Here I go again with my weird screenshot selections
John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness and Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper from "Torchwood". Yes I really like Torchwood. I like how this came out. And don't read anything out of this, I just happened to like the scene
"...it's beautiful yeah... The skies are burnt ornage. With a citadel enclosed in a mighty glass dome, shining under the twin suns. Beyond that the mountains go on forever. Slopes of deep red grass, capped with snow. "
Gallifrey, the Doctor's home planet. I really loved how he described it I'd bought some colored paper and this was my exuse to use it.
John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness (Torchwood). Wanted to draw another picture of him. No reason I just like to draw the randomest and pointless things. To me it's not so much about what I draw, it's just the process of it is so enjoyable.
The ref I used had a sort of grey gamma and I thought I could try to draw it in colour. The skin tone was a real challenge. How do you select pencils for a shade you can't even name? Ended up using warm grey and a colour called "storm"
Used Derwent Graphitint, Drawing and Watercolour pencils; then Lyra Watercolour and Faber-Castelle watercolour pencils. And not a drop of water
Strangely enough I'm more happy with how the skin tone came out compared to the clothes, hair and bg.
A speedy job for the BBC Dr Who Website. In the Agatha Christie episode "The Unicorn and the Wasp" the Doctor refers to an adventure we haven't seen and we're shown a flashback of him in some woods with a bow and arrow - these two illustrations are from the story which appeared on the website to fill in the blanks
I vaguely remember a time when I thought I'd never draw Torchwood fluff. Woops.
Blame Maroon 5, which often puts me in a Janto mood with songs like Sunday Morning, Daylight, and Never Gonna Leave This Bed.
Steal some covers, share some skin And clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable… …That may be all I need In darkness he is all I see Come and rest your bones with me I'm driving slow on Sunday morning And I never want to leave
Oh damn I actually put effort into this. *sigh*
Jack and Ianto are BBC and the merciless soul-eating Davies. Art is ~Mad-Hattie
For Coffee_n_Retcon of Livejournal. She won the raffle and requested Ianto and Gareth in the early early days of Blue Gillespie (aka when he wasn't as chubby with long hair x__x)
I'm really pleased with their faces. ...even if they're not really recognisable because I didn't use any particular ref pics. I think that all of these months of using photo-references for my TW drawings has really sharpened my skills in drawing pretty boy faces. xD
I now feel like drawing either- 1. my OCs in this style with a huge intricate city background and spend like 100hours on it. or 2. Draw some pretty girls, my gallery is filling with so many guys and I think that the only girl I've drawn this year has been my own ID! OTL
BUT I still have a few more mens to draw before I can do that. Tenth Doctor request here I come!
Here's a commission that I did for a fan through livejournal, with permission to sell it at Supanova in Melbourne last weekend. Unfortunately I didn't finish this one in time for Brisnova either. Sorry
I got James Marsters and Gareth David-Lloyd to sign my copy last weekend

This is what has been keeping me away from DA for the last couple of weeks and I shall be replying very soon the all the messages in about a week, so apologies for that.
Anyway, this is a piece of work, I did for a friend and it is based on the classic Chris Achilleos painting for " The Monster Book" from the mid seventies. I loved that cover. I've modernised the monster and the Doctor and it was done by colouring a mono-chrome water colour and pencil drawing in Photoshop. Hope you like.
