I got permission to post my storyline art that I did for a game called Söldner X 2: Final Prototype. developed by Sidequest Studios in Germany. :)
These are the edited versions (not my final ones which looked pretty different for some of these) that appear in the game for the Playstation 3.
Most of them are a mix of 2D and 3D elements.

An image done as part of a series of images for a game trailer, about 13 in total, this is a scene depicting world burnt by war and a derelict ship floating in a belt of debris.
This image was put in my portfolio and thought I might upload it here also.

Another painting for the game Novus Aeterno. This image was used as a guide to show the look and general feel of the big gas and dust clouds that are to be added into the games space to make space less empty and boring. There is a huge fleet of ships breaking orbit from a planet that can just be seen behind the big dust cloud. This is the first image I did that showed off all the ships the human race has, minus a big ass one but more on that later. The ships are paint-overs of 3D models created by our very talented 3D ship modeler :iconpukey82: some adjustments were made but the basic shape was kept for accuracy.

Another early concept image for Telikos Protocol, a graphic novel series. This image showcases a battle between an alien machine and a human armoured division, as the tanks engage the target it becomes quickly apparent its weaponry is significantly more advanced.

Hi all! It's been so long since I've been able to post work that I've done!

These concept artworks were done in late 2008 for the game Front Mission Evolved. Front Mission is a cult-classic mecha franchise by Square Enix that inspired my love for robots when I was a youngster. It was an insane privilege for IFS and myself to have been able to contribute to it.

This one took the longest time, total of 3 days IIRC. Combination of 3D base and photo textures. Lots of painting and personal ideas for this one, so I hope you enjoy it. It is my favourite of the lot.

Night fighting at the docks. A massive invasion by a terrorist group is underway as law enforcement (the brown Wanzers in the foreground) desperately attempt to pin down the assaulting force. This image is fully painted IIRC with the aid of a stock photo or 2 for the background lights. I always wanted to make a mech do a blind-fire maneuver. I thought it might help to convey a more realistic kind of fear and desperation given the odds-- and at the same time, show off whatever is happening in the background a bit better.

It turns to be more powerful tool than i`ve thought before)

These are studies that i`ve done from Avatar stills.

The main purpose is to simplify everything and to speed up!
I will post the making of in next post,

Just to clarify that it is not simple overpaint procedure with no color picking,
otherwise it won`t teach me anything)

Heavy Cruiser Hammer

Размер 300 м.

Корабль эффективен против любых крупных кораблей противника. Хорошо бронирован и укрыт плотным щитом, средняя скорость в бою. Несколько дешевле других тяжелых крейсеров. На корабле стоит оружейный генератор большой емкости, но сравнительно малой мощности. Хороший межсекторный двигатель.

Вооружение:
2 Heavy Blaster Cannon - тяжелые бластерные орудия, дальнобойные, значительное рассеивание, высокое повреждение щитам, низкая проникающая способность, высокое повреждение корпусу, низкая бронебойность. Медленная перезарядка
2 Ion Cannon – ионные орудия среднего класса.
2 Torpedo Launcher – пара торпедных аппаратов средней мощности, большой радиус поражения, разрушительные повреждения устройствам. Установлены на одной вращающейся турели.

Gyrfalcon Cruiser (Кречет;)

Размер 265 м.

Ударный крейсер, наряду с крейсером Tramper, часто входит в ядро больших флотов. В отличие от Tramper, он слабее бронирован, но имеет более мощный щит и генераторы. На Кречете стоит полноценное дальнобойное ионное орудие, наряду с парой внушительных бластерных орудий. Корабль лишь немногим уступает Tramper по противокорабельной огневой мощи и значительно превосходит его по параметру противощитовой мощности.
Корабль немного длиннее чем Tramper, но за счет более узкого силуэта корпуса кажется меньше своего визави. Несмотря на небольшой размер двигатели, обеспечивают кораблю значительную скорость при перемещении в гиперпространстве, в бою скорость средняя.
Высокий мостик расположен в середине корпуса. Перед мостиком (или возможно над ним;) расположено Ионное орудие. Пара бластерных орудий расположена ближе к носу (но не на самом носу;), симметрично, относительно центральной линии корабля.
Также как и Tramper, Gyrfalcon имеет плавные очертания корпуса.

Вооружение:
2 Blaster Cannon - повышенной мощности, средняя дальность. Заряды обладают стандартной мощностью против щитов. Проникающая способность зарядов немного выше чем на орудиях Tramper крейсера.
1 Ion Cannon - дальнобойное ионное орудие. Очень большое потребление энергии, в случае повреждения оружейного генератора в первую очередь перестает стрелять именно оно.

Here I did a redesign of Hammer's Slammers mercenary hover tanks. The tank runs on a fusion generator, which powers their lift fans and plasma weaponry.
The main gun will melt enemy armored units to slag, while the tri-barrel plasma gun on top handles point defense against infantry, aircraft, and incoming projectiles. A final defensive measure is an array of ball shot mines surrounding the tank, which can kill incoming infantry and missiles.

I tried out some matte painting for the landscape, otherwise it's all hand painted. Made in PS CS4 with a Wacom Intuos3.
