloring...and perspective. ]8D;;;;

I to like how (some) of these turned out though. I actually did have a lot of fun coloring the backgrounds. >]:3
I got the idea of setting it up like this from :icondetkef: I didn't want to copy her though, so I tried to draw different scenes. <.<;;;

So yeah, anyhow. Please comment. I really would like to know what you all think and if you want to see more. ]:3

*EDIT* HOLY CREPES, THAT IS THE SMALLEST TOOTHLESS HEAD EVER. EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO SIT IN THIS CORNER AND CRY AT MY UTTER FAILURE. D'X

An age meme i found a while back. i don't know who the creator is, BUT THIS IS NOT MY MEME.
Ahem, anyway.
I wanted to do this as a character development thing. I'm currently in the process of writing a fan fiction of HTTYD, where I change hiccup into a girl. The name stays the same, s do the character traits, but I wanted to kind of do an in-depth, my-own-spin-on-things fanfic. But that's probably not what you're curious about.

in the first panel, we see Hiccup at five, when Valhallarama was still around. (she's the close-up woman). Adorable, carefree, happy.
in panel 2, hiccup at ten. shortly after another dragon raid, and Hiccup has come out a little worse for the wear. You can see a large chunk of hair is burnt off, and there are several scratches visible. Also, due to body language, it is clear that Hiccup's life has taken a turn for the worse since the first panel.

panel three - during/right after my fanfic. Hiccup about the sae age as movie-hiccup, this time with Tooothless1 HI TOOTHLESS!!!! she's much happier here, obviously

panel four - Hiccup at twenty. her hair is grown out, and she wears a fur cape much like Stoick's. She's a cheif-in-training here, or perhaps she has let someone else train to be leader while she explores the world with Toothless. I'd love to hear your'e input on this last situation. tell me which one seems more likely to you!

And that's it. I'd love to hear any feedback, please!

A piece created for *ch4rms for winning the contest on [link]

I was asked to draw the kids in a tree, and "Hiccup has fallen, Snotlout and Tuffnut point and laugh, Ruffnut is about to stomp on her brother's fingers. Astrid looks like a bar gymnyst and where Fishlegs stands the branch is cracking"

Well...I did my best. Astrid doesn't quite look like a gymnast (I"m not talented enough to draw some crazy-awesome gymnast pose), and Fishlegs is clinging to the branch rather than standing on it...but oh well. :D

AND SHUT UP I KNOW I SUCK AT DRAWING TREES. >:C

But I really liked how this came out. I wanted to make it just a touch cartoony, so I did lineart this time, but I still did my normal shading techniques. :D

And who else adores Hiccup's expression? HE'S JUST TOO CUTE <3 (SQUEEE!!!!)

EDIT: check out the new, better version here: [link]

Done on my brown paper sketchbook. Graphite and white colored pencil.

Stoick carrying home a very tired little Hiccup, who's about five years old here. Goodness gracious, I adore little Hiccup. He's just so loveable.

I really wanted to capture a fatherly moment from Stoick. I'm not very good at drawing him, but I think I did alright here. I love how enourmous Stoick is in comparison to his tiny little son. If you look carefully, you'll notice Hiccup's shirt is too big, emphasizing his tinyness and how even at a young age, he failed to comply with the Viking norm.

"You have my sword."
"And my bow."
"And my axe! ....Seriously though, It's really heavy, please take it, my arms are about to fall off ;__; "

I don't have to be at school until noon today, so I thought I'd do some little doodles for some coloring practice. I like how this one turned out.

I'm such a geek-I saw this movie for the third time this past weekend, and I even took my giant plushie (pics coming soon!) with me....And attracted stares from many theater-goers. But it was super fun. XD

I always thought the scene when his Stoick throws the axe at Hiccup was funny...Especially how he holds it. XD

I always loved this part of the movie. The music is s dramatic, and the visual effects are awesome. ....Not that this is any different from the rest of the film, but this scene always stood out to me. I almost cried, even after I knew how it was going to end. <: D

This piece was not as annoying as I thought it was going to be. Still working on my lighting abilities, and trying to wrestle with photoshop. However, I think it came ou pretty good. Especially Toothless. I'm usually pretty sucky at dawing animals, dragons included. But for some reason, Toothless is easy for me to draw. Huh.

No, I'm not obsessed with this movie really. At all. Ever. No.

Since I finally managed to find the book yesterday, I sat down and finished reading it in about....2 hours? Around there. It's not a long book.

Anyways, after I finished, I was struck with a strong desire to draw the book verion of Hiccup. (Who, to those who don't know the book series, has flaming red frizzy hair, is short and scrawny, and wears sandals in winter. Not quite sure how he puts up with that last one.)

However, his outfit is more of a mixture of his book outfit and movie outfit. I liked the helmet in the book design, but I also liked the movie version of his clothes.

Also, that's Toothless in the little basket on his back. I like the movie Toothless SO much better, but since this is supposed to be from the book, I figured I should put original Toothless in. Despite the fact that he annoys the crap out of me. D:<

The runes are Younger Futhark, which is supposedly what the runes in the movie are based off of. Somewhat.

I got really fed up with not being able to draw for....two weeks, pretty much. So I took my brace off and busted out the sketchbook and tablet. And While it was EXTREMELY SATISFYING to be able to hold a pencil again I need to put the brace back on now....It hurts :dead:

"It wasn't weakness, but his overwhelming sense of mercy for living things. Mercy was not a bad thing—he had once let a dragon live, a dragon he knew he was supposed to kill and now he couldn't have ever imagined life without the fire beasts. One act of mercy had changed an entire way of life for everyone—for the better. He'd even let the wretch live who could have killed his own father.

Because what was the point of revenge? It wouldn't change anything—just one more act of violence begotten by violence with only the fleeting consolation of vengeance. Hiccup had yet to be angry enough to kill someone—and doubted he ever would.

You can't change what has happened, his father's voice reminded him, You live life until the end all based on your choices.

[...]

The sun was sinking.

Decisions, Hiccup, decisions.

Further yet behind the ocean.

One act of mercy can change an entire way of life for everyone—for the better."

This is the exact moment Hiccup decides to spare...a traitor. (Hey, not everyone has read the fic, so I'm still not spoiling the traitor's identity!) ;)
