Happy new year!
Wacom Graphire 4, Photoshop CS4.
Oh and, #SpaceArt!
And, I added a wallpaper pack where I rotated the image CCW and added some stuff. The archive contains the following sizes.
Originally started out as a recreation of one of my older projects, namely time travel ([link]). But I changed course along the way and this is the result!
Information: A little over a week, consisting of ~90 layers. As before; the planet is an earlier creation created and manipulated out of satellite images from NASA's Visible Earth project - with additional manipulations by brushes.

Celaeno is a star in the constellation Taurus and a member of the Pleaides star cluster. Celaeno is sometimes called the Lost Pleiad.
Not the most fitting name for this if you consider the source, but beside that, I like the name and therefor I chose it.
I regret to inform you that once again I was actually just playing around, and therefor on low resolution, unfortunately I never expanded it so this is the full size image not even a bit resized, sadly. I think if I did work on bigger resolution than 800x800 then this would be a whole lot better.
Nonetheless, I hope you like it. I'm not going to test anymore, larger canvas sizes, here I come!
The painting process took me around 10 hours stretching way into the evening/night on christmas eve, but the day after I did lots of extra editing. It consists of ~80 layers. Original planet size is 8000x8000. (details not visible since it has been massively downsized.
It is drawn in Photoshop CS3 with a Wacom Graphire 4. Planets are made up from textures from virtualearth.nasa.gov.
